Yannick Carrasco

And Carrasco is the answer for this? This club really needs to move away from the mentality that the player we are linked is better than the player we have so it’s ok to buy him. That’s shouldn’t be the thinking. It should be more like will this player actually improve us in the ST and can develop more in the LT to help the team over a period of time.

And the answer is yes. So its a weird question

You rather watch a way past it, mediocre player than a young exciting talent? Each to their own I guess
He’s not way past it - where’s this nonsense coming from? He’s inconsistent but always has been.

Yeah, never been good enough to start with. One of the most uninspiring links we had this summer, and that says a lot

He's not mediocre, and yes I'd rather depend on someone established than throw a complete inexperienced kid out there who should ideally be eased into the first team squad. This is something consistent across most manager view points, let alone posters on redcafe.

Don't want players who have made the move to China. Even worse he did so during his prime years.

What kind of rubbish is this…he came back and helped Athletico win la liga with 6 goals and 10 assists across the season. For comparison - in a Simone team - their darling felix scored 7 and assisted 5 that season.

Any one living in the dreamland where we buy top talent who improve us exponentially- when has that happened…ever?

or bought great youth prospects and developed them? When? Ever?

this type of snobbery has got us a bloated team sheet full of overpaid slackers. I don’t know why he went to China but the guy runs his socks off every time I watch him, has grit and is not too shabby technically.

better option then everything we have right now considering we need Sancho for the right hand side.

The irony of this in the context of this being a player who moved to China in his prime years is apparently lost on you.

Carrasco would have been a good signing, one I'd encourage. I've watched my share of Atleti matches over the years and like the poster above remarked, Carrasco has that fiesty, work hard, give it your all attitude Simeone loves.

Technically sound, a decent turn of pace, a bit of flair, and a very good set of lungs. Carrasco would be a good fit for us, certainly an instant upgrade on Rashford due to his work rates alone.
