Youth transfers and rumours thread.

Lusale saying his farewell to Palace. Interestingly, in the 6th slide you can see him with Jamahl Jarrett who now works for us as an academy scout in the London area. May very well be a signing based off his recomendation.

Don't think it's to do with negotiations. We are waiting for approval from the PL. It was already reported at that time that it will take several weeks for the transfer to complete.

Does anyone know why ? I mean even if the parties involved do their due dilligence, surely it should not take months

We've done a few youth loans tbh. We've even loaned to Real Madrid youth team.

Makes sense when you have multiple youth keepers and only 30 games to try and decide who plays

What's in it for the other team? Why would they choose to develop a player that isn't their own who is going to take games away from their own prospects?

It's not just this single case, loads are taking ages. City are still waiting for clearance on one of their signings & Liverpool only just got theirs last week on Ngumoha + Ayman.

Specifically why it's taking so long I don't know. Couple of theories are maybe a club crossed the line and so the PL are being more thorough with their checks. I know Southampton got done for it but that was in 2023 so who knows.

Or maybe it does always take this long and the boom in reporting on these kind of transfers has now highlighted it.

These moves are almost always goalkeepers and almost always because the other team needs one for some reason, usually injuries

Something needs to change regarding the length of time it takes to ratify these transfers. Established players move for millions of pounds in the blink of an eye, yet young teenagers are left waiting around for months at such a crucial time in their development.

Proof that us and Arsenal can't agree on a fair fee in fairness

That is really crazy and a joke.....i don't understand why no one says "We must change this problem".

That is Chelsea/Brentford/Fulham territory. If true, it's good to hear that we are able to attract these players.

Not 100% sure but I think he's the #7 in this video. Looks really good if so and would've been playing up a year or two if it's an U16/U17 match

Was hoping to see some news about Scanlon going out on loan but doesn't seem likely this late in the window.

Seems this went through.

Best for all parties tbh. Curley post his injury/growth spurt has developed into a sort of jack of all trades CM, there's not much point of having him around giving other CM talents we have. With his physicality and game understanding he can still breakthrough at a club like Stoke, however.

Everyone at the Academy would like to wish the very best of luck to departing duo Ruben Curley and Sekou Kaba, who have signed for Championship clubs. Academy staff will continue to monitor their progress closely and celebrate their every achievement, of which we're sure there will be many.

Goalkeeper Tom Myles has joined up with Leek Town, but will still be able to train at Carrington and be available for some Academy games.

That's a surprise. No club's announced his arrival yet, so I wonder if that's still being resolved behind the scenes. Good on him to secure a Championship move, though.

Have a feeling we actually only retained him for a scholarship previously for him to get through the injuries (similar to Lawrence who has, well, disappeared)

Oh, crud, I forgot about Lawrence completely! According to Transfermarkt, he's apparently a free agent, but that info is as good as the person who provides it to the website.

Was it injuries that stunted Kaba's growth? I have been hearing about him for a couple of years but i never really saw him play for the Under-18s.
