Cristiano Ronaldo | Transfer Speculation

Not happening. The government effectively are prosecuting him, the government effectively own Real, he'll get a fine if that.
He's going nowhere.
Using that logic, it is amazing the government have brought up this case on him then isn't it?

A whole 3 years younger than Zlatan.

Come home and break Rooney's record!

De Gea

Valencia Baiily Lindelof Alaba

Pogba Veratti

Ronaldo Mkhitaryan Martial

Morata

Only need to sign 3 more players to have the greatest team ever seen.

Until I see it on the yellow ticker on SSN it's just the same rubbish we get excited for every single summer.

They won't even do us a favour over Morata, what chance they roll over and let us sign Ronaldo

Waiting to see Ronaldo paying a massive fine now to the Spanish government which is subsidized 110% by a Real Madrid bonus payment and then everyone is happy again. Except those who believed that this might be the reason he finally comes home.

Even our board will come to the decision that what it will cost for a 32 year old won't be regained in marketing (and probable success for a season or two). The transfer fee, his wages.

Meanwhile, assuming Mourinho has a plan, it all gets dumped for Plan Ronaldo.

Unless City want to spend the same fortune primarily to annoy us, I'm not sure what his escape route can be.

Really do not want. His stats are there and he scores regularly, but his overall game already declined massively and it won't change. He is too old to build a team around him. I know it's becoming a cliche and people say it every season for a past few seasons, but at some point he will stop scoring goals and injuries might kick in. Knowing our luck, it would be with us...
Plus, he is very toxic and impatient with inexperienced players, I don't think he would work well with Rashford, Martial, even Pogba...

OK, this is really just a joke thread but I can't let this one go. Our biggest problem at the moment is converting chances into goals. Have you watched Ronaldo recently, he is practically guaranteed a goal a game and in the really big games, he will definitely grab 2 if not a hat trick. So his overall game and attitude towards team mates are irrelevant. He guarantees goals, end of. Having said all that, there is no way he is ever coming back.

We will pay for their Mbappe by bringing Ronaldo home, welcome back CR7 !

don't think so but what the hell

There's so much that's wrong with this :wenger:

He'd be your best player by miles and he still has 3 years at a top level at the very least. He'd turn you automatically into Premier League favourites and Champions League contenders. Also, he's toxic? He's a mentor to all the young guys that are coming into the portuguese national team. He's one of the leaders of the dressing room in both Madrid and Portugal.

I don't know much about Spain's politics, but I think Real have enough power to resolve this tax issue easier than Barca. Ronaldo isn't going anywhere.

I think £100m would be a fair price for him.

Real surely wouldn't sell for less than £200m though.

Plus Perez refuses to be forced to sell. He's all about image

Don't think he'll leave and have gone down this road before so not getting my hopes up no matter what. Having said that, in the slight chance he does become available I would take him here and convert him into a No.9. There's no better goalscorer on the planet.

Because Ronaldo only really uses us to get a pay rise. Ramos learned well.
I don't want Ronaldo back here. He left for his best years and will cost a huge amount. He only stayed here one extra year because of all the indulgence Fergie showed towards him? Remember the circus? Ugh. No thanks. Great player but he's only got a few years left. Let him retire at real or PSG etc

Yeah. It would be shit winning the league for the next three years.

Tax has become a very politicised issue in Spain.
The government won't want to be seen as going easy on anyone, Real or Barca affiliations aside.

Eh? His stint at Real has clearly shown he doesn't guarantee the league every year.
I guess he is referring to his guarantee of goals.
If Messi wasn't at Barca putting up comparably insane numbers Real would have won the league every year.

Messi and Ronaldo absolutely decimate shitty teams meaning they almost never lose games against small clubs.

No you are right, we have to worry about 5 other competitive teams, rather than just one.

None of them even close to the level of that Barca team that stopped Madrid winning leagues and none with a player of the quality of Messi. A player like Ronaldo would guarantee the league for any team in the top 6 in England I reckon. A prime Ronaldo, certainly.

After seeing a 35 yo Zlatan this year, there is no doubt in my mind that Ronaldo still has at least 3-4 years left at the highest level. This guy is probably the most professional and determined footballer around.

Won't happen. But at least the first interesting story since the whole Griezman saga ended.

For me, there's no way he leaves. I don't even think he'll sign a new contract, I think nothing will happen.

I haven't read the thread but i'm highly skeptical of anything coming out from "A Bola". It wouldn't surprise me if Ronaldo renews after the Confed Cup.

yeah but Ronaldo last season and we'd have been champions no doubt.

No, again

MARCA Senior Sub editor:

Let the bidding war start? Sounds like he's literally been fed this to try to get media attention. New contract written all over it

Same duration new terms imo.

Well he is about to get a massive fine so he probably could do with some more money. Probably last chance he'll ever have to get a big new contract with his age, he's just had one of the best seasons of his life so why not try

I think he's pissed off that Real
Madrid demanded their name taken off any articles related to the tax thing - Marca printed stuff like "footballer Ronaldo is implicated in tax evasion scheme"

They are gonna have to issue a few more grovelling apologies before he changes his mind.
