If we had one more killer in our attack to put away these clutch chances we’d be golden. We simply don’t have that consistent, lethal forward.

Needs to be addressed this summer.
Pulisic needs a big year. Stay fit and consistent minutes. He's so hot and cold.

I spent all night screaming at vini to take him on to try and get him the second yellow

James was often isolated too but he dealt with him really well
Yeah I was worried about that too - but RLC did a good job helping out I thought and given the way the game was going it was hard for Vini to get into advanced positions too often.

Chelsea must be wondering how they’ve been knocked out. Madrid are very open at the back.

You watch that Alonso disallowed goal and just sit & wonder how can the same sport allow that Boro goal against us. The handball rule is absolutely moronic and the fact that refs are unable to use common sense with it is even worse

I would never understand how Real Madrid do this kind of things. Barca need to be outstanding to even challenge for the CL but they don't. It doesn't matter if they play poorly they still can win the whole thing. I still remember that Anelka CL 20 years ago when they finished 5th in the league and still won it.
Mentality. Simple as that

Spanish teams are so unlikeable
A Madrid did the same to us at OT , it didn’t frustrate me as much as it must have done to Chelsea tonight as we could have played another 2 hours we wouldn’t have created a chance. Chelsea must be wondering how they are out

Anyone else (United fans) get a bit down watching other teams?

Every time, they show so much more commitment and heart. You can see how much they care.

Haven’t seen anything like that from United in over a year. Chelsea will be disappointed but I’d love United to show that energy just once this season.
I feel the same. I'm fecking sick of our players and football. Watching this season be rounded off by Liverpool vs City in the CL final as Liverpool bid for a quadruple which eclipses our treble just puts the icing on the cake.

Yeah the fact that if he'd passed it or if Courtois had saved it and someone put it in on the rebound would have been an allowed goal is just ridiculous.

Frankly think they should just go back to ball to hand or hand to ball if it's in a natural position.

Iirc player who handled in that game didn't score? Ball came back to a teammate. It's sort of a dumb rule honestly.

But yeah, that was one of most ridiculous noncalls i've ever senn

Honestly, just base it on advantage gained

Watching this again i would genuinely rule it out - he'd take an extra half second to control the ball without the handball i think as the ball is rolling on his body, but i wouldn't complain if the goal stood either

I don't feel down at all these days. Just accepted our level. We have dogshit players without any real technicality.

Look at how these(other team) players control the ball, dribble, accuracy of passes, decision making. Utd are years behind most teams.

Yeah I thought it was right on the border as well. I was obviously annoyed it got ruled out but it was fair enough - especially as the ball dropped from his hand straight to his right boot.

My post you quoted was posted too early, I completed it and provided another example :D
Seriously the only slight regret I have is that no matter who the manager is we can’t do a Liverpool 2005 or Chelsea 2012.

Apart from that we don’t really lack nights like today. I could also ask questions like how many teams could beat a decent team like Roma in the CL quarters 7-1?
Of course we need to improve and all that, but I am really tired of people negatively speaking about United in every thread and exaggerating everything.
Liverpool made light work of Roma in 2019, they’ll do the same to Villarreal, they’re a similar calibre of club.

And Roma was 2007, we’ve only once been to the quarters since 2011, that’s pretty damn shocking for the size of club we are.

Oh man, this has City Liverpool final written all over it now. I think they'd be favorites if that is the case. No offence to Real Madrid but I think City are on a different level to them.

Chelsea were miles better, were robbed a proper goal and should have gone through as they were the better team. Madrid were jammy cnuts.
Meh, it was handball, also, if anything, they were gifted a corner kick by the ref that led to Rudiger's goal.

And the fun part is these overpaid lazy fecks wouldn't even get fired up after seeing their arch rivals fighting for top honors.

Agreed - @carvajal as well
Thank you very much. You were very close. Tuchel is a great coach. The truth is that Alonso's hand...
Why is Anchelotti persisting with Kroos though? It has been clear in other UCL games this season that he isn't up to it physically anymore to play at this level, is it just not trusting Camavinga for UCL matches yet?
It really is him or Camavinga (although I would like him to test Valverde in that position), and giving such a young boy the responsibility...is a problem if it goes wrong.
In any case I think it's a matter of status. In fact I think Kroos seemed upset with the change

Football balances out.

If we weren’t so bad in the first leg we would have knocked you out. We only have ourselves to blame. But I’m ok with everything. We redeemed ourselves a little tonight and in the past 2 seasons have proven we are better than you :smirk: silver lining

Villarreal into last 4 and are 18/1 odds to win the CL. Expected i suppose as they are there against the odds and will face the CL favourites Liverpool next (6/5)

Real Madrid with their tradition in this competition are still longish odds (5/1) probably their longest ever odds when have reached the semi finals?

Seeing Liverpool and City mop up all of the trophies means feck all to them although they know they would get pelters if they ever admitted it. They don't make them like they used to.

Crazy thing is that half this forum hates on someone like Nev who must be dying inside everyday watching Liverpool & city fight it out like this

Liverpool aren't in the Semis yet, room for one more shock.

They haven't been great and Benfica have feck all to lose.
We've lost three games (all by one goal and Benfica need to win by two just to get to extra time) in all competitions all season. We'll most likely get through.

Villarreal is simpler than Bayern would've been but the second leg is away so that's a factor.

Liverpool vs City final I dread it. The odds for Liverpool to reach the final was 1.66 before tonight.
Wish I had bet a heavy amount.
