It's worth saying that's not actually micro LED - could be a typo in your description, although I don't know if Samsung marketing are selling it as that.

Mini-LED is still backlit and has issues in common to standard LED. Proper micro LED is horrendously expensive, but coming in the next few years and is a real OLED competitor. That is self emitting and doesn't bleed blacks exactly like OLED.

I only quickly watched the video last night i was impressed with how close the blacks were to the oled and the fact it kept more detail in dark scenes.

As having both Qled and Oled tv's at home they both have their perks and this seemed like a good middle ground.

The official name is Neo Qled rather then micro/mini led for this tv in particular.

On June 13th 6pm - you will see.

You will all see!

They will see games due to come out in 2025 and cgi trailers, same shit different console from microsoft as usual.

I do like the blind faith people still have in microsoft though.

It's almost like Damien only posts them because they're shite
No, I just post Xbox news seeing as this thread is a tumbleweed since Bojan left. They were posted around the same time as the PlayStation ones so thought I'd kill two birds with one stone by posting both. Different people like different games, just because Injustice was free last year and none of the games are new doesn't mean they're horrendously bad choices for a service that tried to double its price at the start of the year.

They are free additions, not the service actually being paid for. Bizarre post.

Different service, but a significant percentage of people subscribe to PS+ for the monthly games - they literally are part of the service being paid for.

If a poll was being done for XLG, I guess the online multiplayer percentage would be higher due to the requirement of having it to play F2P games until not long ago.

I'd love to know the percentage of people who subscribe to XLG primarily for the free games.

I also hope they're safely locked away inside their padded cells.

Most people I know don't even know about Games with Gold, and wouldn't care even if they did, like a lot of people that already do know about it. Gold is to play online for most people. Anything else is a bonus. I'm sure if they gave newer games out it'd get more attention though, and then do better in a survey like the one above. Doubt that'll happen though, with Game Pass.

Sony has pushed their free games to be a huge part of their service. Xbox hasn't. I can see why Damien is equivalating, but it just isn't comparable.

Seems really obvious but Gamepass obviously complicates XBL. I imagine the latter is seen as a remnant of a past era and will slowly be dissolved into GP at some point.
From a price point of view I don't think they can ever drop a service like XBL. People who just want to play offline aren't going to want to pay a premium and giving everyone access to GP at the same price surely can't be sustainable in the long run. They'll try to make GP as attractive as possible (they're already doing that of course) and push it as their main sub but XBL will continue to exist in some shape or form I think.

It's not the same though is it.

PS doesn't have something like Gamepass that is scaled (PS Now isn't scaled) which is where people go on Xbox to access the games, and PS+ was literally built on offering of monthly games and wasn't a requirement to play online.

Also.. you've just highlighted the absolute ridiculous requirement that PS+ is needed to facilitate cloud saves! I had multiple issues moving to PS5 with games not being saved on the cloud even though I had ps+ on PS4. On Xbox, I can download an Xbox 360 game and play my save state from about 10 years ago regardless of whether I had or have Xbox Live Gold, and whether I thought ahead or not to make sure my saves were in the cloud.

They don't care about Xbox Live that much and I think they have seriously considered dropping the price completely. But the challenge is that it's easier to migrate people over from subscribing to XBL and upgrading to GP/GPU at an increase, than it would be to get people to go from no subscription to a subscription if they dropped it and the hike was bigger.

I agree with you it's just about making Gamepass as attractive as possible, and once they feel like the service is scaled beyond just Xbox console and they have a significant adoption and retention rate, they'll drop XBL.

Did they? Not even half a year ago, they briefly doubled its price. I do think what you're saying makes sense, lowering or even dropping the cost of playing online as GP continues to grow, but that ill advised earlier move seems contrary to that. At that point their strategy seemed to be to make XBL so expensive that there's virtually no value in it compared to GP.

Yep and there were credible rumours not long before about them dropping it. Exactly right, the price hike wasn't to increase revenue line against Xbox Live but to make GPU even more attractive in comparison and a no-brainer of a decision. It's only there to act as a stepping stone and whilst you have a huge subscriber base, you want to take advantage and up-sell GPU as that becomes a harder task if people aren't already subscribing at all.

But if they reach 50/60m Gamepass subscribers and Series X/S attach rates are higher for GPU than Xbox Live alone - I'm sure they would pull the plug.

If it remains, it's literally just a token subscription to act as a decoy. Like the 'small' popcorn that nobody buys when a medium is double the size and 30p more expensive.

Can we please not use this thread as an Xbox vs PS5 thread and a bashing thread. I'd instead like to focus on what matters.

Who else is super excited to play The King's Bird on next gen baby?

But the dialled back on that. Unlike PS5 with their £70 8 hour games.
