Jamie Vardy signs new contract at Leicester City

Happy for Leicester but i feel like he might regret that when he looks back on his career.

Depends, he's in a position now that he'd have only dreamt of a few years back.

Leicester have brought his dreams to life, and now he'll be on more money than he ever thought he'd get.

Fair play to him.

So it is possible to get deals done while players are at the Euros.

Good lad. Hope they keep that team together and have a right good go at everything this season. Really want to see what they can do in the CL. Going in to Pot 1 should give them a pretty good group.

He won the league with Leicester and is probably on the same wages as he would be at Arsenal. The only thing that would make it a regrettable decision is if Arsenal manage to win a CL or two/three league titles, how likely is that? He'll be just another player in Arsenal's attack and an even smaller one in their history.

He won't regret not finishing 4th every season with no chance of winning the league.

He already has more league medals than most of the Arsenal squad.

Silly decision, he is either delusional to think Leicester will do better than Arsenal or he lacks ambition.

I hope Leicester crumble next season, Vardy wont be recalled for the three lions anymore and that he will regret this decision for the rest of his life.

I mean he would have jumped at the chance of signing for a club like Arsenal his entire career but it never happened because he was a bit of a one trick shite lower league player. Now on the magic of last seadon he gets a once in a lifetime opportunity to still join such a club at age 29 and he doesnt take it. How foolish can you be ?

Good stuff. Will hopefully set a precedent for them. I'm keen to see all the main men from last season in Europe for them.

It'll probably end up with them being naive but with a good draw they could fire their way to the knockouts.

How many title winners do Arsenal have?

Leave now and his legacy is gone. Stay at Leicester, careers options for life.

He's go down as a legend at Leicester no matter what happens now.

People have been predicting his supposed decline for months now . Time and time again they have been wrong.

Think it's a good decision personally. Arsenal's style wouldn't suit him so why not stay at the club you've become a sort of cult hero at for similar wage where their style suits his?

Hardly - he has a Premiership winners medal - if he had been playing for Arsenal over the past few years he would have zero medals - his career is already better by being with Leicester.

Same salary.

I'd rather become a Leicester fairy tale legend rather than a 2 season nobody at arsenal.

He got his dream anyway, and i think he knows that it wont get better than last year and he just enjoy his club.

Legendary leicester legend james vardy vs. One season flop at arsenal

I'm happy for Leicester and I think it's the right move by him. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity for him to play for a major club but I actually do feel he's at his right shelf at Leicester. Doubt he could have cemented a starting spot at Arsenal. Hope Kanté and Mahrez follow Vardy's example. The Champions League will be an adventure for Leicester and I'm sure Vardy won't regret being a part of it.

Maybe Wilshere pi**es him off so much and he knows that Arsenal will not let him go even if they end up paying huge hospital bills for ages to come.

Tough one, but I think he's made the right choice. If it means being a Leicester legend for life, and ensuring his teammates stay and have another go next season, it's worth it.

What a load of complete and utter tosh - were you asleep throughout last season? Leicester are premiership champions - Arsenal are also rans. The arrogance in this post is laughable frankly, why would he leave a club that has just won the league to a club that hasn't won anything for years? This 'big club' crap is just sour grapes - times have changed and now all the clubs in the top division are loaded with cash - there are no longer any small clubs in the premiership in terms of cash when you compare them to other clubs around the world.

Im not talking about what he has already achieved.

If anything Vardy should be commended for staying with club. People talk lot about loyalty and when player shows it they are accused of lacking ambition.

Arsenal won't be winning league titles and with him getting more or less the same contract that Arsenal offered him he is settled for life.

Also at Leicester he is first choice for sure, at arsenal he might end up as rotation player. All life work to play at highest level possible and just when you started doing it why risk it by ending up on bench.

Hope Leicester crumble next season? Why? He didn't reject ManUtd, he did Arsenal.

How so? Once in a lifetime chance to play for Arsenal.

I think it's a terrible decision personally.
How is it a terrible decision. It's not guaranteed he'd win it with Arsenal. It's better for him to stay with Leicester and be considered their biggest legend of all time instead of playing for Arsenal for a couple of seasons. He's made it to the top already by winning it with Leicester and has earned his new contract.

You think Arsenal have a better chance than Leicester to win things in the next few years? I dont.

 Come on now, I know you are a Tottenham fan but Arsenal are more likely to win something than Leicester, even if it's just a cup.

A decline is envitable.

With what he has done for Leicester he should be regarded as a legend no matter what happens.

Joining Arsenal is a once in a lifetime opportunity. If you are a serious footballer that should be a step up from Leicester you want to take.

I honestly believe that Leicester will be right up there challenging for the title again next season - so will Arsenal of course but which club has the better record of winning titles in the last few years? It isn't Arsenal.

A decline is not inevitable - you sound like the people saying a dip in Leicester form was inevitable last season and it didn't happen. Why shouldn't they continue the form they had last season? They are a very strong, settled team full of confidence - most of the 'big' teams have a rebuilding job and new managers to bed in. Leicester will be right up there.

Fair reasoning, in the last three years Leicester have won promotion, stayed up and then won the league. But Arsenal do have the experience in juggling four competitions while winning stuff (FA cups) in the same period, which Leicester don't. Hope you're right about Leicester challenging again but I'm not sure, personally think they'll do well to finish in the top 8 if the arms race at the top goes the way it's looking, your lot don't drop off and us, Everton and Liverpool improve.
