I’m not defending ole but the owners are also to blame with that shit window.
Partly yea but we have a decent squad, certainly better than that what we look like. Ole is clearly the worst manager we had since SAF retired. Owners don't coach the team and they probably don't even know who Ole is. All the managers we had have been backed fine so I don't know how can you put that on the Glazers. Ed's selection of managers is just terrible though. Ole should have never been anywhere near this job but somehow he is the manager for nearly 2 years now. It's very frustrating seeing him in the dugout but unfortunately many of our fans still think he is the right man for the job so we just have to deal with it.

Because you'll have people bringing up his form since February to suit their agenda. But they won't let you use any games prior to February, just because...

I'm not sure when a managers form from the previous season has ever really mattered in modern times. Plenty of managers have won things and been sacked a-few months into the next season after some poor form. Plenty of managers have done the same with underdog teams; kept them up etc and been sacked a-few months into the next season. It's kind of stupid that some will say: Oh look at his form since we signed Bruno or whatever. This is the 2020/21 season and he should be judged on the here and now. It's also conveniently glossing over that many were expressing concerns with our style of play during our post-COVID run and felt we were very lucky at times and we needed to improve in a-lot of areas.
Ranieri won the league with Leicester City and was canned early the next season for arguably a better manager for the team at that moment in time. Supporters of this club need to get over their fixation of loyalty. There is no loyalty in this sport in the modern era because of the amount at stake be it money or success.

Isn't anybody going to mention the completely dull, uneventful and lethargic way we park the bus for a full half these days?

Honestly, I just feel like doing something else when I watch a game.
These days? These years more like.

100 games is more than enough to assess a manager. The verdict on Ole should be rather obvious...he's not good enough to take us back to the top. So his fate depends on the club's ambition. If the club wish to return to the top, they need to get a better manager in. Arteta is 39 games in and his footballing direction is so much clearer than Ole's after 100. We're still trying to figure Ole out, and making excuses for him. Not good enough...

It’s weird how everyone hated Jose & everyone loves Ole yet Jose had a noticeably better points per game record.

It’s almost like some of you are blinded by the romance of Ole being a former player...
No, no, no. I have better. Everyone hated Jose because he is not "playing on United way". And now we have manager who is ultra defensive. Jose's main plan at OT at least wasn't to sit deep and wait.

Ole needs to get his mojo back soon against the top 6 because even that legacy is starting to fail him this season. Played 3, lost 2, drawn 1.
He needs to change his approach because our top 6 rivals have made adjustments to nullify our predominantly counterattacking approach in these games. We've now seen two top 6 teams play cautiously. Arteta had them foul the heck out of us before we could get the ball to the attackers and Lampard played deep. Last season these guys just committed men forward and didn't respect it.

You'd think Arsenal ran over us based on the replies in here

It was a dead even game. Pogba's moronic mistake cost us, unfortunately. But I guess that is Ole's fault as well...

Also, the referee was useless.
Give your head a wobble - we looked like the away team for the vast portion of the game. Camped in our half and struggling to string 4 passes together. 0-0 would have flattered us.

Only VdB was an early signing. Cavani has not played any football for 7 months and Telles was such a late signing so he wasn’t even here for our first few games.
Ole needs to get more consistency out of the current players, but most of the new signings haven’t contributed anything so far because of our dithering in the transfer window.

He needs to get more consistency out of himself first.

He almost makes me remember fondly the Moyes days. LVG’s cure for insomnia brand of football was so much better than what we are having now.

He should have been sacked half a dozen of times already, but unfortunately would be here until this season is fecked for good.

Yeah, it was reminiscent of the worst football under LVG. It has to be said though that Arsenal were well up for it, and again, just like against Leipzig, we couldn't move the ball up the pitch due to their pressing. Arteta shouting non-stop on the sideline while Ole sat in the stands.

The first half was almost exclusively in our half of the pitch. Strange it took Ole the whole half to change the formation. We looked like a team with some sort of a plan for the first 15 minutes in the 2nd half, until the sub.

The doubters are still waiting for Ole to show he can take the initiative in matches against the better teams.

We are at the point where we he is making excuses for himself. That's usually the death knell for a manager at this club. Eventually one will stick and we may get a champions league and title win. I doubt we will get close to that with a manager if Ole's caliber. I hate to see it because it is Ole but look at the results being excused because we somehow got 3rd place last season. I want to see our two European games in our own league, the right tactics, formations and players singing from the same sheet. Today was an absolute shit show compared to that.

Hmmm, do I think a post from someone called 'OleBoiii' who joined in October 2019 is going be objective or doused in bias and twisting of reality... Hard one.

We came in the top 4 last year due to Bruno coming in, nothing else, we’d have been no where near it without him. I used to think we were progressing but there are too many matches were we show no urgency whatsoever, andh, he needs to give them a rocket during the game, try and spark something in them. Do you think Ferguson would just sit there and watch today’s performance, no chance.

