Messi signs a new deal and now Ronaldo wants to "leave". The guy has decided to leave clubs more times than anyone else ever probably  He'll have a nice new contract in a months time.

The club has him locked down to a 4 yr contract and it would look terrible if they are seen to be compensating him for evading taxes. I know Ronaldo is throwing a tantrum but the tax case has nothing to do with the club so, there's nothing he can achieve by getting the club on his side.
Will refer you to Marca /AS/Abola: Ronaldo communicates irreversible decision to leave Madrid
The problem with his taxes comes from his image rights between 2011 and 2014. An arrangement he would have made with the club and they would have signed on to. He probably feels the club is responsible for putting him in this mess.
I don't agree but that's how he would see it.

Ronaldo certainly feels like it does. It'll be resolved by the club soon enough.

why couldn't this have happened 3 years ago?
Because Ronaldo only really uses us to get a pay rise. Ramos learned well.
I don't want Ronaldo back here. He left for his best years and will cost a huge amount. He only stayed here one extra year because of all the indulgence Fergie showed towards him? Remember the circus? Ugh. No thanks. Great player but he's only got a few years left. Let him retire at real or PSG etc

He'd be the most marketable player in the biggest team in the most watched league in the world.

Get Jose, Woody, The Boss, Sir Bobby, the ghost of Sir Matt and Paddy Crerand over to Madrid now to bring him home.

We'd guarantee ourselves the league for the next 3 years and have a crack at the Champions League.

Also, I know this is not happening. But still, one can dream.

Hasn't Ibra shown this season that world class players who look after themselves can play well into their 30s?

He'd instantly become the best player in the league by some distance but you'd prefer us to focus on youth? Crazy talk. Also, he's going to cost a hell of a lot more than £60 million.
And you'd prefer to let our rivals cherry-pick our best players, keep them for their prime years and then sell us them back at a profit? That's insane, sorry.

I don't think he's bluffing this time, this could be his last shot at another massive contract. There's a lot of money to be made from a move to PSG, much more than renewing his current contract. He wants the tax money.

Like many said here, he will probably stay. Looking to pressure real pay and solve his tax fraud case in spain. He will leave only if real do not want to keep him

I'm trying to tell myself it is not true, that if he leaves it for PSG, and that he has a bad relationship with Mou. But, like with anything you love, you act irrationally, and therefore I am now fully emotionally invested in this.

Really do not want. His stats are there and he scores regularly, but his overall game already declined massively and it won't change. He is too old to build a team around him. I know it's becoming a cliche and people say it every season for a past few seasons, but at some point he will stop scoring goals and injuries might kick in. Knowing our luck, it would be with us...
Plus, he is very toxic and impatient with inexperienced players, I don't think he would work well with Rashford, Martial, even Pogba...

He's 32 and has a 4 year contract. He's not signing a new deal. The amount of people who are taking this seriously...

In many respects this makes sense for Ronaldo. He goes out on top. CL glory and history, top all time scorer, remembered at his peak. So I'll just leave you with the only four words that really matter:

Edward Woodward; King Muppet.

If it is just a method of getting more money, it's a twatty way of going about it. If I was a Madrid fan I'd be pissed at his constant threats.
