So? Every day you can say this or that record is broken. In a good and bad way.
League One manager? Intresting. How is it highlighten that? Tell us.

I would say it is pretty unbelieveble how some of our fans have so much hatered in them that they will have a go at our manager after a game (1-1) where we are better, away from home, against one team that is inform and only 2-3 points behind us. Seriously, real football has nothing to do with Football Manager or FIFA2020.

The feck is this I'm reading?!

We‘ve lost on our own turf to Burnley mate, Liverpool just got battered to 2nd bottom. Everyone loses.

Most naturals would say Leicester had a better squad at the start of the season and for large parts of the season looked better and more consistent than City.
Don't be ridiculous. We were the 5th favourites to win the title, Leicester were 10th and were 66/1 to get relegated. We were 2,500 to 1. Nobody thought they were remotely as good as us.

Ole should be replaced but not on today's result alone. Today was a good result in getting a point at Everton. Is Ancelotti a better manager? Of course he is going by his record.

Good on you to keep a fair view despite your feelings on him. Draw away vs the current Everton is not a bad result.

Absolutely, no problem with the result today.

My problem lies with people making out pure lies like that any bookie had Leicester as a top 4 favourite or utter nonsense claims like "Leicester have a better squad than us". They clearly don't and the wheels are coming off there.

Why does anyone feel they have to peddle utter nonsense to defend the manager after an acceptable enough result?

From a top 4 discussion 28th July:
Unfortunately there are 6 teams that can say the same thing and 3 others (Wolves, Leicester, Everton) with a similar quality to our best 11 who won't be far behind.
Leicester have over performed like Liverpool (no one expected them to be 22 points clear) but most bookies had us around 4th/5th which is basically where we are.

Personally i think we are pretty even with Leicester.

Defense, we might be slightly better, but not by a whole lot
They have a better midfield (Bruno and Pogba aside, but the former just arrived and the latter is apparently dead)
Attack, unpopular opinion maybe, but Vardy is better than anything we got, but we beat them in the other positions

Shit game though

I want Ole to succeed at United. I want him to succeed NOW. We simply cannot wait that long. The more experience he gets of course he will get better. If he gets a quality number two and if he listens to him he will get much better too.
My view is that he has a set opinion on how to play and that is not good enough to beat top managers. He also to me doesn't know how to manage during the game. Yes it could be Phelan and the coaches are not good enough too.
But the buck stops with the manager. He needs to get the corners varied too. I really don't know why he can't do those things?

Extended the run to 8 unbeaten, 19-2 in goals. Point won from a difficult away game, against a team who have not lost at home since november.

Scandal. Lets sack the bastard!

That's the PL title odds, not the top four odds. They are different believe it or not.

I remember seeing the odds myself way back at the start of the season because I planned to place a bet. Leicester were right up the top.

 That's the funniest thing I've read.

So the bookies have Leicester at 200/1 and United at 25/1 to win the league, but the same bookies think Leicester will finish above United?

Put the spliff down man.

It's not about hatred, it's about not wanting to hold on to mediocre managers just like we don't want to hold on to mediocre players. If Ole wasn't an ex-player legend he would never have been anywhere near the job.

How is my personal view relevant to this debate when I clearly stated "bookie" or bookies (plural).

Go ahead and explain that.

So you weren't expecting Leicester to be anywhere around and even expected us to be second but now it's ok to say they have far better squad than us and were expected to be top 4. Honestly doesn't make any kind of sense. And my point is still on, no one on this forum expected them to be 3rd by this time, so saying they were clearly favorite for 3rd is nonsense and narrative twisting.

Should be renamed Random Bollocks

He made fun of my Redcafe handle.

That's not fair.

If that's the funniest thing you've read, mate, try sticking a feather duster up your backside.

You'll be laughing 'til the cows come home!

We had them for 70% of the game, and we got a point. They haven't lost at home since november last year. After Ancelotti took over, they are the 3 best team in the league. I was OK with a point before the game, and i'm fine with it now. And the 30% of the game Everton was the best team, they played really, really well. Give them some credit.
Are you saying Ancelotti improved the team in a few months without any signings, what sorcery is this?

He should be replaced at the end of the season regardless of how he finishes the season. He's a very limited manager and there's not much more to it. Better candidates are available and we should go for one of them.

That was a great game of football. End to end stuff.

How you're not entertained?

Honestly, I couldn't give a flying feck about Leicester and that's the truth. I don't even know why we're having this debate.

What do you want, a medal?

That's not how I remember it but whatever.

I think the mods should lock this thread as I don't see the point anymore. A few months ago it was a legitimate question, now it's a silly question because we are in the race for top 4.

No-one on the forum expected Leicester to be top 4, not even the Leicester fans. And the bookies had them around 9th-10th for the league and around 9th favourite to make top 4.

Leicester have taken just 18 points from their last 14 games (50% of their season)

Yet the narrative "they have a better squad" continues.

I don't either tbh. I was talking to someone else and you were the one who told me everyone predicted them to be top 4, which I'm sure wasn't true. Back to the point with the current set of players I firmly believe with a better system we should be ahead of Leicester and Chelsea. Top 4 race is pretty weak this season and Chelsea have been wasting points left, right and center.

What do you want, a medal?

People to stop talking absolute downright nonsense and lies.

A point at Everton away is an ok result. Leicester have neither a better squad nor team than United, they've just been overachieving whilst United have been underachieving.

Pretending bookies or in fact, anyone, had Leicester down to have a better season than us, or as another poster claimed today that last April (with Leicester in 10th and us in 6th) that everyone knew Leicester's squad was "streets ahead" of ours. None of this nonsense helps the debate, just makes it ridiculous and makes anyone backing Ole sound like a stark raving lunatic.

They are posters that back up the manager without sounding like they just logged in from Nutterville.

There is a huge difference between telling a lie and being mistaken. No? Yes? Good. Moving on.

Firstly, your view on United beginning the season with a better squad than Leicester is entirely subjective. Stop trying to pass your opinions off as facts.

The arrogance coming from this post is astounding. What gives you the right to question another posters mental capacity because they choose to show faith in their current manager? Are you off your meds or are you just a little upset? I honestly don't know the difference.

Wow, you just tried to make out it was a fact that every bookie on the planet had Leicester as top 4 favourites and then you post this? The delusion here.

The bookies having United are big favourites over Leicester a the beginning of the season is exactly why my post ISN'T entirely subjective.

@Regulus Arcturus Black

Are you going to call the men in white coats for this guy or would you like me to do it?

I think he's right @Random Task

I've said plenty that this thread should be on page 25 of the forum, but after every single half decent result someone pops up banging about "I told you so, I told you so", and then in turn a "meh" result means posters on the other side feel the need to respond.

I wish the thread would fecking die until 31st May.

I subjectively think Sheffield United have as good a squad as us. Otherwise we wouldn't be seperated by a few points.

We were good in the first half (De Gea howler aside), but the second half was poor stuff from us.

Maybe the game on Thursday was taking its toll, but we completely lacked intensity and fight in the second half. We got outfought in every aspect, which is something that has nagged me all season.

One thing is poor quality, but (seemingly) poor effort is not fecking acceptable when playing for a top club

Had Sir Alex taken OIe's approach to making subs then Ole would've been a footnote in United history. He'd have only ever got 5 minutes at a time.
