I was hesitant at first but just bring Dani Alves in at the end of the season. If not him, buy a competent right back. Rafael is just too injury prone.

Of course it's disappointing that Rafael is injured. He's been in great form and our only actual right back. But the reaction on here seems to be a little over the top.

We should sign Nathaniel Clyne in January. Perfect cover for the LB and RB spots.

    Valencia at RB, that's shit.

Herrera probably still not 100 percent fit. City with 2 in midfield, no Silva, no Nasri and 2 strikers, sounds good for me :)

Fellaini shouldnt be starting, his "form", while OK, has been really exaggerated because people sympathise with him.

Nonsense. Sympathise? What absolute rubbish. I don't sympathise one bit, and didn't want him from day one, but he's been good of late. Did you just miss him shackle Fabregas against Chelsea? It was the first time, in his United career, in a big game, he didn't look out of place. He also had a good game at West Brom and scored a great goal.

Who would you rather be starting? Mata? Who's done nothing to justify being in the starting XI.

We're playing the same formation as vs Chelsea so Herrera could have started instead of Fellaini, not Januzaj..

Also people crying about Valencia at RB are speaking out of their arse. Sure he isnt great overall as opposed how he used to be but at RB he'll do all right.

Seriously why didnt we hear anything about Rafael being out. Also Adnan 3 start without doing much is not great. Yeah i could see us being really smashed now. Aguero is going to get a easy day with our defence.

    That's the spirit!

Can see us lining up 4-3-3 with Rooney in midfield against a 4-4-2 from City.

The battle in midfield will be interesting, Blind/Fellaini/Rooney will all put themselves around and up against 2 in Yaya and Fernandinho we could just have the edge.

We need a first choice right back and a first choice right sided center back, no two ways about that. Rafael is injured all the time, it's quite annoying no matter how good he plays when he actually does.

Also why's Ander not playing? He's such a great little player and also a big game performer.

I think Pellegrini has actually deviated from 4-4-2, based on the way Jovetic has been used previously.

I'm thrilled, if the below is the case:
    Hart
    Zab-Kompany-MDM-Kolarov
    Fernando-Milner
    Navas-Toure-Jovetic
    Aguero

As for Nasri missing out, his 40 minutes or so in the LC were his first minutes for over a month. Dzeko is sacrificed due to the swap in formation.

we should of bought Clyne years ago when he was at Palace

we were linked at one point and i got excited but fergie never pulled the trigger

Valencia should be able to handle Milner.

Would have liked to see Di Maria through the middle. Not the best use of him out wide.

Seeing as it's Milner up against valencia I'm less worried. Both are more the physical types so hopefully valencia has the edge. Never really liked him at right back though.

    1) Hope Januzaj has his head screwed on today. No more shooting from the byline.

    2) All the Rafael criticism because he picked up a knock is pathetic.

    3) Mata has been stale for a couple of games. Can have no complaints.

Our injury record is shockingly bad. Whoever plays RM is going have to be really disciplined with Valencia at RB.
As opposed to when Rafael is playing? He's more prone to leaving his zone than Valencia is.

I think we are playing 4-3-3 with Blind Rooney and Fellaini in midfield.

After seeing how Fellaini has performed in the last two games I think people at least could give Valencia a chance before they judge him.

Really excited and nervous now. I think City are going to play 4-3-3 to be honest with Toure-Fernando-Milner and Jovetic playing on the left. No Silva is a massive blow but I hope we can exploit Valencia at right-back. I'll say 3-2 City, with Jovetic and Rooney my predictions to score.

Fwiw the story i heard with clyne was that a deal was provisionally agreed then his agent came back a few weeks later asking for more money and the club told him it was off

It's a 4-2-3-1 we are playing. For this match we Di Maria on the wing to give us stability, he will get back in CM for crystal palace.

Valencia is up against Milner ffs, he is not that bad on RB. Actually that City lineup isn't that frightening and they are in bad form, why not go for it all?

Man Utd Starting XI: De Gea, Valencia, Smalling, Rojo, Shaw, Blind, Fellaini, Januzaj, Rooney, Di Maria, van Persie.

Man City Starting XI: Hart, Zabaleta, Kolarov, Demichelis, Kompany, Fernando, Yaya Toure, Navas, Milner, Jovetic, Aguero.
