Have you ever seen him play?
I have seen 1-2 full games for recreational gambling purposes, otherwise only highlights.

I´m just saying that in the current market, unless there are some huge agent fees attached, for €18M there is no risk. Worst case you ship him to China for the same amount.

I remember how hyped up this kid was. What a fall from grace
Never got the hyper surrounding him and another Everton player (think it was Gosling).

Rodwell seemed the usual English breed of huffing and puffing but not even remotely good enough technically to be an important player at a big club. Always unimpressed whenever I saw him play.

Did Gosling ever get that much hype? Think it was just him scoring a last minute goal against Liverpool, don't remember any significant hype around him like there was around Rodwell.

A friend of mine is an avid Argyle fan and used to rave about Gosling before he went to Everton, but he seemed to get a bit lost there.

€18M release clause for a 24 year old Brazilian international and best player of the Copa Libertadores. That sounds too good to be true. :(
And got voted the best player plying his trade in South America by sport journalists from the entire continent. It used to be a great indicator but has gone a bit funny lately with over the hill returnees like Verón and Ronaldinho winning it. Still, absolutely worth a punt.

Gosling got a couple of goals for Everton and all of a sudden was at Newcastle. Jeffers is another one. Think they are better than they are and not willing to wait the rewards at their present club.

Thats a criminal if true, not only he isnt worth to Newcastle/Benitez 8 mil. but Benitez crying for funds and they wont let go a player who is billion miles away from Benitez`s plans when it comes to first team.

Has he underperformed at Inter or is he another one who got overrated?
Don't watch much Serie A but I have searched Inter forum earlier when we were connected to him, and they were all heavily complaining about his shooting, decision making and finishing.

Yeah, I was watching Inter highlights and he misses quite a few sitters.

West Ham are the kinda club that seem to never have any real plan, but whenever a 'name' becomes available from a bigger club, they latch onto. they seem to think that if their team is made up of ex 'big club' players, that's somehow a sign of how big they are too, without too much thought into fit, form, etc.

He's my go to signing in fifa when I start careers with league 2 teams.
Probably a very good signing. Hegazi and him have been great for Egypt.

Come to think of it, Egypt have some pretty good players now: Salah, Hegazi, Ali Gabr, Elneny, Sobhi. I think them or Senegal have a chance to go far in the world cup, with both countries having groups which are definitely not the hardest by a long way.

@el3mel opinion on Ali Gabr?

Ali Gabr has been very underwhelming this season with Zamalek, but the setup at WBA will probably help him not get exposed and will highlight his good qualities.

He has been a very good defender for a couple of seasons but his performance dropped a bit these last 2 years. I still think he'll be good for WBA as they defend by big numbers and he'll play as a box defender most of times and he's good at it.

I've only seen Luan 3-4 times, but he struck me as another Ganso, i.e. too slow of body and mind to cope with the pace of top european football
