Bit soon after the fa cup but I guess its to keep the fans happy and stop all the speculation.

They're not, but it's his camp at fault. They're the ones who have leaked the information. Very hard to disassociate them from the blame.
Yeah that's fair.

Having said that, as I'm pleased with the appointment and still annoyed at LVG for saying fans' expectations are too high, I'm finding it hard to be too upset by the whole thing, no matter how classless.

I have to say he isn't my first choice as a Manager, but we needed a change. I just hope he doesn't get it all his way and that he is encouraged by the board to play youth. We will be signing a few players I think, but signing elite players will be a challenge nonetheless, even for Mourinho, as we are not in next season's Champions League.

Officially the best poker player on RAWK.
Well, I thought Jose and van Gaal were on good terms. Thought his agent would have been a bit more respectful. I shudder to think how long they would have waited if we lost the final .
Respectful? Mourinho?

Sure we are desperate to get rid of a guy who's sucked the love of football from us over the past two years, but let's not pretend we are getting some kind of gracious saviour here. Mourinho is a dick, just so happens it looks like he'll be our dick for a while.

Great news that Jose is on his way. Feel a little sorry for LVG but it's been coming...

I really can't see how this benefits United.

What happened to longevity ?

Same. I'm a little bit irked by it, but United comes first. Appointing Jose as our manager is a fine move.

3 years too late. But better late than never I guess!

Hoping we get the mature, wise and respectful version of Mourinho who will quickly win friends and stay with us for a decade of success.

Couldn't give a toss if Mourinho himself announced it at half time as long as it's done.

I just worry about the youth players. Rashford is a cracking player and if he goes on a bad run for a few games and gets dropped for a ready made player then he could find it difficult to make it back it. Also with Lingard, wonder if Mourinho will rate him

Jesus christ Paddy having a meltdown. Get a grip.

Comparing our season to Liverpool's performance against Sevilla. Klopp hasn't spent £250m.

Yeah, he is. But he is loyal to the people he trusts though.

I'm trying to decide if that's classless from Mendes or brilliant as it allows me to enjoy the FA Cup win even more wholeheartedly. Great send off.
Same feeling mate

Just couldn't fully enjoy the Fa cup win because I had a lingering feeling Lingards goal could have actually saved LVG.

Also I don't think United will mad about it:

Half the fans happy because of the FA cup win whilst the other half remained skeptical, now all fans can be happy + this means United in all the headlines for the enitre weekend and for once for all the right reasons.

I'm not too thrilled with Mourinho, but I hope hes successful here.
Itd be interesting to see how quick Utd fans here turn on him if it doesnt start well.

Notice he's never at one club for long. He's a short term fix only.
Well everyone would make the step across to Chelsea from Porto at that time I think, he was turfed out unfairly and early into his 4th season as their manager Inter was then only ever going to be a bridge into the Madrid job (which would have been a dream of his so who can blame him really ?) where again he was turfed out too early, he ran into one of the greatest club sides ever assembled and still landed a few shots on them. This season is the only real shock.
