Is anyone else still playing Tetris Effect? It's still on GP if you have not played it, yet. It's probably the best game I've played on Series X, so far (I know). This is me playing it with Hue lights. It looked insane.

Yeah it's great

Yeah it's great
I was considering going for all the achievements but some of them are ridiculous.

I'm one game behind but I finished Far Cry 5, this week. It was some decent mindless fun. Some maddening things about it, though. You can not move for more than a minute in the open world without being spotted.

Oh, the game cost me £6 new on disc. The digital version was £55! And yes, that's Far Cry 5 not 6.

Edit: I should add, that FC 5 had a FPS Boost option, but it set the res to 1080p @ 60fps. I always thought I would choose framerate but it looked HORRIBLE compared to the 4k 30fps version.

I played through FC5 before the FPS boost - absolute gash without it. No reason to come back to as 1000g it.

I tried it, I just couldn't do 1080p. It looked like a different game at 4k.

Did you get all those Arcade achievements? Or where they not their at launch?

I did and it took forever - playing some stupid shovel throwing game.

I saw those ones and bailed! I was bored and I racked up 17 achievements in that game in one day. It was like the old days when I used to care about them.

Yeah they need an overhaul big time

Nice little machine. Have fun installing and then uninstalling about 99% of the gamepass games without getting half way through though.

You know, before finally deciding to try out and then getting addicted to the best game on it ;)

It’s a likely scenario in honesty, I will be picking and choosing.

How much? I always say I'll never buy Fifa again but I've always got a hankering to sort United out.

Welcome to the club, by the way.

Thank you!

PM me if you like, I’d be happy to give it to a cafeite that genuinely wants it for a decent price.

That's cool, but it's no Geometry Wars.

Is this the best place to keep an eye out for new releases coming up, or is there a dedicated thread? I feel the upcoming games are sparse which is sad to see, especially with the release of the Series X last year I've only bought two next gen games so far

If you've got Game Pass then there are still some great games coming out this year. Back 4 Blood came out a few days ago and Age of Empires 4 is out on the 28th of this month. Football Manager 22 and Forza Horizon 5 are both out on the 9th of November while Skyrim Anniversary Edition is out on the 11th. Finally Halo Infinite is out on the 8th of December. All of these are on Game Pass so you won't need to buy any of them.

Battlefield 2042 also comes out on the 19th of November, and because EA Play is a part of Game Pass you will be able to play the game for 10 hours free to see if you like it. You'll also then get a discount if you decide to buy it. Just another nice little perk.

Now that is a nice lineup! Love all those games (not heard of Back 4 Blood so will search it up). Cheers mate!

So the Mrs is away, im In bed and I’m annoyed with Nintendo currently as I switched (ahm) from Switch to OLED and they made the transition horrible. Rather than turning to my well worn sock and pornhub, I decided I’d check out xcloud on my iPad. Holy crap! Don’t know what I was expecting but right now I’m having a great time in Hades, zero perceivable lag and all of my saves are just there. I’m more of a PS gamer but you’ve gotta hand it to Xbox, they have their sh#t together when it comes to ease of use and things just working.

Just had a quick look at xloud on iPhone. It's crazy really. Controller connected and everything . Game loaded up quickly.

Don't know how much I'd use it, but impressed.

I've been playing more of Psychonauts 2 this week and it's a real joy, easily one of my favourite games in a long time.

Every level is a nugget of creative whimsy and the platforming, while a bit janky, is solid in that early 2000s what happened to those sort of games way.

The combat is a pain but thankfully the game doesn't demand it too often.

Great voice acting too, though I've a tendency to skip the cutscenes :)

I'm almost exclusively using cloud gaming at this point and you're right, it's extremely quick. I bought a bigger monitor for the bedroom just to play in bed.

Yeah it's a very charming game. Still stand by what I said that it doesn't hold a candle to It Takes Two or Rift Apart gameplay wise but it is a lot of fun.

Really glad to see The Forgotten City coming to gamepass, added it to my watch list recently for a sale.
