Rio makes some good points, but I believe he's missed some things out.

The thing Sanchez has to think about is game time, he wants to play. With Manchester City's current squad I do not at all see Sanchez playing game in game out for them, he'll be on the bench from time to time. At United, he'll be on the pitch consistently. If he wants to move now and wants money, United is the place, they are prepared to offer more than City. If he wants to reunite with Pep and win trophies this season that he'll barely contribute to, go to City.

Pep isn't desperate to get him anymore, they aren't willing to pay as much as United, showing perhaps that Pep doesn't need Alexis relating to my first point (gametime). Long term Man Utd, Mou will most definitely want a Prem title with Man Utd before he leaves and Sanchez can help that happen. Short term Man City, they could win every trophy with the way they are going.
Sanchez is 29, he doesn't have much of a window. For pure footballing reasons he should join City, they're going to win a lot more than us in the near future while play attacking football where talented forwards can flourish.

The only reason he would pick us over City would be money.

Yeah who doesn't. They tend to cost extra though, let's hope Woodward is willing to pay up.
He has to know he can save up to 80m or so in the next summer if we get someone like Sanchez this window. IMO it's not about some few millions now it's about Sanchez if he really wants to join City to win the league this year.

Garbage.

If that's the case why did any player choose Madrid over Barca in the last decade? Including 2007/08 Madrid has won the title three times in a decade. In that time Barcelona has won two trebles. Yet many players chose not to join the all conquering team but to be part of Madrid's rebuilding project, including our much beloved former player (and Rio's ex-teammate) Cristiano Ronaldo.

Why the likes of Modric and Kroos not go to the team that was winning six trophies in a year? Nobody can argue based on trophies won in the past decade that Barca was a better bet for silverware after all (and City hasn't even won the title yet!?) There were several years when Madrid could not even make it past the last 16 in the Champions League.

Everyone crapping on the idea of Alexis choosing Old Trafford over Wastelands is ignoring the allure of being the catalyst to reviving a great club. Yes, obviously, we are behind City currently. The table tells that story. However, that's not a static situation. Big players will be attracted by the romance of becoming that guy who puts United back on top.

Jenas was spot on, City have said they are not going above 20 million because they know he only want's to go to them. If he doesn't go for the 20 million the table he goes for nothing in the summer.

Arsenal will have more money offered by us but a player wanting to go for the 20 million to City...

Horrible situation for them.

Wonder if Rio would be bigging up City if SAF was still in charge at Utd? .....my guess is he'd be saying feck all
The thing is if someone doesn't know Rio they would thought he is trying to convince Sanchez to join City, you can win the league, Fa cup and have good go in C.L blah blah.

We can't do business until the NYSE opens.
Yes we can do business while the NYSE is closed as we have done many times, including Pogba. So we could sign anyone at any time.

Shrager is one of those ones that always has a lot of shite to say during the window, isn't he? Or am I confusing him with someone else? It's just such an easy thing to talk about and get retweets and attention.

Yeah, I doubt any of our former players would have said anything negative if SAF was still here. I'm not saying he's wrong but I didn't like him saying that. He could have just said Sanchez should join United with a smile and stop there. That negativity made him drop in my eyes... honestly.

Jenas has always been quick to talk us down, it's a tad confusing why though.
Has nobody brought up that this is the second transfer window that City have dicked Sanchez around?
Its almost identical to DDG and that's why he's with us today.
I can't believe pundits can't see beyond short term thinking. City are miles ahead of us at the minute but so were Utd v Chelsea when they stole Robben, Drogba and Essien from us.
If we had the same situation last year every pundit would be amazed how anyone could turn Chelsea when we were in 6th place.

This season yes. Next season who knows? Next year starts from zero. And we will buy 2,3 new players. So it is not like city has super squad which will rule for years.
Also vanity is inside every person. I read somewhere that even herrera sold more shirts than any city player. We are hollywood. Always on front pages. They are just strong club.
And that quote "only" for money? Money is a big issue here. We are talking about at least 10-15 mil more( if you include fee, wages, sponsors). Yes he earned a lot in his career but he is not abramovich or trump that he can say ; " 15 mil? Peanuts"

Edit: alexis already won a lot in his career so it is not like he is that hungry for medals

Really, for pure footballing reasons he should join City?

Do you mind telling us in what sport are we involved? Is it badminton or softball?

I cant believe man utd xbox fans putting man city on a stool. Disgraceful, sick to my stomach!

"I've been asked to keep quiet, but I'm going to use my verified Twitter account to tell you what I've been told. But keep it under your hat on this public forum everybody on earth can see."

Oooh, he's crafty, that Shrager.
