Yves Bissouma / Signs for Spurs

I think the bolded is giving him way too much credit. Bissouma is hardly unearthing a gem as he has been supposedly on the move for the last couple of seasons. What this deal shows is that when a player has 12 months left on his deal the selling club has to take what it can get and if you are the interested buyer and nobody is bidding against you it is not that hard to complete.

We have to admit that 25m for Bissouma is a steal.

We missed out on main targets (Nunez) while others were able to sign absolute bargains (ex Bissouma) under our noses. We took our time in signing a deputy football director (who is meant to relief Murtough) which is almost criminal considering that transfer negotiations starts months before they are actually concluded and we've yet to replace our chief scouts. On top of that the excuses are starting to pile in and Joel seems to be shaping up as the new transfer market boogey man to replace Woodward and Judge.

Nunez was never our main target, stop making things up to suit the narrative. De Jong has been the first target and has always been.

Bissouma is a good price but was not one of our targets so, I dont know why you are crying about this too.

Finally, transfer targets start early, which is why we are behind, Ten Hag joined end of May, which means he still needs to figure out what he exactly needs.

LOGIC!? What is this nonsense aasagghhjjj

Possibly, Tielemans is available for the same amount it seems. Looks to be the going rate for a good PL midfielder entering the last year of their contract. Bissouma and Tielemans are both examples of players who are better than what we have but are also players who would struggle to get a game at Liverpool or City so hopefully it is a sign we are aiming higher.

A- I think that Nunez was a main target, every reputable journalist linked him to us.

B- We need defensive minded midfielders and we're running on a tight budget. Losing out on the likes of Kamara and Bissouma is incompetence at best.

C- managers change all the time. We're the only club to make a meal out of it. Also if you follow Man United you'll know that we've been slow on the transfer market for around a decade.

Lets hope that we don't end up with McFred instead.

Going super cheap. But yet to be found out if he's a rapist or not, right? Risky move.

we as a fans seem to be going in circles. when a young prospect gets away we are losers. We buy young prospects we are wasting talent. Maybe ETH doesn't need a player like him? Maybe he doesn't want to come to united etc .. there are a lot of things in play.

Why are people losing their shit already? I think things will ramp up once the Nations League games are over.

Bissouma - Tielemans for just a touch more than a VDB cost us sounds like a banging bit of business to me. I've no idea about the allegations and what have you, but simply looking at him as a player, Bissouma has always impressed.

Ah well. Hopefully we're looking at two players of a higher quality to rebuild this midfield. I'm not sure my sanity will survive another year of McFred.

Can you show me which reputable journalists said he is our no.1 target, please do not show me sport witness or ESPN.

That's your opinion that it is incompetence.

Not really, what is the point of signing players the manager doesn't want. Also, if you are a Manutd follower, you will note that there has been a change in the structure, which takes time. The club have realised their failings and changes have been made.

Talking about on the slow side, are you expecting all deals done in a week of the window opening?

Yet to be even found out if anyone is accusing him of being a rapist. We’ll need to get to that stage first before we can even begin to find out whether or not he’s guilty of being one.

A- No one knows whose our no 1 target is but he's been constantly linked by us by many reputable journalists.

B- We need at least 2 CM, we've got multiple roles to fill and our budget is always around 60m-120m. Giving our circumstances not signing the likes of Kamara or Bissouma is incompetent. There again we wouldn't be in this silly situation if the club was indeed competent

C- As said United had been slow on the transfer market (and everything else really) since SAF left. That has nothing to do with the new manager. Actually we tend to be more effective on the transfer market when we've got a new manager rather then once he had settled down.

A. Okay show me where a reputable journalist has said Nunez was our main target.

B. It is incompetence in your opinion. Signing someone who has a sexual assault charge against him is incompetent too unless you know all the details, which by the looks of it you know it all.

C. The structure has changed, we have not even gone for pre season, so why the panic about us being slow? The window opened last week.

Yeah, whats the deal with that?

Why is everyone in the dark with this case?

Zero media coverage, nothing from the police...

I would assume it explains why the best midfield destroyer in the league is going for such a paltry sum.

