And I never wanted José but whooh I'm starting to feel desperate.I wanted Mourinho when Fergie left. Now, I'm kind of nervous about him being anywhere near us.

two managers with a closet full of trophies and an atrocious recent track record. if anything, we should be going with a winner who is riding high RIGHT NOW.
Signing Mourinho now is like signing Rooney now. At your own peril.

He's a bad 6 months ffs.
His last league title was just 8 months ago.
LVG's last league title was 5 years ago.
I dont want Mourinho here. Cant stand him. He still uses the same playing system when he first came to prominence, his football hasnt evolved at all. On top of that he is a massive twat, his main focus is himself not his club or that clubs history etc. Only interested in himself or telling people how great he is.just don't mistake popular opinion with swarm intelligence. main motivators for appointing mourinho are fear of the unknown, fear of missing out and damage limitation.
Mourinho has win things recently.
LVG won most of his trophies 20 years ago. In this century, he got sacked from Barca for being near the relegation zone, managed to not qualify Holland in WC when they had one of the top teams in the world, won a title in 5 years for AZ, won an title with Bayern and then was sacked the following season for being out of UCL zone, got the third place with Holland in 2014 WC.
Durint those same years, Mourinho won a couple of league titles in Portugal, won UCL and UEFA Cup with Porto, won 3 league titles with Chelsea, won a league title with Madrid, won a UCL and 2 league titles with Inter.
LVG trophies since Mourinho is a manager: 2 league titles
Mourinho's: 8 league titles, 2 UCL, 1 UEFA
LVG is more similar to Trappatoni rather than Mourinho. He's a relic of the past century.
Yep, he was so right, that after 2.5 years we are going to sack the second manager, and we have been far away from a title as Earth is from Andromeda. No to mourinho. He is a self obsessed twat who turns on his own when the going gets tough. Every win is down to him, every loss is the players fault. Bobby Charlton was right first time round and he'll be right now. feck off Jose.
I voted no, but now, I'd take him.And I never wanted José but whooh I'm starting to feel desperate.

He won 2 league titles in the last 4.5 years, and reached 3 UCL semi-finals.I also want Mourinho in, but I think it's a fair point. His record over the last 5 years post Inter isn't that flattering. He also needs to adapt, because his brand/idea of football is now also beginning to look outdated.
I like Mourinho, yes he's arrogant and occasionally a twat but similar to Ronaldo that's part of what makes him one of the best.
Positives
- Proven winner, obviously this was used for Van Gaal as well but Mourinho's record is far more recent not to mention also in the Premier League.
- Big name, similar to Guardiola he has an attraction that potential signings will be influenced by. Also his agent is Mendes who's already pally with Woodward so might give us an advantage in the transfer market.
- Tactically one of the best, masterminded God knows how many big match triumphs.
I think the majority of these would transfer directly should he manage us, I'd expect he'd deliver trophies.
Negatives
- Has a woeful record regarding youth, something that we're not only famed for but also the current squad is full of young players who need moulding.
- When he acts up it can get real ugly, Tito eye gouge, Caniero incident, calling out his own players. Etc.
- Not long term, 3 seasons seems to be the maximum before he upsets the wrong people or things start falling apart.
- Style of play, often criticised for being boring and pragmatic.
The style of play he gets labelled for has never really bothered me, I want to win and even so I think his sides can play great football. Him acting up and long term struggles might be aided by getting the job he seems to have always wanted, like another posters said we're maybe big enough to tame him and the environment is nowhere near as toxic as Madrid's. My biggest concern would be his approach to developing youth players for the reasons listed.
In short he'd be my second choice option, I'd only prefer Guardiola.
What happened to mourinho being a boring defensive manager?
His "boring" sides score goals. Plenty of them in fact. What happened to mourinho being a boring defensive manager?
I've written off this season and rather wait for Pep G.
They scored 3 fewer goals than us and conceded 14 more in the league this seasonHis "boring" sides score goals. Plenty of them in fact.
He was very keen on getting Rooney a couple of years ago for Chelsea. Do we think Mourinho now would have the balls to drop Wayne?

Like he motivated the Chelsea players or Madrid players?

Done the same for the same reason.Changed my vote to Yes. He's better than what we have now.
This season isn't really representative of Mourinho's career though. It's a complete outlier. They scored 3 fewer goals than us and conceded 14 more in the league this season
From a cnut to an another cnut, to an another cnut. Changes nothing in that aspect.I would not sacrifice our principles to win anything with mourinho in charge. Yes he'd definitely have done better than moyes and lvg but I still don't want him here.
He has 0 class.
Have you forgotten what a complete cnut he is? Or would trade that in to win another league title?
So basically, you are using Mourinho's worst season in his entire career, as the yard stick to judge him and ignoring all his other seasons?
So you compare his worst spell.
Its his most recent season with the same club. No important attacking players sold, and though yes he has been very successful in the past, is it not at all concerning to any of you what has happened to Chelsea this season? If we're to bring him in during the season, we'll be wanting an improvement in goals scored. Can he bring that this season - as well as make us more solid defensively - so soon after what happened there? This season isn't really representative of Mourinho's career though. It's a complete outlier.
