Alexis Sanchez | Done deal

I really don’t see how. We’ve gone big on a world class player, who has a fever options, one of whom are the league leaders managed by someone he’s worked with before. If he goes there, or somewhere else, I’d prefer to see us trying to sign players like him, who could genuinely elevate us, than some of the players who have passed through the doors of late. Personally, I don’t think there’s any shame in missing out on something like this, if you’ve done all you can do. Hanging back because we’re terrified we might look daft would be much worse, IMHO.

Couldn't agree more. Hopefully, whether we sign him or not, this sets a marker for what level of players we are going after, that immediately improve us.

Woody loves a big transfer.

Surely if it comes to it city will just pay the extra 10m and 400k per week. It actually does work out as an expensive deal i the deal for a player with 6 months tbf... 35m to arsenal, 30m sign on fee, 5-10m for agent before then making him city's best paid player in a year that he is 30?

Perhaps after weighing up the pros and cons of the whole situation, he has decided his future lies with United. For starters his most favoured position is something that United desperately need quality in, City on the otherhand are choc-full of attacking talent. His playing time will increase significantly at United, as opposed to City where he will be fighting tooth a nail for a starting spot.

Feel like this will be a great bonus signing but given I never expected him to come to United until recent days, I'll hardly be devastated if City seal the deal.

Would be a good boost for the CL this season if United can get it over the line.

Cocks in or cocks out lads?

Where tge good old its-on-o-meter

Zipper half down, but thats all. All still speculation and nothing confirmed officially - or even between clubs.

Personally I cant see him not at City.. Pep, and lets face it, they can match wages easily.

If he really signs, I think it's time now to tattoo Di Marzio name on our arms after all these transfers he broke for us.

We won't announce it before Arsenal's match, as no-one wants Arsene to be pelted with avocados.

If it's us then I do feel sorry for Arsenal. Must be horrible to once again watch their best player go to one of their main rivals for "pennies". They did get Sol though, which was worse.

I never feel sorry for our rivals.
I want to crush them. Especially MCFC and Pep Guardiola.
Words cannot describe how badly I want us to beat that team. But generally, I want us to beat every team we play. No mercy and no remorse.

No one seems to think United can do this.

Souness not even mentioning United.
I wouldnt read anything in to souness's opinion. He is so bitter and hates us so much it warps his judgement. He is like a toddler putting his fingers in his ears and shouting loudly blocking out reality.

He's no oracle. English journos have no clue on this transfer. Even Stone has simply been spouting his opinion as opposed to sourcing information throughout this transfer.
It's so tiring hearing Simon Stone on 5 Live spin one inference of a rumour he's heard into a painfully slowly iterated three minute answer. What makes it worse is he has the voice of the dourest man on the bus.

Still think city will sign him just so that we don't get him. I don't think they will stand by and see us strengthen when they know he would come to them if they agree terms.

Hope I'm wrong though for obvious reasons.

Christ. I put my phone down to go take my morning shit and come back to 2 pages more.

Fact that Sanchez is not in the squad means he’s moving this week for sure. Hope Ed gets this one over the line.
