Tempted to get rid of Foden as I reckon he will be heavily rotated now with Pep unhappy with his attitude.

All Christmas games are going ahead, aslong as teams have 13 fit players and a goalkeeper.
Cheers. Anyone out there knows the rules of how long before a team's player will be given the green light to play?

From what I heard (undocumented) we have 11-13 cases in our squad with Covid, so if it takes 10-14 days to be cleared and given the green light, then the Newcastle game should be around 50/50 risk?

The big problem is that if any fresh cases rule a Boxing Day game off, with the mad turn around of 3 games in 6 days, surely all 3 games will have to be off?

The last set of games called off will be very tight up to Boxing Day as it is, but any fresh cases will mess that right up.

Could be a good makeweight for Son, with Spurs having a few decent fixtures to slot in somewhere.

I'm stuck.

Ramsdale
Cancelo TTA Alonso Reg (bench; Liveramento)
Salah Son Foden Raph Jota
Watkins (bench; King, Borja

or

Ramsdale
Cancelo TTA Alonso Reg (bench; Liveramento)
Salah Foden Raph Jota (bench; Brownhill)
Ronaldo Maupay (bench; King)

what do you reckon?

Essentially its about Ronaldo. But i feel Son + Watkins is better than him and brownhill

I don't need to take hits. But damn, do we need Ronaldo? Son feels just as important
I think Son and another starter (Watkins) makes much more sense unless you’re going to be captaining Ronaldo. Major chances of Ronaldo being rotated in random matches. Son not so much. Spurs have a few doubles coming up too supposedly.

So 21 and 22 can both have doubles for Man United. Do we expect Ronaldo to play all 4 games? Then I am removing Salah for him who leaves anyway and maybe wildcarding plus bench boost in 22 so I can load up on Spurs and us.

I think you get wildcard soon right?

Hard part is I should sell all City and Liverpool players, but probably keeping TAA and Cancelo since I have so much value in them.

Man I was doing so well (~25k ish) until this fixture nonsense. Just don't have the time right now to sink into analyzing all the possibilities.

What's the current template at this point?

No way Ronaldo plays all 4 games. Ralf will be sure to rest him for at least 1 game and then tell the media they're shitshirring when they say he's 'dropped' (I hope).

I'm not entirely sure I want to go back to Ronaldo in all honesty. Fairly sure my transfer will be Sterling > Son this week.

I could do Sterling & Watkins/Antonio > Ronaldo & Martinelli for a hit.

Yeah Ronaldo hasn't been worth the money. With hindsight the way to go so far this season was not Brownhill + Ronaldo :(

Very true. Actually a massive gamble when you look at it like that.

I'm going without ronaldo. Having squad depth at a time of covid and games also coming in thick and fast plus frauds like Pep means the bench will be essential until march/April time.

Ronaldo isn't Salah and won't get Salah level of points so not worth having the likes of Brownhill and Duffy in the team just to fit him in.

I really don't know what to do this week. If I knew Sterling was going to play I'd keep him over Son but that's the thing with Pep isn't it.

I know I do want 2 x United and 2 x Spurs in for possible DGW's in 21/22 and looking at my team structure it makes the most sense to bring in Son, Reguillon, DDG & Bruno for Sterling, James, Sa & Salah. It's just timing them all right.

Salah and James can probably go in 21 for Bruno & Reg. Sa looks ok this week as well which still leaves Sterling > Son this week with the potential to bite me on the arse. Probably see what Pep says and if he draws a line under the disciplinary for Foden and Grealish it would make sense to move him out immediately. We know Son will never get benched.

I managed to get him without either of that useless pair, but I’m sure there’s a sacrifice somewhere. Jumping off Ronaldo onto Son at the right time looks like a good move for those of us that kept him.

When is the players going for african cup of nations?

Need to know when to sell Salah. Probably doing Salah to Son and then maybe try to bring in Ronaldo.

I'm looking at Fornals now. Fornals and Ronaldo in for Sterling and Antonio. Get Son in for Salah in GW21.

Alternatively Broja in for Antonio instead.

Think they're my best bets.

Yep same here.
That Watkins transfer just means I've got my money too evenly distributed around now.

It'd either take TAA to Tsimikas then do Watkins/Antonio to Ronaldo in 2, or otherwise would take 3 moves, or a wildcard.

Ronaldo needs to be double digiting and probably as captain for the money to be worth it.

I think he will be highly captained in 21/22. Him, Son and Kane will all be up there just because of the doubles. Probably will remain that way as well until Salah comes back from the Afcon.

Don't remove TAA. Man is essential. Far more important than Ronaldo.

That is... wow. Quite a big deal!
I am going to wildcard 21 I think and then bench boost 22 possibly if Covid is under control. Then use the free hits on fututure doubles or blanks.

Without wildcard I can't really spread the Salah money.

Maybe it is better to wait out the storm though.

Does anyone think it's too big a risk to Triple Captain Salah vs Leeds for the Boxing Day fixture?

BoxingDay tends to have goals but this is 12:30pm. Not a DGW but now we have 2 free hits that we can use + a bench boost.

Regarding the second free hit, I think changing the rules like this part way through the season somewhat undermines the game. In this case, at least the resources remain the same for everyone, and everyone’s planning right now is so far out of the window that this the best time to announce it. Personally I’m really not a fan though. It’s less rewarding doing longer term strategy, when someone might just decide to change the game.

More importantly, the bigger negative is that this undermines FPL forever more because there’s now a precedent for them changing the resources part way through the season. If we get a period of COVID disruption or a really harsh winter due to global warming, everyone will start second guessing whether they can be more aggressive with chips as more will be offered to players.

Weirdly I think this favours people defending a lead, although it is bound to excite those chasing.

Our work leader had already banged his free hit, so yes, it sort of gets him out of jail for that difficult week when he'll have a struggle to get a team out for FA cup quarter final week.
However, we can use it for a difficult other week, like double game weeks :)

Only stipulation is that you can't use free hit over 2 consecutive game weeks.

Could be a great way to deal with Ronaldo for a double that he's likely to play in. And possibly manage having no Chelsea players while they're away for 2 game weeks.
