Fabregas

So I'm reading that Moyes wants him and Barca want to sell him. Kind of odd that he's not already here when they put it like that...

Simon Johnson was one of the first to "break" the story. He's just rehashing his old article.

Just Piers Morgans reaction is reason enough to sign him.

As a matter of interest, what would people pay for him ?

I'd have an upper limit of £50million simply because I think he'd be so effective for us. For other clubs he might not be worth that much, but I think he'd be unreal for us.

1000000 billion pounds. Just for Morgans reaction.

50 is too much for a player who is not a goal scorer for me 30-40 imo he would link up well with Carrick would give us the best midfield in the league.

£25 million would be about right, he's been mediocre since he moved there.

Up to 40million. I'd consider that steep, and would say Barcelona have got a good deal - though I'd also be sure we'd get our moneys worth.

He was the best player in the league until he left, and that was in a poor Arsenal team. He was able to control, dictate and create from deep - at United, he could considered best midfielder in the world in a few years time.

I highly doubt he will leave Barcelona though, but I'd love it (love it!) if he did*.

*and came to United, of course.

£35mil would probably be fair. Less than that, I'd say we got a good deal. More than that, Barca will have ripped us off a little bit. Because whilst he might end up being worth more to us, he's not worth more than that to Barca at the moment, because he's not working out that well in their system.

Also, it would seem wrong to pay them more than they paid Arsenal. He was playing much, much better back then, and he was younger. But I suppose the 'I want to go home' factor probably cut the price Arsenal got.

Meh, who knows. At the end of the day he's a world class CM, so if we pay £100mil I won't give a damn.

I haven't seen a lot of Barca this year, but haven't they needed Fabregas as a forward this season, even if he has been out of position?

Okay, Neymar is coming, but won't they need another forward in before letting Fabregas go?

Also, would they really allow both Thiago and Cesc leave at the same time as many papers are suggesting?

If Thiago is the one with the release clause, then he is the one leaving first IMO.

No way will a player of his quality go only for 25mil unless there's no competition for his signature or like the last time, he has his heart set on one club only. His performances at Barca havent been great according to their standard but his quality cannot be questioned.

Yeah, they'l wait to see how the thiago situation develops. If he leaves, no way will Cesc go. If they could help it, I dont see them wanting to let either leave.

We'd have to be out of our minds to pay anything close to £50m for Fabregas. He cost less than £30m when he moved to Barcelona two years ago when he was considered one of the best midfielders in the world and had been doing extremely well for Arsenal. After two disappointing seasons at Barca his value is supposed to have gone up as opposed to decrease? How does that work exactly?

Has 50m been mentioned anywhere other than the caf?

Barcelona were in a better negotiating position. 30m was widely considered to be a steal. Also, if Fabregas is sold, Arsenal receive a portion of the transfer fee, that probably influences the prices touted.

I agree with your point though. His tag would be based on his reputation. *Coughs*Torres

It wont be anywhere close to 50mil but it wont be 25mil either. Even his price to Barca was very low simply because he had made up his mind to leave and Barca acted teh cnuts by refusing to pay more. At that time, he'd have gone for much more in an open market.

If a move happens now, multiple clubs will bid unless he's again set his heart on 1 particular club which unless its Arsenal, is unlikely. Barca will get a good price, definitely more than 25mil. Just imagine the bids the likes of City and Chelsea will put in if Fabregas is up for sale

Given that both Fabregas and Thiago are fantastic options, but Thiago would probably be much cheaper, it does seem as though he's the one we should be going for. Fabregas might be the better player at the moment - entering his peak years and proven in the PL - but is he £20/25million better?

 a proper dreamers thread this.

No chance it'll happen. Move on. And not to the Thiago thread!

Honestly Carl, I don't understand these type of posts.

If you don't think it's gonna happen then surely it's easy to stay away from the thread rather than basically telling everyone to stop deluding themselves.

It's not like this rumor has been created by people themselves, many papers have reported it.

And besides, it's not as if everyone posts in this thread because they're convinced it's definitely going to happen. It's just speculative, a 'what if' discussion.

Honestly, there's nothing sadder than coming into a thread just to post something like 'why are you all posting in this thread, losers?' Deeply ironic.

feck off cunto. Am a proper winner and we will sign the pizza throwing cnut.

This is just how Nazi Germany started ;)

It's daft saying people should avoid silly threads because they think it's silly. I check in here for any actual news on the story rather than just Twitter rumours and red top garbage.

It's funny seeing the "it's on!!" reaction to every positive news story and then when there's a story saying it's not happening "it's on!!" anyway.

All this is doing is setting up for a huge fall and string of negative posts when we sign Fellaini or another player the caf moguls don't deem good enough.
