Yeah well said, 100%. All those people criticising him and the performance don’t know what they’re talking about.

To beat a world, world class Brighton team in that manner shows that we’re going in the right direction.
This bullshit right here is the problem with our club and our fans' expectations. We won by the proverbial modern-day football miracle.

How many times did they hit the post, how many times were we caught with our pants down in defence.

Our players look completely gassed and our manager takes 80 minutes to make his remaining two subs? And instead of putting an energetic midfielder, he puts on another CB because he didn't pick the right pairing off the bat and because he cannot organise our defence to save his life.

Seriously, do you Ole inners believe we can keep getting away with these shit performances?
Even if we had only drawn there would have been little point being angry at this juncture. I have little expectations for this season but regardless we're unlikely to see any real resulting impact from that until at least Christmas.

The issue with Ole, without trying to get into an Ole in and Ole out fan divide - even if we accept he's a decent coach, it's clear he is not tactical enough to take us to the level we need to be.

It's necessary to get talented players and have them all kept happy under an attacking philosophy. However it is not sufficient to only do this. They need to be well drilled, they need to have a strong understanding of a team press and they need to be capable of operating under a plan B if needed. I do not think Ole will be capable of taking us to the level we need to be just by having generational talents and asking them to attack. Lets be honest, that's what he's doing and when it works it's great but its too patchy.

With Ole, Ed and the Glazers we're not going to improve. Ole will be fired somewhen and the next manager supported in the transfer window next summer

Already a better start to the season than in 2007/08

Oh and game and result reminded me of the Southampton game in SAF’s last season when RvP scored the hattrick.

We really need to improve our play as well as add more depth to the squad.

I'm not going to do that. Have had way too many arguments with him towards the end of last season.

The issue with Ole Outers is that it seems they were actually cheering for Brighton today. Ofcourse, I realize that we were hopeless today, however, it seems that this was one of those games after which Ole couldn't have been appreciated no matter how the game would have gone
I was being facetious :D

My issue is many of them were vehemently Jose In, got egg on their face, and now are carrying out a vendetta against Ole b/c their beliefs about hiring a manager with a certain CV has turned on its head. I'm just here to laugh at them.

I guess you start supporting United after we started winning trophies.
Yeah.
Just before Ron Atkinson won his first FA Cup.
Only united fan in my entire school in London at the time.
Proper glory hunter me.

This summer, I was telling all of my friends I wanted United to stick with Ole. "One more year". That PL comeback during this spring was insane, and I thought he'd earned it. Now I don't know if I'm slowly turning into the unpatient the caf-knight that I so truly despise, but hell - how can the team play this bad? We're better than Brighton on every single position on paper, yet Pogba and Bruno looks like Gibson and Cleverley trying to hit a fecking pass. And why the actual feck can that right post be so fecking open for every single attack by BRIGHTON. He must see it as well as we do, right? How that situation appeared abouy 5-6 times today is beyond me!? Sack the fecker even if the only true way we can get back to winning days is by getting rid of woody and Glazers too.

it’s great fun isn’t it?
Almost as much as enjoying our team win under Ole.

He was always a transitional manager. You're not supposed to wait for them to fail or undo all the progress they made.

If you re a knee jerker...you re in the place to be :)

He has done some very good things during his time here. However, it boils down to the things that are pretty important, but still mostly of secondary values like improving players mentality, keeping and moving out right players, actually caring about the club, having some kind of a long term plan...

But, 18 months here it is the actual performances which should be the most important thing upon which he will be judged. We look absolutely disjointed and don't play as a team. New players actually look worse, not better as the time pass by, when it should be the opposite. You don't need another 100 million to look better than this.

Early in the season, but has to improve.

Have to say I'm pretty worried. I don't think that's kneejerk - we played some good stuff last season when Bruno came in, but at some point we started to play like shit and that has continued into the new season. Tiredness was the excuse given then, but it doesn't wash now. It's been many games since we last put in a genuinely good team performance. For whatever reason they aren't gelling and a lot of players are making obvious, significant mistakes

Everybody saying we're kneejerkers; some of us have been advocating consistently to get rid of this fraud since the end of his first season. We've not done so and been rewarded with Maguire, AWB, DVB, Bruno, and Daniel fecking James for a cost of north of 200M. Not to mention a tactical masterclass every time we step on the pitch, and awesome in game management every week.

nobody is unhappy we won. We just know these type of performances will lead to shit results which if you take ole's entire reign is what has been produced barring about 5/6 games after psg and 5/6 games after bruno. All the Ole in posters ask yourself this why do all our rival fans want us to keep ole? Are they secret mourinho fans? They all think he is shit too.

