Man United appoint Moyes | Round, Woods, Lumsden, P Neville in; Giggs player/coach; Albert stays

Nah that's bollocks.

True colours for what? Obviously these fans 'showing their true colours' care a great deal about the club, hence why they're not happy to just accept any old person, especially one who has hardly done anything worthy of managing the greatest club in the world, or has the experience of managing the greatest club in the world. They want the best for their club. There's nothing strange or weird about that. If they weren't proper fans they wouldn't give a shit. Posts like yours exist only to get one up over other people, 'look I'm a better fan than you, come round to my way of thinking or be known as the bad fan.'

People in having different opinions shocker.

Having different opinions is a normal and fine thing Zarlak but the way some express theirs is a bit OTT.Throwing insults and writting Moyes off before he even made on ITW is premature for me.
Yes people have the right to not be happy by him replacing our legendary SAF, I have no pbs with that.

He doesn't deserve anyone's support because he has not done shit yet. His numbers at Everton are appalling. We have no idea if he is SAF's first choice. For all you people know he could be Glazer's sole choice. He is a lightweight in a heavyweight's ring. I am sick and appalled at his appointment.

Jesus Christ that's the worst one I've seen yet and that takes some doing!

You should be absolutely ashamed of yourself.

So pleased not a foreigner making us like Arse, Liverpool etc etc. He will take care not only of the first team but also our youth. British core in Manchester United for atleast 6 years then. Good Luck Moyes, I´ll support you for each and every minute

I believe we had to act quickly as with the impending departure of Jose from Real Madrid, it was inevitable that Real would be in for David Moyes! Sorry couldn't resist that one.

Anyway, he's now a Man Utd man, so let's get behind him. His first job is not an easy one.... What to do with Rooney.

Welcome David Moyes.

30 minutes of appointment and we are still crap. Tara Moyes.

You care about the club why? You don't even trust them, and the greatest manager ever to make a better decision than you?

That's a cop out moses. Sometimes these people make bad decisions, we've seen it many times of the years, many times. Loving the club means wanting the best for it, and supporting it no matter what which is what people are doing.

Strongly disagreeing with their choice doesn't mean you don't care about the club. It's in no way related. If you didn't care abotu the club you wouldn't give a shit. If you care about the decision that much, you evidently care about the club.

I try so hard to convince myself that his appointment is exciting and the right thing, but I just cant. A bit like when we signed Young.

I don't think I'm a better fan than anyone, and over the last 2-3 years my interest in football as wained so I'm in no position to say I'm a better fan than anyone. Opinions are fine, but some of the shite in here screams children throwing toys out of their pram. Their true colours being spoiled brats.

I let you carry on now bemoaning the appointment.

We're Manchester United fans, like you, with an opinion.

Who the feck are you to tell us we can't have one?

The fact that he was Sir Alex' choice should be enough. Poor form to challenge his final decision at the club.

Dear, dear, dear

Here is my opinion on Moyes:

1)Wasn't my first choice tbh never even thought he was in the running cause of his lack of European experience.

2) Fergie hand-picked him. That means a lot.

3) He is recognized as a great coach in the premiership. Overachieved regularly with Everton and won manager of the year 3 times.

4) He has a certain class and humbleness about him. He won't drag our name through the mud, he wont leak stories to the media and he will behave in a way that I think I will appreciate.

5)He has something to prove. He is now at the big boys table, somewhere he has never been. Will he sink or swim? I think he will master the doggy paddle.

6) Our TEAM is good enough. This is the thing that is keeping me from totally freaking out. We have a very young and very good team. DDG,Rafael,Evans,Jones,Vidic,Carrick,Kagawa,Cleverley,Nani,Young,Zaha,Rooney,Welbeck,Chicharito, RVP. Add a few signings here and there and we can compete with anyone on a talent level.

7) It's a summer of change at the club.Fletcher,Nani,Anderson,Rooney,Scholes and Fergie in the same summer?! I hope Rooney and Nani stay. I've given up on Anderson.

8) Top three is the minimum for me. I hope he hits the ground running. A trophy in his first season would be huge. In Moyes we trust!

Sensible post.

Absolutely appalled by this. I seriously can't comprehend it. feck off and support City.

SAF is human and has made plenty of poor decision in the past.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Crying BAN HIM for expressing their opinion because it's contrary to your own and doesn't state that nothing MUFC ever do can possibly be wrong is exactly what we mock RAWK for.

I think I support the opinion of the best manager of all time rather than a load of armchair fans who've never stepped foot in Old Trafford.

Good appointment.

Some OTT stuff on here but can't blame some people for doubting Moyes. I have reservations too but have to believe that this appointment has been long in the making and is well-considered by all.

I would have preferred Jose but realistically, would he have signed a 6-year deal? Probably not. With Jose, there's always the possibility that mayhem will follow in a couple of years when he either pisses off the owners, players, or both. Having supported United since the Busby era, I don't want to see that again.

The club is in massive debt and any instability could end up causing catastrophic results. I look at Leeds and wonder if we might end up there if we appoint the wrong man. Moyes is safe and reliable. With our resources, who can say what he'll achieve. He deserves our support.

Glad it's sorted and official. And I'm glad it's Dave. Good man, I'm sure of that. As others have said our history and reputation mean more than any instant gratification (followed by a hangover from hell) that someone like Mourinho can offer.

Six year deal - I like that too. It goes against the Zeitgeist, as they say. Gary Neville touched on it yesterday: The appointment will be a victory for the sanity in football, the exact opposite of what certain other top clubs stand for.

The statements from the Glazers and Gill confirm that this is basically Fergie's last will and testament - which makes it an even better appointment.

It's not a cop out. SAF and MUFC have sat the man down and spoke to him. I fabcy I know a bit about football but not as much as them on this matter. It'd have to be Steve Kean before I'd flip out. Moyes is a top bloke and really what he has done at Everton is great on 800k net spend a season. That shows he will work with players and he will work with an academy. I like the appointment. If Jose was the only other option I'm fecking thrilled it's Moyes.

I'm very pleased for him. I think he'll do very well.

But if he brings Tony Hibbert with him he can feck off.

Liverpool have a British manager, and you're foreign.
