Anyone got a link to the video of DT saying he'll drink bleach if Sanchez comes to us please?

There are mediocre NBA players who earn 14 million a year... granted they play more games and there are less players per team... but it seems that the elite EPL players are only finally earning what they probably should have been earning, rather than being overpaid. LeBron James earns 31 million in basketball, Clayton Kershaw earns 33 million in baseball, Tom Brady earns 21 million playing American football. Granted, America is a larger market... but if you take into account Champions league... international popularity and the huge worldwide audience along with the EU population alone... 14 million seems pretty reasonable for the top players in the top 5 football leagues.
On the other hand, their season is 6 months long, 7.5 months if they go to the finals, while an EPL season is 9 months, stretching to 9.5 if they make a European final.

But I agree with your point when comparing it to American sports. Messi and Neymar (maybe Ronaldo?) are in that LeBron/Kershaw range. But that next tier of player just below the very top seem to be paid less in football than American sports.

Negative PR for United. If Sanchez fails, that gives them another reason to go after United and Mourinho.
The other aspect though is their top players will now have a new benchmark to go after. Imagine Harry Kane's agent at his next contract discussion.

Can someone calculate Pep's summer spending in the same way the press are doing for Sanchez - fee + salary + agent fee + every last detail and tweet it to all these journos spewing inaccurate figures. It literally must be billions spent in one transfer window
I wouldn't matter, it doesn't suit their narrative. They often over report fees like this, it's not uncommon for them to add transfer + Wages when it's a number that grabs the attention, I'm pretty sure they reported the Neymar deal as a £500mil transfer more than once.

Much as they're wrong, quite why we're supposed to be embarrassed about the figures been reported is a mystery to me, we've got it, so we'll spend it, long may it continue.

What ever the wage/transfer fee is, have no doubt Alex Sanchez would be a hit. This is not like Lukaku transfer where people were worried about the quality of player we're getting. His dribbling is on Hazard/Coutinho level and his finishing is better.

I am loving all these tears from the opposition fans. It's amazing and it's glorious!
You've got a reply from a fan on bluemoon:

No you daft rag, they are tears of laughter because your desperation in wanting to sign him has led your club to get bent over the barrel. Not just once but twice if you factor in pogbad transfer

I think he's a bit butthurt.

There doesn't seem to be a single journalist who speaks well about united or put proper figures when it comes to our transfers. They just slash nonsense numbers or add all the addons to make the deal as expensive as possible. Martial (80m), Pogba (120m), Lukaku (90m) and now Sanchez (180m). While all the other transfers done by City and Chelsea are described as bargains. City have spent 130m on full backs, have 3 of the top 5 most expensive defenders ever and no one talks about Saint Pep spending money to buy the league but we spend some omney and we hear thousand of articles about our money and crazy spending, adding up fantasy numbers to make the villain of the media.

Honestly feck the English media.

That's brilliant.
I don't know what is more funny, Jose and Pogba forcing him out of the building, while Miki screams, shouts and protests.
Or Wenger and Cech, grabbing him from the floor, by the collar and forcing him into the car.

They should be jailed for spouting as much shit as they are.
Can't believe these idiots are getting paid for lying through their teeth.
This press Fake news fest is going year after year. Always the same
About right, considering how many people will give their favorite credit for breaking a transfer story while 10 other people give credit to their own favorite. None of them being able to prove that their favorite actually was the first to break a transfer story. People confuse someplace being the first place they heard about it as being the same as "breaking the story"
Who gives a bollox about who breaks the story. Unless there is someone handing out cash or medals for the person it matters not a jot

As a Lakers and United fan... I find it absurd that Jordan Clarkson and KCP get paid more than someone of Alexis's quality. He should get paid 500k per week if you go by international standards for other sports. If the players are getting less... it means the money's only going into the pockets of the owners who are already getting enough going by the enormous valuations of the teams.

He's got 172 posts in that thread - 15 today mostly going on about how Sanchez is greedy and we're the only club in the world who'd pay his exorbitant wages with City, Bayern and PSG having the moral sense not to take the deal.
Saw that. I absolutely love these tears from any club who was priced out. :D

That's page 4327!!! What the actual feck? They have no fans to be posting and have failed the transfer and they're worse Muppets than us! I thought this place was another level in transfer muppetry, but now I understand we're only Sunday league.
They only have 10 posts per page as they're incapable of reading more than that on one page (we have 40). Sanchez thread is something like their 2nd most posted thread in their history whereas it would barely make the top 10 here.