Semi’s are fine but I can’t see Ole winning anything with this under dog mentality he must be putting into the players. Are you happy with these types of performances? They seem to happen quite a bit don’t they.

 Idk why but this also bothers me. Where is the passion? He doesn’t have to be SAF but show that you give a damn.

Attaboy. He should walk now whilst he still has some dignity and respect.

He needs to get more consistency out of himself first.
Not at all, he is not playing for us anymore. It’s the consistency on the pitch which counts. So he needs to get more out of the players he sends on the pitch.

It's not so weird when you think about it.

Ole is a club legend who built a rapport with the fans through years of dedicated service to the club. Jose is an egotistical, self-serving narcissist, dedicated to the betterment of himself and himself alone. There is no comparison between the two.

And you're right, many of us have had our opinions affected by a misguided sense of loyalty where Ole is concerned. I can't bring myself to drag his name through the mud even now.

My lord he loves to excuse how shite we are doing by using how shit we also were last season. Either way it's both shite.
Is this the mentality we need, bringing up the past. Stay in the present Ole and yes in CL you are doing well but in the league you are on sackable form and if it continues you will/should hopefully get what you deserve.

I hate the fact this is a season where we've got a chance to do something in the league potentially and we look nowhere near once again.

This is what hurts the most. We have the 3rd best team in the league and for the first time in years it’s open and we are fighting relegation.

Honestly, it's not good enough. The results aren't good enough.
A comment like that irritates me, because had that been a Moyes or an LVG, a comment like that would not be tolerated, yet somehow he keeps getting away with embracing mediocrity.

Last season involved some of our most dismal runs of form, and he's somehow suggesting that not being on the same run is slightly better?
Pitiful.

He is the bleedin manager. He has to be more consistent as the manager. He is worse that the tinker man. He has no clue and I say that now because after a good game, he changes the whole thing and it collapses. It shows that it was a gamble that won us games. If he cannot get the best out of the players he bought and sends out then he should be sacked as he is not competent enough to get the best out of them.

He's not the man to bring us forward. The league table don't lie, great performances at PSG and Leipzig can't hide the mess in the league. There is no need to say personal things about a legend of the club. The performances this year haven't been near good enough. If it was any other manager people would be looking for an new one. 7 points from 6 games, not a win at home. This isn't good enough for the squad available to the coaching staff.

Team selection, fitness, tactics and subs have to be questioned. I feel we could beat Bayern but loss to Fulham in the next game. We are going nowhere, the sad reality is that fans know we aren't going to get the consistency to win major honours. The players have a responsibility but the way we are setup is not near good enough. Putting two dm's in front of CB's because you don't trust the pairing? There is a difference in going out to play with risk and going to play with fear. Arteta has a poor Arsenal team, he tactically got the most out of them today. Ole has struggled to get a system in place with a completely fit team, time for a fresh approach. Nobody wants to start again with a new manager but it's groundhog day with Ole and these players.

I hate the fact this is a season where we've got a chance to do something in the league potentially and we look nowhere near once again.
It's the Leicester season all over again. If we managed 80 points back then, we'd have won the league. Instead, we finished outside the top 4.

This season is looking very similar. Simply infuriating.

We will never find any consistency under Ole. Shouldn’t be allowed to reach Christmas but I think his European form might keep him here longer then he should be.

Ole has given us something to get excited about in the CL, but his league form is woeful.

Jose got sacked after a terrible team selection and performance against Liverpool.

Ole's subs today and the fact he didn't take pogba off even though he was the worst player on the pitch, should be grounds alone for the sack. That was unforgivable. There was no reason to keep pogba on the pitch.

I was calling for him to come off way before the pen, just knew he was gonna do something stupid today.

This, league was there for the taking this year. Let's not forget that the board let the club down massively in the summer but regardless of that, performances aren't what they should be. We have 1 point from a possible 4 at home. Should be sacked now and probably would if he wasn't a club legend.

The champions league results are somewhat meaningless as I don't think any of us think we can win the competition, sure it can be a fun ride but top 4 and the league should be the priority from here.

This is sadly all but very true, blinded by love for Ole instead of the fact he isn't good enough. Will always love him as a player but can't respect him as a manager. :nono:

The problem is that this is used to somehow imply that he's doing a good job.

I think both games showed good tactical nous and the Leipzig game was very satisfying.

But the stupid overreactions on here especially after the Leipzig game were so small time. We beat a team that cost about a 20th of ours at home in the CL group phase and there were threads and wild OTT celebrations on here. It's the kind of small time nonsense we would slate other fans for.

I hate the fact this is a season where we've got a chance to do something in the league potentially and we look nowhere near once again.

Aye, I feel the same way. One thing we can be sure of is the that next manager will have a wealth of talent at his disposal when he takes the job, neither Ole or his predecessors were afforded that luxury. We should be grateful to Ole for that.

There is a top side lurking within that United squad, I'm sure of it.