If we divide the 93 games Ole has managed us, in first 46 and last 47, he has got a win percentage of 59,5% in his second period. That is the same as Sir Alex. Progress.
In his last 28 games, he has only lost 3, and has got a win % of 67,8. Progress.

Yes we are in poor form. I think an already short preseason, cut even shorter by Europa League is a fair excuse. Lets give him a couple of more games to get the team back in shape before we sack him, no?
Pretty much the only good post in here.

It didn't cost us directly but him starting lindelof after all the shitshow and bigging up Bailly yesterday is on the same level as Jose sticking with Matic and Lukaku when they were having a bad run

I find myself not respecting him as much after this game..
But Lindelof was totally ok today. Ole has a CB pair that worked well over the whole season, he is not going to change that after 2 poor games. Also, with all his injuries it probably not very tempting to build a long term CB pair with Bailly, and not smart tin play him twice in four days.

We already gonna have a tough season as it stands and if we dropped further points today he'd be in bigger trouble. I can't see him getting top 4 with this disastrous window.

Agree with is! It looked bad today, again, just like Palace and Luton, but let’s give them a few games before we can evaluate.

How come we are the only team that needs to get match fit?

We're one of the few who didn't get a pre-season. Did you watch Man City last time? They fell apart in the second half, looked nackered and could have lost or drawn that game on another day.
They were also playing one of the other teams who didn't get a pre-season.

Hold fire until the players are match fit is all I'm saying. If we're playing gash and going nowhere after 10 games then fair enough.

I just think that there are so many people invested in him failing that they jump the gun and are all over anything negative.

Think the ceiling on his coaching talent and managerial ability is really low but also that as a transitional figure he has put us on the right track. Heck if he gets us Sancho before bowing out maybe it would be worth a dud season. Say this because I don't actually think x amount of marquee signings can turn this pumpkin into a carriage. Pep and Klopp have blown the doors off what it takes. Squad building and tactical competence are now both a minimum for winning the league. Even Fergie didn't face managerial competition this stiff. It says a lot when even his biggest supporters are talking about waiting for Klopp to leave england

Brave of you trying to bring perspective and reason in the thread where people gather to vent

He is not tactically a good coach but today he made some smart subs. But as a manager your job doesn't end there. Instead of just sitting and watching the game on the monitor he should have ordered awb to man mark march.

I genuinely have no idea how some of you are still able to have a decent conversation with Ole outers. I gave up quite a while ago, after we finished 3rd (I think), as it's obvious that they have an agenda

Some blame has to go to his staff as well. Was the same thing people criticised Phelan for even when he was with SAF. It seemed like scapegoating at the time but is quickly starting to seem like he truly offers nothing substantial in terms of game management. How does he not bring it to Ole's attention to shore up the right side that was blatantly leaking countless opportunities before we conceded. Ole doesn't have to be a coaching or tactical genius if he fills his staff with people who are good at it and so far it doesn't look like he has.

Edit now that i think of it, maybe he wasnt in the stands today. Didnt actually see him once

This has shades of the "we are getting relegated" threads we've seen last year. People never learn.

What is Ole's style of play?

He relies far too much on individual brilliance. He deserves backing because we got third place last season, however we were massively helped by teams around us going out of form and Bruno's arrival. Very worrying signs at the start of this season. We look like United pre-Bruno.

No, it has shades of, we'll win games under him, but we will never truly challenge for the top honours, ever, so in essence whats the point? It's just wasting everybody's time.

Give it 10 games before we even begin this discussion. At the moment people look like right nobs for bringing this up.

I bet you all open the microwave every 10 seconds to see if your microwave meal for one is warm enough yet also.

I'm not Ole out - at all - despite the obviously lacklustre start to the season, but this is a good observation.
It's why the poll options are idiotic. Where are the nuanced conditional options? We have to either want him long term or want him sacked today?

Hasn't really been a problem for Wolves or Man City.
City bosses it for 45 minutes but both fell away big time in the second half. There’s a reason it’s raining goals in the PL at the moment and I’ll let you in on something...

Not every manager can be shit and not every defence can be inept.

So perhaps, just perhaps, teams aren’t match fit yet.
