 Calm down kids. Maybe take your minds off it by, I dunno, playing games instead?

Alan Wake 2 is being criminally overlooked on the caf, maybe try that for a start.

It does look good.

I want to put some time into City Skylines 2 see if it lives up to the original, but I'm watching F1 Quali then heading out tonight.

I think it's more that people just can't keep up with the games. This year has been insane, at least on paper (I'm always a couple of years behind, trying to play catch up).

Yeah I loved Control and really want to play this. I haven't even played the first so want to do the remaster of that but feck knows when I'll have time.

Is this now the random gaming chat thread?

AW2 is on the Xbox you know. So it's relevant.

And up there for game of the year too.

I'm really enjoying it, I want to to Skylines too but have just got into Satisfactory so there's no way my brain is going to handle two games like that at once

It has been a great one!

I feel like i should play the first one before i pick it up. Maybe play the control dlc. Looks great though.

The first one people call "clunky" but I actually thought the combat suited the game and setting. It's a great story/setting though, and so far the sequel is doing it justice. The Control DLC was okay, but made some misteps.

It's weird though, the Alan Wake 1.5 American Nightmare is such a cool game, and is clearly still cannon, but they don't seem to be doing that as a remaster.

The first was a great game and one of my favourites but I heard this one isn't a console exclusive so there's really no point playing it.

I did that back to back with The Darkness after a Blockbusters sale. Absolutely brilliant gaming times.

I'm probably grabbing it in the next week or so. It looks amazing.

It's very good so far, and graphically has taken over Cyberpunk. It's so well done, no wonder it took so long. The fact "Sam Lake" has injected himself into the game so heavily with his weird faces makes it so much better too, it's like Max Payne is back and your sidekick

I don't know how I was even supposed to be console-warring when in my first post in this discussion I accused Xbox of Shitehousery.

Any how enjoy the rest of your days guys.
My comment wasn’t aimed at you. It’s the passive aggressive attempts at ‘subtle’ digs about Xbox and the less than subtle weirdos. It’s very odd behaviour for adults.

I pity them

So after completing Lies of P (brilliant game btw) I needed a palate cleanser, something short and easy going.

Frog Detective is one Canadian-ass Australian game, and is making me laugh more than it should.

Does anyone play forza horizon? Which is the best one? Also are there better controllers than the standard oneS one for driving or can you get a steering wheel without pedals?

I never bother with specialist controllers.

Personally my favourite is FH4, they struck the right balance with interesting events and an enjoyable map. The seasons worked well and the add-ons are really good too. FH5 whilst really good, wasn't as good a map IMHO and the progression system wasn't as good as FH4 after a while of playing so that sense of achievement faded. Also the NPCs were even more annoying.

This is about right

I'd add that I played the shit out of FH4, was an absolutely great racing game and probably my favourite of all time. Took the best elements of PGR and stuck it all in a great open world map with tonnes of customisability.

I still miss PGR4.

For me the biggest issue with the Horizons, despite being awesome games (with awesome DLC) is that progression isn't a big deal. There's no sort of building yourself up to get a supercar. You get them from the start.

That's true, just get a bit of credit or a lucky spin and you've got the hoonigan that blasts the drift stuff and has an insane top speed.

I think FH4 did create a great event progression though, which they kinda broke in 5 by making that too easy. That's probably why I fell of 5 more quickly, whereas I put over 120 hours into FH4, which is 119.75 more hours than I'd put into most racing games.

Thanks guys. Right that's what I'd read, I'll get 4 then. Have you got any controller settings for me to try because I can't get it to stop weaving about all over the place?
