Nordic Ghost Yeti (Scandi Carroll) | Haaland at City

So these lot are going to win the league by October.

Haaland just might get 40+ league goals

Still be funny if they don't win a champions league though.

Grew up as a City fan though. Could well be his final destination as there is no reason for City to sell and they can match any salary thrown after him. I don't think he is going to leave any time soon.

He's got a release clause at city hes blatantly going in 2/3 years, 150mill euro and with the way his stats are that will be considered a bargain price.

Just hope he fancies moving around a bit. Some do and some don’t.

He has a release clause

Real Madrid in 2024 after Benzema retires then. Perez would do that in a heart-beat. He would move to a much weaker league though, so his scoring numbers would be astronomical.

and that most PL CB's however tall aren't nearly up to the task in terms of acceleration, agility, etc. Those attributes could be more prioritised in future.
Agree. At the same time I feel the CB position has developed a lot when it comes to demands and reguired skills. Maybe the position which requirements have increased the most the last 10-20y. Today CBS have to be speedy, robust and technical ballcarriers and passers; much more complete compared with Tony Adams, Steve Bruce :D

The CB position is likely the most difficult position to fill these days; the selection is very low. VVD is one of very few players with skills to stop Haaland and at the same time being a playable CB, actually the only CB that comes to my mind right now.

I think it's clear that there are real differences in levels of athleticism that Haaland is making quite apparent here, and that most PL CB's however tall aren't nearly up to the task in terms of acceleration, agility, etc. Those attributes could be more prioritised in future.
This doesn't make sense. Haaland is a freak athlete, stated time and time again and being rubber stamped in the bestest league in the omniverse - you simply don't get many of them amongst humans, irrespective of sport.

There simply isn't freaks to flood football with to match his athleticism combined allied to his size.

Don't worry guys this is just the typical honeymoon purple patch that many new striker signings produce when they join the prem league.

In all seriousness I think he could force some tactical and personnel changes. It almost reminds me of Shaq keeping 7ft 280lb dudes that couldn't play in the NBA for 10 years during his prime. We might see monster athlete defenders becoming more prioritised than ever as Haaland-stoppers.
Just imagine how all PL clubs are recruiting 7ft tall one-eyed ogres that can stop him

Would score 50 goals in Bundesliga, just like Rashford.

Shades of R9 about this. Genuine physical freak combined with first class movement and finishing. Just lacks a bit of Ronaldo's skill.

I havent checked the numbers but arent Haaland scoring way more than R9?

I think Haaland already surpased Ronaldos all time CL scoring. Which is insane.
It's not insane, CL football participation was very different then. There was a tweet somewhere that put it into context that if CR7 for example played under the rules R9 did to qualify for the CL, he wouldn't have had even half the season he had in the competition.

3 tap ins. Totally overrated.
He wont get past 70 this season

Yeah.

R9 had 40 games. 14 goals.
Haaland is kinda crushing that.

Nope and neither is Haaland.

Brazilian Ronaldo was on whole another planet compared to these two.
When it comes to scoring goals. Haaland seems better. Yeah R9 had step overs, but Haaland is a scoring freak.

I really dont like the comparisons with R9. They are not very similar to me.

The difference is a basketball court is way smaller than a football pitch.
The big lumps your talking about could just stand under the basket and foul him.
To stop Haaland they would have to be big and fast. These type of defenders are already like gold dust even before Haaland arrived.

Haaland is playing lower quality opposition than R9 with the expanded field. Might be interesting to remove the easy games and see how many Haaland scored then.
