I seem to remember SAF speaking few days before he announced that he was to retire saying that he plans to take the squad forward etc.

I'm very happy. LVG goes out with an FA Cup win and we get who we should have brought in years ago. Pretty shitty way of doing it though straight after our first trophy in 3 years. Would have been nice for it not to get overshadowed.
