Wout Weghorst

Feck me, even trying to sign shite players like Weghorst has to be a saga. I guess United were right - they truly are a special club.

Looks like he’s our guy. Hope we haven’t backed the wrong horst

He seems like a journeyman. Would make sense to play him in the cup games so Martial and Rashford get some rotation. In terms of the rebuild, getting top four is the main target. Domestic silverware is a distant second.
What trophy do you think we could win this season, ETH's first?
Wouldn’t mind a domestic cup. This squad needs to learn how to win something together. Yes, I’d take a top 4 over a domestic cup because of the financial implications, but would be nice.

This will be a fun gadget option. I wanted Felix but if the club didn't want to stump that fee up for 6 months then I'm cool with this. Not expecting much besides the odd goal and maybe some annoyance of defenses as a target man, but it doesn't matter we needed a player that we can rotate in considering we are still in 4 competitions and have 1 striker in the squad at the moment.

On the contrary.
Did EtH not say a day or so ago that Martial was not able to 'take the load'
That means that his fitness is either not up to the required standard that EtH demands or he can not cope with the fixture schedule.
Either way, he can not or does not perform to the level expected by the manager.
It mainly means that we have 1 striker where as we have at least 2 in every other position.

Love Ten Hag. But he must take the Dutch blinkers off. Why are United after a player who is surplus to requirements at Burnley?! I would actually rather have Arnautovic. Because we are scrambling around for a replacement for Ronaldo when really we should have filled that hole ages ago when he sought an exit in the summer.
The embarrassment is that we may not be able to get him.

We are currently a side with a striker coach but no legitimate strikers.

Not sure? Ask yourself the question: Will having a Wout bring me joy?

If you read through the thread you might be a bit more amenable to the idea.

To be fair, Burnley is not exactly lighting it up. He also might have wanted the loan to avoid playing in the championship to keep him sharp for the world cup. This could end up being one of those brilliant off the radar moves. Trust ten Hag.

He isn't surplus to Burnley. May be a bit of reading the thread will help.

Just because he was shit at Burnley for 6 months you ignore the rest of his career? Ten Haag's signings have all been good so far so I'd trust his judgement

not the club, the leeches

To those wanting both Depay and Wout, apparently you can only have two players in on loan at same time and we already have one loanee. Is this correct?

I remember him making a mockery of Maguire when we faced Burnley last season. He's no Halaand but he has talent.
