I was thinking the same thing.
This is my first year ever really being exposed to this abomination. I am not sure if the arguemnet is true that it is effecting other real bands from being signed as I believe it is hitting a different market entirely, i.e. the smash hits market.
I do however believe that it can take genuinely talented singers and ruin their careers before they even get off the ground. Apparently their flagship winner was Leona Lewis and she has done absolutely nothing since her win say release a terrible song about bleeding alot. That one from last year, has she even released a song of note?
For those reasons I really do think that winning this could be the worse thing that could happen to Rebecca Ferguson. She is an incredible singer and could go on to superstardom but not using this show as a vehicle. By winning this show her handsw will be tied and they will have her singing formulaic pop songs one after another. They'd probably insist on her doing dance numbers to boot.
Having said all that I am not sure that even if she did not win would she still be contracted to the XFactor and have to take part in their humilating tours?

Multi-platinum artist. Nominated for several Grammy's. First British artist to EVER debut in the US album charts at number one. She performed Whole Lotta Love with the god that is Jimmy Page at the Beijing Olympics for crying out loud. That tops everything!
I have to say I generally hate the X Factor and think it's a complete pile of commercial shite and think acts like Cher, One Direction and that Wagner are such fecking bollocking crap that they should feck off this planet...
However, I was told by someone that Matt did a great performance of 'Nights in White Satin'. I love that song so much, and I was pretty certain he would have made a complete balls of it and in true Cowell-style completely ruined a great song, but I watched it and I have to admit I was very, very surprised. He was amazing.
It was a truly fantastic performance, and I can see Matt is very talented as a musician. He should definitely win it if the show is to have any credibility.

For someone like Matt winning the show would probably be a disaster if he wants any credible long term music career.
He'll basically be a puppet for the organisation whereas if he doesn't win he'll have had all this exposure and more of a freedom when it comes to choosing the path he wants to go down.

Rebecca sounds like shes strangling a lethargic cat and Matt I'd hazard to say is the best but even then, he's crap.
Don't get be wrong, she bores the bejesus out of me, but I'm happy to give credit where credit is due. If you had to have a personality to achieve success then that would rule out about 90% of the greatest artists out there.

Believe it or not, the one time I bump the thread I wasn't watching it, kinda wanted reviews of the performances.
Rebecca is so fecking boring. Amazing voice, but so, so, so boring!
So fecking annoying: Cher and that One direction band were absolutely shite, yet they all claim how great they are. Are they tone deaf or what? Neither can sing. I guess Simon simply wants to push certain people in the final 3.
That Simon & Cheryl annoy the feck out of me, Simon last night having a crack at Louis saying he had the flu too all week & he still had to get on with things & it shouldn't be used as an excuse, Louis replied he didn't have to get up & stage & sing etc, next feckin' thing on One Directions intro it came out Simon the twat was in bed for 2/3 days & he had to leave the mentoring to guess who? Cheryl Tweedy. I hope Mary gets through to the final tonight as it'll piss Simon & the other one off big time. She is imo the best singer left on the show certainly miles better than them little shite bags One Direction & Cher a one that could seriously do with eating a good feed.

Mary and Cher are in the bottom 2 and ive heard that Danni and Louis vote for Mary and Simon n Cheryl vote for Cher to take it to deadlock. I obviously don't know if the last bit is true but it's what I've heard.
Is it not the semi final this week with the final this week? Don't they also only have 3 in the final? Should two not go out?
I have absolutely no idea. As I said, the only bit I'm sure is right is who's got the 2 fewest votes. Not sure about all the other stuff.
