Would you take Pickford over Onana?

As title really, rumours that Onana wants to leave, I’d take him purely because he’s a great shot stopper and he is good with the ball at his feet

He wouldn’t be my choice but yes, he’s better than Onana.

Was thinking this the other day and the answer, unfortunately, is probably yes. Onana has made a lot of clangers since he’s been here.

He's a better keeper than Onana so if we're talking hypothetical straight swap then yes obviously

As far as a potential purchased replacement though, Pickford isn't at the required level either and probably not enough of an improvement to justify buying him

He's not a better keeper at all.

No. If we replace Onana (as we should, even though he's not our biggest problem), we shouldn't bring in an average player that won't improve us much and that we're going to struggle to offload when the time comes. We have enough of those.

I'm not even sure if he's better than Onana personally.

It would be a sideways step. They're both good keepers but not the top echelon.

I’d take a training cone with a smiley face drawn on it

If these are my only two choices, yes. But we can do better for cheaper elsewhere, I think.

No, Everton will want way to much over is real value. Should have gone for Diogo Costa day one. But here we are, 2 seasons later and probably looking for a new keeperm

He was absolutely shit against us, is he having a good season?

He’s definitely a better goalkeeper than Onana and wouldn’t cost us as many points during a campaign. But I feel United should be aiming for a higher standard in goal than the both of them.

I thought I was at the stage where I’d take a traffic cone over Onana. But I wouldn’t stoop to Pickford.

100 percent. Pickford gets a hard time for his weird mannerisms and his memorable errors 5-6 years ago, but he's cut the errors out of his game more recently. Two seasons on the bounce he almost single-handedly kept Everton up with his shot stopping. Onana is a worse shot stopper. Neither has great distribution though.

Scraping the bottom of the barrel tbh. I mean he’s probably better than Onana but that’s not saying much.

Stab myself in the left nut or the right. This is basically what this question is. I’d choose the left nut I guess

I was told here repeatedly that it was essential to United’s success that we bring in a “modern keeper”. Onana is a modern keeper, but he’s not an elite shot stopper. Pickford isn’t as deft with his feet as Onana, but us the better shot stopper, though he’s a prone to the howler as Onana.

If I were forced to choose between the two, it would be close but I’d stick with Onana.
