Harry Kane MBE | Performances

Wouldn't put him in the same bracket as Lewa just yet, the guy is phenomenal and that includes in the Champions League. Suarez has been suffering recently, or so I've heard, so that's less controversial, but peak Suarez was still in a different bracket. I'd still say Kane is a world class striker though, he's such an accurate striker of the ball with both feet, and more than handy in his build-up play too. It shall be interesting to see how long he stays at Spurs for.

Kane would absolutely boss it in the Bayern side. He needs to leave Spurs to get the respect IMO.

It's a hypothetical though. It's impossible to say if Kane could replicate Lewandowski's performances for Bayern (or Dortmund for that matter, where he was just as good), especially in Europe.

Absolutely.

Same goes for the likes of Eriksen and Alli. Were these guys playing for a more prestigious club such as Bayern, Real or indeed United, their pedigree would increase three-fold.

I'd be confident that Kane would succeed if he replaced Lewandowski but he wouldn't be as efficient as him. I don't think Kane would fare as well in the Champions League either.

Looking at the stats Lewandowski has only ever so slightly bettered Kane's GPG ratio from last season but with slightly more shots per game on average. That's in a much better side, especially within the context of the leagues.

When talking about strikers we have to distinguish between two things: how many goals woudl he score at a given team from how many goals the team would score by having him. IMO, Kane would score as many as Lewy or thereabouts. But I'm not sure that Bayern's attack as a whole would be as good as it is with Lewy.

What I like about Kane is that he's very capable of scoring outside the box. And I don't mean just hitting it as hard as he can, I mean well-placed finishes in a corner.

World class arguments are tedious because no one has a set definition of world class.

For some it means you have to be a shoe in for a World XI which Kane is not. For others it's merely being a top level player, which of course he is.

Anytime someone says the words World Class, they should be made to explain what their definition of World Class is.
Thats a good definition. alternatively "he wouldn't look out of place in a world 11"

One of the best strikers in the world.

Totally agree. He scores with both feet and his head, from any range and even throws in set pieces for good measure.

Simply can't argue the fact that he's one of the worlds top strikers.

That's not the most sensible definition, as that means there can only be 11 world class players at any given time.

To be honest I can't think of 11 truly world class players right now. Used to be easy.

Complete striker, he can score goals with his head, left foot, right foot. Still relatively young and English aswell. I thought he was a one season wonder but every season after he has delivered the goods.

Cheeky bid if/when he ever leaves Spurs.

Also depends entirely on formation, also there are many better attackers than their our defenders these days, that's like saying Carvajal is world-class but Hazard, Sanchez, Aguero, Suarez, Lewandowski aren't 'cos they don't get in the world XI ahead of Ronaldo, Messi and Neymar.

I'm struggling to understand those who keeps saying he's not world class, he's overrated.. etc. They seem to say that because.... he's just English or what ? There's obsession of making each English player an inevitable flop.

Could tell in his first season it wasn't a purple patch. The guy is top quality.

He is an excellent finisher. Especially composed finishes.

Arguably only Messi betters him in that regard.

It's what Brits do best.

Build them up to knock them down.

He's a proper, all-round goalscorer. He doesn't have the panache or intuitiveness that we come to associate with strikers these days, but he can mix it up. Of course Eriksen and Alli play a big part, but I'd go as far as to say if he played for City, United or Chelsea they'd wrap up the title. And he'd certainly solve Arsenal's striker problems if Wenger played him in the right position.

I'd love to see him at a team like Juventus or Bayern & really give it a go if spurs don't make the step up themselves.

Obviously I'd have him here in an instant but not going to happen.

Just seen all the goals, pretty poor defending by APOEL overall but you can only beat what's in front of you, he didn't even look like he was breaking a sweat on any of them, great composure, accuracy and intelligent movement on all 3.

Seems like he has a promising future. Just my amateur observations. One of these days he ll become a good if not great striker. Kinda reminds me of a young Welbeck.
