Definitely one of the better interviewers I’ve seen. She has some balls asking some of those questions, but it made for a fantastic insight.

He means the one where the female version of Rashford interviews him.

:lol: I though you were joking till I actually saw her face.

Not interested in hearing the interview though, as Lukaku is full of shite and all talk without nothing to show for, but that comment made me laugh.

Lukaku's going to be a interesting character around the club now as Jose, his favourite coach, has gone.
There's evidently a tension between him and a few players.

Lukaku can get lost. Never liked him much as a footballer but he seemed a nice guy and I could relate to his backstory.

However, he seems to have bought into his own hype and his head has become bigger than a hot air balloon. He also seems to have got used to his priviliged position due to Jose fanboying him and expecting to start no matter his form or how shite he's performing.

Well, I hope OGS brings him down to earth or even better move him on, so our young talent has the space to develop.

Seems to be going through the motions in the video interview, doesn't come across as professional as I'd expect. Everything seems like a big joke, similar attitude to Pogba.

When you say 'evidently' is that your observation or do you have any specific information about tensions?
Him and Pogba were best buds before he joined, doesn't seem that way anymore, going off their on field chemistry.

He won't be here next season. He will find it hard to get games in the second half of the season.

I normally don't even care about interviews of Liverpool let alone other players, but that one is excellent. Great questions.

Embarrassing interview, I'm guessing this is his routine when out in LA.

Maybe I developed a bias against him but his reactions and answers made me cringe.

He has a weak mentality. He talks a big game but there's a fragile ego behind it. Remember his non celebrations last season after he had goal drought? Weak player.

Not sure after that interview. Seems quite smug. Another person that has to go. He’s not as good as he acts. I would rather we play Martial, Rashford and Lingard ahead of this clown. Hopefully Ole sorts him out.

I didn't like his comments regarding Scholes.

Interviewer pointed out that Scholes' belief is that Lukaku doesn't work hard enough. Lukaku's response is, "Well, when I see Scholes in person he shakes my hand and doesn't say it to my face. But then, he's a pundit and is paid to say things."

That's passing the buck, isn't it? Deal with the criticism. Just because it comes from Scholes in a studio and not to your face, doesn't make it any less valid.

Yeah that was a bit special, what does he expect? Scholes doesn't have a personal problem with him, he will act normally when they meet.

I can see him getting sold in in a year or two if he keeps on talking and not doing what he is paid for. I just hope someone is silly enough to give us a large portion of our money back.

Yup! Besides that, Scholes is not just some random paid pundit. If anything, he's more invested emotionally into Manchester United than Romelu is, so, any criticisms of Romelu aren't going to be sensationalistic. Scholes thinks like a fan, because, he is one. Most of the stuff he says is exactly the same as what most of the stuff on Redcafe reads.

Is Lukaku still our first choice striker or has Rashford rightfully earned the spot? Obviously most fans would back Rashford over Lukaku but I'm not sure if Ole and the coaching staff have the same opinion. They might still feel that Rom is first choice and that the last 6 months was just bad timing with him bulking and losing form and our whole team playing horrible football.

He’s on compassionate leave apparently for the rest of the month.

No idea why.
To mourn over his loss re. Jose? ;)

On a serious note, i believe there is a very good player in him. But now it is up to him to show it and for the time being, the inform players will play

Have a feeling he's been told to sort out his weight. His brother is still with the Lazio squad.

This, even heavy Lukaku would be ridiculously quick over distance in a straight line. The problem is that type of speed is less useful than one might think in football. Acceleration, agility and balance are what really matter for most players, as well as having exceptional stamina. Adding unnecessary bulk will not help any of those attributes.
Lukaku is ridiculously quick period. He has registered 2-3 of the quickest speeds on the pitch for us from the whole squad last season. I have no idea why he felt he needed to get bigger.
A slimmer Lukaku for Everton was unplayable at times, just keep that level and focus on improving your weak areas.

Impossible to say really as we have no idea how highly any of them rate Lukaku.

In reality though both will get gametime and if one plays better than the other..... *shrugs*

That's definitely what I would have done if I came in as new manager. Give him time off to get his body and head back in shape.

Would seem bizzare to describe it as compassionate leave when you could just say he was injured instead though, so I doubt that's what has happened.

Was it officially described as compassionate leave?

I dont get it, has he added too much muscle or got too fat?
Muscle I suspect. I'm not an expert but I'd suspect too much muscle or too much fat have similar consequences.

Yeah, cause people act like he's gotten obese. Although yeah, muscle or fat, it seriously hampered his play.
