Alexis Sanchez | Done deal

Still think city will sign him just so that we don't get him. I don't think they will stand by and see us strengthen when they know he would come to them if they agree terms.

Hope I'm wrong though for obvious reasons.
I think you may be wrong my friend. Look at what Di Marzio is saying we're definitely favourites to sign him.

I think Arsenal would much prefer to sell to us so we don't compete with them for Malcom if Sanchez joins City.

Please delete this thread if he goes somewhere else - the reminder of how convinced we all were, plus the field day rival forums will have, would be too much to bear.

Woody loves a big transfer.

Technically, he's a great signing on relatively cheap terms due to his contract situation. It was always a no-brainer, but the discreet approach to steal him from City was terrific.

I'll salute Ed after I see what he does in the summer. Dybala.

Christ. I put my phone down to go take my morning shit and come back to 2 pages more.

Fact that Sanchez is not in the squad means he’s moving this week for sure. Hope Ed gets this one over the line.

That should be a lesson to take your phone with you to the bathroom next time.

Shay Given is a boring plonker with a head like a potato.

I saw Given at Macclesfield railway station a few months ago. Short for a keeper but still a giant compared to my 5ft 6.

Also, his head is more like a rubber on the end of a pencil.

While we're off topic, I saw Rooney in Tesco at Handforth a few weeks before Christmas. That lad needs new hair plugs.

When Wenger says he doesn't know which way it'll go, he's obviously talking about staying vs leaving and not United vs City.

Of course, he is leaving, but he just gave the sensible answer. No way he confirms his departure in a pre-match interview and completely take focus off the game.

I don’t understand why City haven’t gazumped us (back). £10m and whatever else in wages is pocket change for them.

I’m not complaining though, we’re getting Arsenal’s best player. And possibly second to come in the summer. Manchestarsenal Utd.

You are wrong :) dont mess up the party mate :)

You're all in for a big let down here lads.

All these pages of chat based on Twitter rubbish. He's going to City.

Surely if it comes to it city will just pay the extra 10m and 400k per week. It actually does work out as an expensive deal i the deal for a player with 6 months tbf... 35m to arsenal, 30m sign on fee, 5-10m for agent before then making him city's best paid player in a year that he is 30?
Apart from the 35 million to Arsenal, where are you getting the rest of those numbers from?

There is a phrase- "May god give that you have and then have not". My feelings now. Few days ago he was future city player. Then this hope last two days. And now if he goes to city.... it will be punch in the face.
I am glad that this will be over today. One way or another

Could be that they're worried about FFP and are probably looking at the league table wondering why they need another attacker.

Dont think so. Maybe after Tomorrow.

Not at all. I just think the powers that be have said £20-£25 million is more than enough for someone with only a few months left on his contract. I do believe the wages is also a major factor and his agent has moved the goalpost regarding this.

Jesus now coming back in 2-3 weeks and a 15 point lead will be taken into account too.

Great signing though regardless of money and his age.
If he does end up here it'll be interesting with regard to City's tactics. Are the board getting a bit complacent? I mean you could understand letting this one go with Jesus back so soon and already having stacks of talent in positions, but like the Alves transfer, it felt like City sort of had it in the bag.

Also wonder on the future ramifications. Does Aguero stay long term, or is the relationship between him and Pep just one that'll never gel? Will they go for an alternative to Alexis? I.E. another attacker who can play at the highest level across all 4 spots -- A Griezmann, a Dybala, a Fekir?

These “late swoop” tactics has Mourinho’s fingerprints all over it. Let another club do the dirty work of unsettling a player, and then strike when the iron is hot. I’m bought in. It’s us, he’s ours I think.

He won’t go anywhere else. I think it’s all but done.

I was honestly more confident of this one a few days ago than I am now. Heart saying he's ours, but head much more cynical. I guess that's the way the two generally go though.

His wage demands are substantially high. Were City to agree to meet his demands, the rest of their players will most certainly want parity to that which Sanchez is earning.

Also I get the feeling that Sanchez would prefer United for playing purposes.
