He won't be leaving real this Summer, he is only there a wet day, doesn't want to leave and zidane said recently he is not going anywhere, I would not be factoring him in to any transfer plans in the immediate future. It is media crap to get hits, we need core strengthening in central areas as a priority and a right back, if that was achieved I would be happy with us to nurture Januzaj and Jesse Lingard as attacking options out wide.

Why do people think we would have to match the amount that Real Madrid paid for him?
They will have had two years of use out of him, he will be two years older and some in Spain would argue that he has been shown to have been overpriced. As long as they don't consider him necessary for their long term plans, I wouldn't be surprised if Madrid are ready to bite the hands off any club who offer as little as 70% of what they paid for him. They paid between €90-€100 million for him so I would think £50m/€70m might be considered a reasonable offer.
The idea (as reported by the press) that any club would have to pay £100m/€140 is laughable.
Although saying that, I don't know what the deal is with Real's possible transfer ban and how this might affect things.

A £50m bid for Bale would seem fair, as would £30m plus Hernandez and Nani.

Would love Bale here but £100m is silly money for him, I don't think anyone can argue otherwise. We could get Ronaldo or possibly even Messi for that money, or we could sign Hummels, Depay and Pogba for around the same amount. Hazard is (slightly) younger and better than Bale. He also doesn't play for a selling club like Spurs.
I know its subjective, but would signing Bale mean we could sign any Madrid player not names Ronaldo? Literally nobody else would cost more than Di Maria or Bale.
Hazard's all round attacking play is what makes him the better player. At their peaks, I would take Hazard over Bale any day; not sure though how that opinion is shared.
I'm not sure if he's better than Bale. Comparing their prime years in the PL and their stats in those seasons, I'd say Bale has been more effective. In fact, although Hazard delights with mazy dribbles and his ability in packed areas, Bale's final season here was better and more spectacular than what your guy has produced. Those long rangers in the final minutes...
Don't even want Bale but just playing devil's advocate. Hazard probably has more potential and room to grow though.

Yeah, I'm talking about here and now not what he did 2 years ago. Hazard is better than Bale at literally everything right now other than scoring from outside of the box. Dribbling, passing, creatively. Quickly nearing Bale's goal output as well.

In current form, Hazard is better. It was understandable that we bought Di Maria for 60m because he was 2nd best player of that season.
Bale's hardly made large impact this season for Real Madrid, with 100m we could buy Hazard(providing Chelsea want to sell player to rival club) and a new goal keeper.
Just because he would fit their style better it doesn't mean he's the better player.
