Part of me is glad he's gone but part of me is going to miss the loveable scamp.
Just thought I'd stop by and say goodbye and good luck to Anderson. We had very high hopes for him and while he didn't achieve them, he has given us some great memories to look back on. Who can forget that night in Moscow, or the way he stood up to big players like Fabregas and Gerrard, and was totally unfazed? He's won a tidy collection of medals with us and made a contribution when he could. I gotta respect him for that.
But it's the right time for both sides. He needs to play and we've decided the future of our midfield will take place without him. It's been fun while it lasted.

For once I have to agree.
It's easy to get fraustrated with a player that plays in a position we are desperate in. When he obviously has talent but never got himself into the right shape/fitness.
A similar player was Saha. I remember reading Ferguson, IIRC, indirectly insinuating that Saha was a bit of a hypochondriac or a wimp. That certain players turn up with all sorts of strains and knocks and play though it while "some" would walk off the training pitch towards the medics if they felt the slightest bit of tightness or ache. Either they were terrified of getting a real injury or they enjoyed their sick pay.
I wonder if the same was thought of Anderson. I always thought that he had the classic knock on effect. One injury, a long period out, the body not used to exercise or compensating and another injury occurs. A vicious cycle.
Anyway, the football bit aside, he seems a likeable lad. I think he was very proud of the United fans having a song for him and I think he genuinely does live the club. Nearly 7 years of his life here and I'm sure he's made some great friends. Good luck to him, there's a lot worse people playing this game that deserve the hostility he has received from some of our fans recently.

Shame really...I feel sad because he had/has the genuine ability to be world class...But when you're 25 and still blasting passes into no one and out of play and can't last the full 90, you know something isn't right

Its a shame. We should have ditched Fred the Red and moved him up to mascot position.

He is very, very, very clearly out of shape and fat in that fitness pic tweeted. He is not ripped at all. Different people pack fat on differently. When I'm not in great shape (IE fat) I put fat on exactly the same way Anderson does it would seem. You don't get a belly, you get a layer of fat that is basically equally distributed over your entire body. He has zero definition in his deltoids, or the side of his chest where, if he wasn't fat you would be able to definitely see some definition. I've seen other pictures of him when he's been called fat, and he wasn't fat at all, but he is clearly chunking it in that picture ;p
And what would you call someone who wants to ban someone whose opinion differs from his?

He's not. Once he goes out of primary school he will notice that people may not agree with what he says and they may be quite vocal on it. He'll have to either to accept that or else debate on it in a mature way

Thought this was a permanent move, not a loan.. Ah well. Hopefully he does well in Italy and they buy him. Can't say I ever disliked Anderson, but he's one of those players who need to make way at this stage.

Getting rid of Anderson makes no difference to anything unless someone takes his squad place...something which doesn't look imminent unless we consider that person to be Darren Fletcher (in the CL squad?)

It was meant as a joke/friendly jab for those who 'praises him' because he scored a friggin penalty.
The way I see it is that a talent with exceptional potential has failed miserably. He basically kicked every opportunity of making it at OT despite such opportunities were ridiculously many. This is not only a waste of money which we barely afford/spend but also a waste of life, opportunity and talent.
I apologise if I find it hard praising a guy who fecked his career away because 'he's fun' or because 'he scored a penalty'. Its even more painful to watch since the guy has a sad story behind him and seem to be a nice guy. I mean, I wouldn't mind if a bastard loses the opportunity of a life time but not someone like Ando who doesn't seem to be an arse its damn painful.
The only good thing about it is that Fiorentina fans tend to be less forgiving towards losers and failures then the Mancs. If Ando doesn't deliver the goods he will vanish in the reserves and end up being booed by his on fans. This may prove the right kick on the backside for Ando to stand up and be counted. Its a shame that its just a loan. I wont be surprised we will be talking next summer about Season 2014-2015 being Ando's year....again.
Watch him overcome his injury problems and become a top midfielder now.

I like Anderson, and I really do hope he will succeed. Italy is fantastic btw.
He's contributed far less to the team then Young and Valencia, and people are going out of their way to praise him. Look at Fellaini. He's been he half a season and barely had a chance, but does he get the benefit of the doubt? Anderson had 6 years to prove himself and did feck all with it.
He'll end up at a Turkish club within a year.
If it wasn't for the fitness issues he'd have been a useful squad player but at this stage we probably have too many of those. The only thing he really bought at this stage was a personality which whilst it's important to have those it's not going to keep your place in the team.
Liking Anderson has nothing to do with his quality on the pitch. Macheda was shite as well but we all love him as well (I hope anyway).
