Interviewer: is home form a worry?
Maguire: no, it's not

Maguire in denial.

I understand people want to see him succeed. Everyone does. But our league form right now is not acceptable. It wasn't acceptable at the beginning of last year either.

We can't ignore that when expectations are highest, we crumble and he has the be held partly responsible for that. We can't ignore also that whenever we are expected to break down a low block or hold possession for most of the game we fail.

This is exactly why it's simply mad to suggest he's the man to win us our next title. We crumble under the least bit of pressure and put in the odd performance when we're expected to lose. We are where we are on the table because we have a manager that relegated Cardiff and hasn't won anything outside of Norway.

Same old really, we can't play play on the front foot or create unless we have acres of space and we generally only perform when we desperately need to rather than having a system and a level of focus that can be relied upon consistently.

Great coach!!

Gets the tactics right every time, knows how to set us up against everbody.

Also great man management, the way he got Pogba to his best play since the World cup.

We'll be triple champs in a year or so.

We're not even at Christmas yet. There's no way he gets sacked unless something drastic happens behind the scenes, ie losing the dressing room.
Well something drastic is happening on the pitch, no home win in four and donating points to top four rivals like Rashford does food to hungry school kids. If we don't act soon then next term its Europa again, in this COVID era can we afford to lose CL revenue nevermind the Sporting setback?

Ole interview bingo: 'Not good enough', 'focus on the next game', 'we were poor out there', 'I take responsibility', Disappointed'.

You win the game for eternity if you catch him saying: 'My tactics and subs were fecking awful. Pogba was absolute shite.'

If Ole was in the Italian League he would have been sacked long ago.

I love Ole and his love for United is great but he's not a football manager.

........and Pogba can be sold now before any more catastrophies.

No, that don't have to mean that. That league is poor. It could be that two teams infront of us were just to brilliant.

Yeah 2 brilliant teams in front of us the first year but if you are given 200m on top of it, you should atleast make sure you improve your team big time.

Guess what, we still got 66 points.

We might have to accept that the only way he'll get the boot is if he relegates us or if he resigns. Both highly unlikely. Not as unlikely as him winning a trophy with us as a manager.

For the first time I'm done with him.

Can't tell a difference between him, Moyes and Mourinho. Cowardly football, always on the back foot, always reactionary. Outdated, shit football.

Love Ole but after performances against Chelsea and especially today against Arse, I wouldnt care much if he goes tbh. the problem is there is no one out there I could get behind either. So might as well stick with him until some promising names come up.

Worse home form than West Brom after having played a game more! All the while playing the worst kind of negative Mourinho football. The writing should be on the wall (but knowing Ed he will wait until its too late).

I don't think anyone really believes he will win us a title, just lay the foundations for that. He's laid his foundations, now let's get the man who will take us to the top of the pile. I would really like to see Hasenhuttl. However unlikely it is we'll win the league I would want to see us play good football consistently.

15th and 7 points after 6 games? Déjà vu anyone? He’s actually managed a point less than last season.
Has a squad of very good players so he’ll keep getting some exceptional results, but consistency is never happening and you’re a fool if somehow you think after 2 years it’s magically gonna change.

Our poor form is down to the breakup of the Rashford,Martial and Greenwood front 3 IMO plus.

We have no depth and thats down to years of under investment all accross the club from scouting to purchases.

All these posters that’ve come out from under their rocks

A lot of us have been Ole out from day one.

You go can climb back under yours and continue to live in mediocrity. If he hadn't played for us and won us trophies he would've never been hired in first place.

Moyes was handed the Champions of England and turned them into spamming crosses 90 times and Mourinho sacrificed attacking play for defensive football and in doing so created a defence that the Cafe wanted at least 3-4 of the back 5 replaced entirely by the time he was gone.

Drop points to Everton and it has to be curtains. Should probably just call it a day today but that won't happen.

Still think sooner this experiment comes to an end the better, there’s no rebuild or clear plan just a very limited manager trying his best and making it up as he goes along. We’re lucky to have points we have in the league and aren’t in a false position, without those two Champions League wins Ole would be on the brink.

It’s constant ups and downs and still no clear identity being established, Arteta has had less time, spent less money and doesn’t even have a great squad but there is at least evidence of a plan.

Feel depressed about this season already. Title will go to Liverpool or City even if they have played like crap so far, but they win anyway somehow.
We will fight for top 4 if we are lucky. Midtable though might be our home this season with OGS.

Winning against fecking Leipzig shouldn't save his job.

We have like 100 times the budget of Leipzig. Beating PSG was impressive though. Leipzig was still a great performance but with the players we have we really should beat teams like those.

Still maintaining hes the guy who potentially lays the foundation for a better guy to come in and potentially take the team to the next level. Not a bad thing at all but I get the feeling we’re witnessing the peak of his powers, with that 3rd place finish.

If it was Jose or LVG who were 1 draw and 3 defeats at home in the league (and only 2 goals scored), this forum would be voting 90% out.

Whoever we appoint has to have a distinct style and pattern of play that they don't run from based on the matchup.

That's a bare minimum, basic requirement.

After 2 years I genuinely couldn't say what Solskjaer's preferred style of play is. A sort of half-baked counter attack? A style and formation that changes wildly based on who we play? No consistent attacking patterns.

Even managers like Hassenhuttl and Potter, maybe the personnel isn't always there to make it work, but they have an ethos and they stick to it.

Hassenhuttl, Nagelsmann or Rose should be our next manager. Not interested in Poch either for similar reasons.

You actually weren't proving anything at all. And your narrow focus on the points total doesn't tell the whole story of the season either.

Keep believing whatever you want mate. The fact is we are regressing every week from a point stand point. You can quote me and shame me if I am proved wrong.

But for now, we are doing worse than last year means we wont even hit 66 points at this rate.

To be fair, you defend him, say he's doing a good job, but put a statement defending todays result and our league position
Very tight game decided by a penalty. Not great but hardly worthy of the hyperbole it will no doubt inspire.

You could give him Messi, Ronaldo and Mbappe and the same thing would happen. We would just about finish top 4 after being outside of it all season and lose in the KO stages of the Champions League and the cups winning absolutely nothing. And most our fans would probably be happy with that.

The problem with Ole's reign is that he goes on a 10 game run where he can't win a game, then he goes on a 10 game run where he wins every game.

He needs to sort that out.

We will be always inconsistent under him and never good enough. Ole has hit his limit tactically IMO.

There’s no excuse anymore, when he didn’t have the players last season it was one thing, and he did steady the ship. We have the players to do much better now though, if we don’t turn it around quickly in the league then it’s time to look at giving someone else a go. I love Ole, and loads of us have backed him to the hilt, but we can’t keep dropping points in a pretty average Premier league.

Are you not concerned with the performances in the league this season? Before you answer remember this is Manchester United we're talking about, not fecking West Ham United.
