Most don't actually look into it deep enough.

There is no reason why Conte wouldn't play with 3 up front or even agree to playing with a back 4.

I'm Conte in.

Klopp, Pep were big misses for us and when we didn't back Jose how he should have been were left with the best of the rest.

Well you can blame that Toy Story puppet for missing out on Klopp due to that "Adult Disneyland" garbage pitch and Fergie not approaching Pep before he had already given his word to Bayern and now we are paying the price for him big time

Di Marzio is a journalist authority on all Italian football matters. I don’t think his hit rate outside of Italy is great from memory, but it’s pretty great in Italy.

I imagine he’ll have sources that are close to Conte, and it wouldn’t surprise me if Utd are rushing around trying to make it look like we’re not dumping OGS unceremoniously and they’re going to paint it like it was a decision that wasn’t taken lightly (even though it was), so brief old Oggie and MotherDucker to downplay it.

The misconceptions and underrating of Conte on here is mad. The guy is a fantastic manager. I have no doubt that if he comes here then he will win something.

Exactly. Just listen to the Chelsea supporters on here. I’m sure people would be positively surprised by him.

What are people here afraid of? That we'll win some titles if Conte takes over?

In any case, anyone who is Ole in has to give Conte at least 3 years before they say anything negative.

Won in Italy, won in England, went back to Italy and won again.

I mean, just do the math. 100% convinced he'll win the title with us. He is so good he turned freakin' VICTOR MOSES into an elite wingback!

All the promise of Rashford, Greenwood, Sancho and others will go down the drain when at least two of them are sat on the bench every week.

Who should we be getting instead, considering who appears to be available? If we had a go at unearthing a (relatively) unknown gem like Potter or Frank it could pay off but it could fall apart just as easily. Conte's credentials are good, it looks the most logical move for us as far as I can see right now.

We need to find the next Klopp, or someone like the next Tuchel. I don't watch enough to really know who that could be, I've never watched Ten Haag outside of one or two games in the CL for instance.

I have watched a lot of Conte though as Inter had quite a lot of United players and the play style wasn't great. He does have a great CV but I can see us getting dominated against the better teams, it'll be Mourinho all over again.

I'd put my shout as Potter, everytime I watch Brighton play they dominate but struggle to finish chances (lack of a good striker), the players are all really well coached. He's a very good man manager, I think he did some stuff regarding psychology once. I also like their squad building, though whether that's down to Potter or the backroom staff I don't know.

I can’t think of a better audition for the United job than taking Lukaku, Young, Sanchez, Darmian and turning them into Serie A champions in a league that had previously been dominated by Juventus.

Bunch of smoke coming out of Italy today, you'd think a new Pope has been elected

Our squad is imbalanced in attack so no matter who comes in, few players will always miss out. This squad is good enough to challenge and Conte might help us achieve that. I would rather have that than wait for players to fulfill their potential.

Guess who kick started that Juve run of dominance with 3 straight titles in the first place?

Potter is good but enough of these experiments. United deserve a world class manager.

We can get Conte for 2-3 years, won some good trophies and challenge for big prizes then when the "next Klopp or Tuchel" are available we can hire them.

I really don't see the issue here.

That was always going to happen the moment we signed Ronaldo. I'd rather a formation that would allow us to play Cavani over Greenwood anyway.

The issue is the difference between hiring someone that can build a CL or PL winning team, and potentially hiring the next Jose.

I don't mind Conte as a short term fix though, give him the season and see what he comes up with. At least he's made his bones way more than Ole has.

Graham Potter vs Antonio Conte?

Look, I'm sorry but I wish people stop this "next Jose" nonsense. Current Conte is far better than the version of Mourinho we got.

Why did Conte leave Chelsea?
He fell out with their DOF, mainly Marina Granovskaia, after they spent 200m pounds on this lot

Many of which the club chose rather than himself.

That's the only reason why I don't think it would last even though I think he'd be a success here, he wouldn't put up with clownery from the Glazers

Chelsea initially gave Tuchel an 18 month contract, PSG gave Pochettino an 18 month contract.

We can’t afford to piss about with a caretaker manager, there’s too much at stake. Failure to finish top 4 would be a disaster. Offer Conte an 18 month contract and move on.

I think if we make this change now we still might challenge this year. Call me delusional if you like but I rate Conte that highly.

Look it's Ole or Conte or Zidane. We can't be fecking choosy. Ten Haag isn't happening this early on in the season. Give him a short term contract and see what he can do. After all, we have no qualms giving Ole a fresh three year contract for absolutely no reason at all. It goes tits up (which I severely doubt), we move on. Shit happens.