Look we're going in circles here so there's no point discussing in circles. You think that United changed which is fair enough. I think that having a man on top whose Woodward's man and whose had an important role throughout this mess is not a change at all especially since

a- we seem following the same trait to what happened years before

b- we had committed many mistakes throughout this season (ie keeping Ole for too long, bringing a manager who had never managed a top club and hasn't managed for quite some time as temp, taking our time to bring in a deputy director etc)

So lets call it quits shall we?

Do you promise that you’re quitting?

That would be the fact that his contract expires in a year.

Still a paltry sum. If there was no looming case, he'd be fought for and there'd be a bidding war I assume.

Do you promise that you’re quitting?

There's no point discussing with those who can't see what's going on even though it literally hits them on their face. So I limit myself to highlight how awesome 'the change' had been even though its becoming more obvious that there was little improvement at all.

Well I just explained why it’s a paltry sum. If he had 3 years left, he wouldn’t be going for 25m.

And ‘looming case’ is a very interesting description. In all likelihood, we never here of this again.

This is precisely why we should not have been dicking around with interim managers and have a strategic long term plan. Once again we come to the game far too late. As always.

It’s an eye opener when you realise nobody cares

I mean not one single bad press about the club has happened since MG11 and neither would it continue is we signed Yves.

It’s all social media hype. The blood on the hands the club ‘probably’ has about MG11 would be eye opening (Zero to no evidence of this). But I bet it would never come to light and we will continue to make tones of money.
Don't you think there's a reason no one's talked about Greenwood in the media?

You genuinely think the press isn't ignoring talking about it for a good reason?

Ten Hag was the choice of manager. He was mid season, what makes you think he was going to leave mid way to join us?

Fans as always thinking things are like FM or FIFA.

You are right, but it is for these same reasons people can’t have it both ways. It is for the same reasons that there would not have been a ‘media backlash’ had we signed Bissouma. We are not talking about blog sites. There are ethical and legislation protocols, and then there is the fact that the man is innocent in the eyes of the law, the media would need to tread carefully.

If you say so.

True. Let’s go with the sexier story and speak about how we ‘don’t know if he is a rapist’ and his ‘looming case’. It’s only the internet, easy to talk shit about people’s lives.

The price for him is a steal for Spurs, interesting that no other team has moved for him though at that fee. We do need to add a player of this type to partner De Jong if we get him though, otherwise he'll be stuck playing with one of the 2 clowns who've been stinking up our midfield for the last 3 seasons.

Sexier story? I'd have described it quite differently.

Also, I'm not saying he's guilty of anything. I'm just saying given how dominant he is in his position, who'd presumably be sought after by quite a few clubs, I think he's going for a suspiciously low sum. And yes, I'm aware he's got a year left on his deal. He's not 30 or already on mega wages, which sometimes makes these year-left-on-his-deal transfers relatively cheap.

Why don’t you wait and see how the summer pans out?

No it isn’t. And why would the police need an ‘equivalent’ to bail when they have the actual option of bail?

I’m glad to see that so few of you or anyone you all have associated with have had run-ins with the law, but people need to familiarise themselves more with what RUI tends to mean in real terms. Bail is bail. A charge is a charge, and RUI is not an equivalent. Either of the other two scenarios would have likely seen him suspended by Brighton since last year too. The fact that it is not there isn’t to be dismissed as some sort of technicality - the difference actually matters.
Per The Law Society … “Release under investigation (RUI) is used by the police instead of bail – but unlike pre-charge bail it has no time limits or conditions. This can leave the accused and alleged victims in limbo with no updates on their case for an unlimited time.”

I mean, technically speaking, it is an alternative to bail, but my point is - it is not an either or that is drawn from a hat. Bail is bail, and RUI is lesser. If there are sufficient grounds, you will be bailed before you are RUI. One of Bissouma’s party is literally on bail now, and Bissouma himself was initially on bail, which was then subsequently lifted and changed to RUI. My point is, that is not for no reason, and it isn’t an alternative to the degree where it doesn’t matter either way which one. Mendy was on bail, Greenwood has been on bail for several months, Bissouma was put on bail and then lowered to RUI.

After the incident with Greenwood...there was a snowballs chance in hell that the Glazers would sanction a move for this guy

Yeah he’s an innocent man until proven guilty. I’m sure there will be legal radon to it and also pending cases cannot have biased opinions published which could have an impact on an open case.
