Cristiano Ronaldo | Transfer Speculation

Let's ignore the highly likely chance that this is all made up. Ronaldo is easily worth bringing back. If Zlatan at 35 can do what he did for us, CR7 can literally win us the league twice.

But then at the same time, I don't for a second believe he is actually intending to leave. He already settled down in Madrid, and having to raise his kid, I seriously doubt he would think of leaving the city, let alone country this soon after the tax incident. I think this is just fishing for a bigger contract at RM. This is soon to say "irreversible". At most he is entertaining the chance.

Waiting to see Ronaldo paying a massive fine now to the Spanish government which is subsidized 110% by a Real Madrid bonus payment and then everyone is happy again. Except those who believed that this might be the reason he finally comes home.
This.

This. Just him winning us the league ONCE would be worth every penny.

Yeah but maybe he feels there are better places to raise a kid? If he raises him in Spain then he might be bullied for having a dad who's not as good as messi where as at and English school...no one would give a bleep :)

That is because he is in a league where there is also a team playing with a player called Messi.
Eh, we don't have Barcelona/Messi in the Premier League.
But we do have Chelsea with Hazard, City with Pep Guardiola, Tottenham, Liverpool and Arsenal. The PL is more harder to win then the laliga and Ronaldo can struggle here.

I don't think he'll leave, but if it's true, he still has 4 years running in his contract so Madrid will demand for in insane fee and Ronaldo himself will ask for a huge wage! I don't think he's worth the money we'll be spending on him! It'll be a very risky move for a 32 year old player.

I think Ronaldo would win us the league comfortably. Thinking back to last season - I'm pretty sure we'd be champions if we had Ronaldo. You cannot underestimate how scared teams would be. That would allow more space for other players. There would be challenging games but even against Chelsea - we didn't fare too barely. Ronaldo would make us comfortable. It's extremely unlikely but then again I thought that french lad was a certainty to come here but didn't with a lame excuse.

Madrid might look at the situation and think....how good can Morata be? If they sign Mbappe then who knows? They might think now is the time to freshen it up. Ronaldo will never be worth more to them then now. United might be interested bearing in mind the market is crazy. No doubt about it. We've seen this a million times but who knows? I think he would give everyone such a boost and if you think positive then maybe you give yourself better possibilities.

What do people consider to be a fair price for him? I'd be happy with 90-100 million tbh

None of them even close to the level of that Barca team that stopped Madrid winning leagues and none with a player of the quality of Messi. A player like Ronaldo would guarantee the league for any team in the top 6 in England I reckon. A prime Ronaldo, certainly.

Its not a foregone conclusion. The 3 seasons he won the league here, only 06-07 can be described as comfortable. It went down to the wire in 07-08 and 08-09, in a league with only 3 comparably strong teams instead of 5 and while the current top teams are weaker than their 08 counterpart (with the exception of Spurs), the small teams are harder to crack.

The more likely scenario if we do sign him is that he'd put up comparable, or slightly better number than Zlatan did last season, while required all of our team to play around him, and on an astronomical wage to boot. Zlatan was on a free, Ronaldo will be bloody expensive, required to be on a long contract and he's had ankle issues for years. It'd be a very irresponsible signing, at best.

Probably the Mbappe money outright. Then next summer let's bring in Dembele.

Do not want, what would it mean for the development of Harrop, Chong and the youngsters at the club? That's not what United is about. I would literally explode in my own juices if we brought Ronaldo back, I'm ready to let this rumour fully consume me.

Not to be a muppet killer, but i was under the impression Ronaldo and Mourinho did not like each other?

So if he would move from Real the chances for Ronnie to join us is very slim anyway.

Real will probably officially defend Ronnie in a statement and helping him pay the taxes. End of story.

I'm hearing that this is more of Jorge Mendes being pissed at Madrid for how it's treated it's players this season. Relations between him and Madrid are not as rosy as they once where, and he doesn't want to be painted as the guy who cannot get his players proper fiscal advice.

Jose probably sent Ronaldo a fax saying, let me pay your tax bill for you bro..something like that.

The problem is, nobody can/will hold the papers accountable for the bullshit they're spewing. If Marca say his decision is irreversible, when he inevitably stays, they should explain. But of course they won't because it's a load of crap.

Way, way more.

The figures that are going round for the likes of Morata, Lukaku and Morata, even Griez, for me, push Ronaldo, well over £100mil, probably closer to £150mil.

Forget his age, his is the best player (or joint best player) in the world and has been for nearly a decade, no-one in the 2nd tier comes remotely close. He scores goals for fun, could play for another 5 years at the top level, and he will remain one of the most marketable players well after he has hung up his boots.

It's isn't happening, but if it did, you are talking numbers that are well and truly mind blowing.

. Also, he's toxic? He's a mentor to all the young guys that are coming into the portuguese national team. He's one of the leaders of the dressing room in both Madrid and Portugal.
I know he is a leader but he is very impatient and nervous during the game. He is easily frustrated when his teammates misplace a simple pass or when they try some long-range shots instead of passing.
Can you imagine his reaction after Rashford goes behind touchline with the ball for the second time in a row?
I really don't think he would have a positive influence on him and bunch of others with even weaker mentality.
We need a Zlatan type leader.

To train with Ronaldo? Would be worth that experience alone. Not that its going to happen though.

If thats what he has told Real (in order to strong-arm a new contract or get them to pay his tax bill) then they are reporting the truth (his stance)
If he does a uturn after he gets what he wants, thats nothing to do with Marca

Not that I am saying Marca are not bullshitting btw

Another for the PRO column... It would be in our interest to break the world transfer record to bring him back. The pressure on Pogba would be greatly lifted, and Ronaldo has the shoulders for it. You'd get more out of both players.

OK, Guarantee was obviously too strong. It's not a foregone conclusion.

But I'd be willing to bet a lot of my hard earned cash on us winning the league if he returned. He's that good. And those league he won with United, he was only reaching his prime. He reached another level at Madrid. Whether or not a 32 year old Ronaldo would sustain that standard is another question, I suppose.

Anyway, it's all nonsense, because he's not coming back.

To me it seems like plenty of players on your squad could learn a lot from his mentality. And not just the young ones. Not that this matters anyway because there's no way it happens

Do not want. Perisic is Mourinho style player and perfect to system, like we have heard many times.

RonaldON!!!

As much as I don't believe this will ever happen, I would fecking LOVE it to!

Zlatan has proven a mid 30's player can do what's needed, and I don't doubt Ronaldo couldn't do the same!

£150 million, 3 year contract he'd certainly be worth the goods! 100 goals in 3 years, we'd be competing at the top which would bring his fee back easy!
