Valverde should have been sacked at the end of his second season, as a response to the Liverpool fiasco, or allowed to finish the 19/20 season. The mistake they made is sacking him for the Liverpool game but half a year later.
He might go to Leverkusen when Alonso leaves for Liverpool. Would at least fit their style.

On here it does mate. On here if you keep any manager long enough, they become SAF, or more recently they become Arteta

There's tons of options for that title and Xavi is arguably in the conversation. He's not my choice but I can see the reasons why.
When I say central midfielders I don't include no.10s like Zidane and De Bruyne. Gullit and Rijkaard an argument can be made but not for me.
Best to play in that Barcelona and Spain system, for sure.
Definitely wouldn't suit other play styles as much though.

Very sad. Had it in him to be a generational no.8, but Barcelona and Spain decided to commit child employment law crimes and made him play about 75 matches at the age of 18. Looking more and more like a Verratti/Thiago scenario.

Too short, too slow, not physical. I don't think Xavi would fit in a lot of teams, those that don't prioritise ball possession. Like Mourinho teams back in the day.
He struggled initially at Barcelona, they called him the windscreen wiper due to his sideways passing. Without Rijkaard and then Pep he might have had a very different career. Imagine Mourinho went there, he'd have been benched probably.
As much as I enjoy to see him struggling with Barcelona at least he has some dignity and pride to step down. Don't think he wasn't as bad for them but their club is a mess so I'm sure he's gonna end up managing them in the future.
If Jose went there, Messi would have been sold.
But I do think Iniesta was probably more versatile than Xavi and I preferred him.
You probably shouldn't do it at the end of January in the middle of a results crisis, though.
