@Alock1 setting people up for disappointment. PSA keep your expectations in check people (if you haven't seen it yet). It was ok, not a bad conference, but no heavy hitters, nothing like Titanfall for example that had me contemplating a purchase.

There's stuff on the horizon no doubt but we know very little about it, very little gameplay, quite a lot of b-tier looking stuff too but time will tell on those.

If you have gamepass there's a lot there for you. If you are waiting for a big game to get you excited... There's very little there.

You can't call me out for overhyping it and gassing because I'm bias when I say it was the best to me because I am getting the vast majority of the games for free, and then get all defensive and upset when I say it back

As for expectations, it was exactly what was expected and if you check my predictions beforehand pretty much bang on. Don't pretend that you got all excited about Xbox and went in with high hopes before the show.

And yes - the conference that showed Titanfall etc. and was getting ripped as just another shooter, and with MS being largely criticized for 2nd hand games, DRM, kinect, price etc.etc.

My comments have basically been to me it was the best because I can get all the games for free, and if I couldn't then yeah fair enough it would just be a good conference but perhaps not enough to get you to buy in.

Hype!

But you're pushing your very subjective view of the conference as some objective fact. Even going as far as going on other forums to try and get some back up ffs.

Overall it was like a 6/10. Some games look alright. That Twelve Days looks good, we already knew about Bound4Blood, no where near enough of Starfield shown to get excited, yet. The rest were CG trailers, they're never worth getting excited for.

But as many of us have said, what's the system sellers, where's the big exclusive to attract people to the green side? There was none of that. I'll try and dig out the reddit post I found yesterday, the best of those games are exclusive for 3-6 months then they're available everywhere. Stalker is only a console exclusive for a month or two I believe.

I do like to wind you up a bit because you always bite, but you do yourself no favours when you talk in constant hyperbole when it comes to MS and Xbox.

Forza Horizon has absolutely no comparison on Playstation

After that event, I'm strongly considering selling my One S which has been lieing around unused since November, for a Series S, but on the other hand, I'm really hoping MS release their xCloud apps to be used on TVs, which would be a lot more convenient....

I've been using XCloud on my ipad for the last few weeks (via invite for beta). Works very well with no lag.

Using my Series X controller on it.

Nope, pushing subjective view as some objective fact is what you are doing. I caveated right away that it was subjective and why it was subjective, and even said I have a vested interested. Referencing the wider perception is just to show how far some of you will go to be negative

Haha, you don't wind me up, we're all here cause we're bored and I assume using it to avoid work or whatever else. Other than our beloved Waste, nobody else gives enough of a shit to have this stuff annoy them.

When it comes to favours - out of the 2 of us, I have both (all 3) consoles and don't spend my time downplaying every bit of news in another console's thread mate.

If you have gamepass there's a lot there for you. If you are waiting for a big game to get you excited... There's very little there.

Even without gamepass, I'm sure there'd be many who would get excited for Halo, Forza Horizon 5, Flight Sim, a new IP from Prey/Dishonoured dev and a new game from Elder Scrolls makers regardless of a CG trailer - they might not be for you, but they're clearly not B tier and have AAA budgets and developers. Maybe you're predisposed to not lean in or get excited because you know you can't get them. Maybe..

Take it to the other thread or I'll be handing out threadbans. You know the drill.

To be fair, someone calling out the Xbox conference as disappointing and others disagreeing is surely fine in here?

Fair enough Damo but just to be clear this isn't some versus banter. I was just genuinely underwhelmed.

Yeah that's fair enough. Just glanced at the posts now and most of the bringing up of the other console has been by Xbox users.

But not by me! <3

Suck it other Xbox users

Wait..

To get back on track (pun intended), posting the FH5 trailer from the main conference. My live stream for E3 was terrible, really blurry and apparently everybody's was the same due to 1080p output and compression.

This is a real step up from even the Forza Horizon 4 next-gen upgrade, which was one of the best looking games I've seen on next gen already. How this is cross-play, and looks that good in an open world, is crazy.

I hope they don't do seasons (not car/battle pass seasons, but Autumn/Winter etc.) like on FH4, or if they do, they don't lock you in for an extensive period of time.

I felt like there was a lot of pop in during that gameplay. Obviously not the finished product and it still looked mint but it really drives me mad in racing games (pun intended).

no lag, yeh ok

cut the bullshit it’s not possible for a service that is streaming a game to you to be anywhere near the response you would get from actual high end hardware.

I can promise you there is plenty of delay on any service be it playstation or Xbox. Play a twitch shooter and come back to me.

Why would you play a game like that on a console?

I wouldn't but a lot of you do, streaming services in games have been pushed on us for years now, all i'm saying is they are not lag free any game that requires precise control be it a dark souls/sekiro or an arcade shooter is not fun to play on any of these services.

So don't sell it as something that it isn't "lag free."

I've tried Forza and Halo MCC. Granted I'm not too far from the router (80mb) but have experienced no lag.

Is it wonderful for other users - probably not. It's still in beta.
Whether we are ready for this (due to current infrastructure) I doubt it.

But it worked very well for me. So no bullshit from me.

Mate you bought a console that you're scared to play certain games on during the week. You couldn't wind up a yoyo.

As a gamer with gamepass I'm fecking excited for the next 18 months and won't have to shell out an extra penny for it.

Compare that to the £170 odd I already shelled out for a remake that is inferior to the last game in the series, a good but utterly broken game, and r&c which is actually amazing.

Must have wound you up enough to make this post though (also wrong thread).

I just enjoy watching you console war when you are the only person here who clearly should have bought the other one.

An Xbox wouldn't give you the severe anxiety you've been getting off your PS5 because it has some great UX features like quick resume.

First I've heard about my apparent severe anxiety. Thank god you were here to tell me about it.

ive experienced little to no issues. Played MLB timing was perfectly fine when batting with no delay or timing of hit issues. Forza for driving worked well too. PES worked smooth. I have not played online with it though, as I only piss away spare time when work is quiet. I do have 1gig internet with single digit ping though so I’m best case scenario

still obviously prefer console but it’s an easy and quick alternative when I’m not in same room

I can assure you, you are wrong but i'm not going to argue against it.

People just don't notice or aren't used to it so it may feel "lag free" to them.

I can see the appeal to a casual gamer or someone who plays story driven/less mechanically skilled games being able to play on whatever devices they want though.

This is just explicitly for certain types of games.

If people don't notice the lag then who cares if there is actually lag or not? If you're too purist to play over a connection then fair enough but for those who are happy why do you care?

Pretty good if it's working for MLB. Batting well relies on some quick decisionmaking.

I was just correcting misinformation i couldn't care less if you enjoy it or not, go wild.
