LVG, a multiple league winning, internationally experienced manager, who won the FA Cup with us was let go.

JM, one of the most successful managers in the history of the game, who won the League Cup and Europa League with us was let go.

OGS, who has done nothing in the English game as a manager and who continues to produce drab, boring, un-Utd football, has the backing of both the board and the fans?

World has gone bonkers.

We had a manager actively trying to get the sack, I'm not sure that's a good defence for Ole

Someone needed to clean up that.

I don't see how people acknowledge how bad that was but dismiss the job involved in doing it. Even after the players that have left theres still lots of deadwood here which was always going to take a couple of windows to do a proper meaningful turnover

He’s tactically weak. All we can do is counter, so are easily beatable against those outside top 6. It’s sad how predictable we are, but also how Ole just can’t change it up.

Things are getting worse. Ole isn’t the man for the long run.

What I find quite amazing & really worrying is virtually half the fan base on here want to keep him.

I was a bit surprised reading your post as our form prior to this match was pretty ok so no idea why you didn't even bother watching the game.

Then I looked at your name

What, for two whole games...really.

I'll admit to having flip flopped on whether Ole should get the sack. But I'm going to remain in the sack camp until we regularly get performances of the Spurs/City kind against teams fighting relegation. There must be managers out there that would come to Utd and be able to do this. We've become one of the things many on here hate - a game raising cnut of a team.

Nah, a lot of those are opposition fans and posters who voted to keep him ages ago but never bothered to change the vote. If you go by actual posts on here it's probably more like 75/25.

If OGS was going to make me think of changing from sack to keep, he had to beat Everton and Watford after beating Spurs and City. I’d love nothing more for him to be a regen of Sir Alex like some fans seem to think will happen if you just give him three years.

But I’m also realistic. We are a HUGE club and the standards we have set for ourselves, bearing in my mind our resources, means we should be winning most of our games and Champions League qualification is the absolute bare minimum.

I am not seeing evolution or progression from OGS. Based on his year here, it’s pretty obvious how to stump his team. Sit back and let his team play. They just can’t create a lot of the time. Two thirds of league opposition will do this against us. We could beat all the teams who are Champions League place sitters but it’s pointless if we’re going to just drop points against the entire bottom half of the league. Errors like DDG today will always happen but it shouldn’t absolve OGS of making his Utd team look hopeless in games.

We could another game like this tomorrow except this time Maguire miskicks the ball when attempting to clear it and it ends up being an own goal. Meanwhile throughout this hypothetical game we barely trouble the opposition defence, let alone goalie and some people will still say “OGS didn’t kick the ball! We’d have won if that didn’t happen!” as the stats flash up with one shot on target and 60% possession for Utd.

We will be lucky to scrape 50 pts this season.

As opposed to heralding him as the best thing since sliced bread because he jammed two big game wins?

I’m Ole out and have been consistent all along with that

Anyone with a functioning brain can see he’s not good enough

Yup these people we saying Liverpool were going to beat us 0-5, Spurs batter us, same with City etc
They are clueless just as the people they claiming to be like and actually were disappointed when we didn't lose those games

Still bitchy about the sack  ?

I don't think you're even an Utd fan, rather a Jose fan tbh. No fan could not have some hope after us beating Spurs and City and stop watching imho.
Mods can you look at this please?no need for this rubbish in my opinion.
I run out of quota so have to reply you here.

You're calling for the mods and called my post rubbish but give no rational or logical explanation why you've decided to stop watching Utd ?

I have no idea what you’re going on about. It’s clear as day Ole isn’t up to it. I’m astonished there is even a debate around this. We are 8th at the halfway stage and dropping like a stone.

Finally changed my vote to sack. Feel he needed time to at least Christmas to prove himself but here we are. I would have liked to see some consistency but I don’t think this is going to improve. Yes there have been injuries but we shouldn’t be losing 2-0 to Watford.

Time to give Pochettino a shot. I really do feel like this is our level now. Very depressing.

The thing I really don’t understand is how we can beat City and Spurs and then revert to being that bad. I get we are a counterattacking team but it’ was our level of urgency in those games was so much higher. Crisp passing, one twos, movement off the ball, pressing.

I knew within the first 15 minutes we would be in trouble. Maguire and Lindelof casually passing sideways and walking with the ball. Shaw basically gave Deeney a chance on a plate with a terrible pass. McTominay must have given the ball 5 times in the first half. Individual errors like that didn’t happen against City and Spurs so why allow it to happen agains the worst team in the league?

If Ole gets the sack we won’t suddenly become a good team. The quality of that squad is shite. We are short in many areas. We are relying on youngsters up front who have never been prolific. Pogba has been injured for 3 months. Without him our midfield is one of the worse in the league. And then we have supposedly one of the best keepers in the world that consistently makes individual errors costing us points.

The club needs to do a City and get all the players in, in one summer. Buying 3 players a summer simply isn’t enough. Woodward can say what he likes but it’s certainly possible if we stop being so focused on one player for each position. We need 3 player now just to make up the numbers. Next season Matic will be gone, surely we can’t extend Young’s contract again, And that’s before the possibility of Pogba leaving. So again 3 players gone. And most would want to get rid of Rojo, Jones, Lingard, Peirera and Mata as well.

I think we need to bring in a tactical coach or something to help him. The coaching team is far too inexperienced. Phelan seems marginalised and even in the glory days I don’t think he was ever the tactical one. I think continuity is important and ole has a lot of positives as well as obvious flaws. Bringing in a tactical coach to help that side and game management rather than just watching Carrick bite his finger nails and McKenna is as inexperienced as ole

He’s not incompetent. There is a progress. It just takes time.

LVG won the FA Cup, wasn't given any time.

JM won the League Cup and Europa League, finished 2nd in the Prem (highest finish since SAF left), yet wasn't given any time.

Hell, even Moyes was signed to a 5 year contract and given less that 12 months.

And yet somehow Ole needs to be given time? This board has just become ridiculous.

What on Earth makes you think he will turn it around?

Would you be saying the same if andy Hessenthaler was the manager? No of course you wouldn’t as despite being shit, Ole gets a free pass as he’s a club legend.

When Martial finally came back the front 3 did not look toothless anymore.
Beating mid/bottom table clubs that sit back requires a creative player to unlock them, something we have lacked for 90% of the season. Pogba is back, surely people can wait a few games to see how the team develops with him in there given the effect Martial had when he returned...

Thank goodness the vote isn't visible to non-members. It's embarrassing that nearly half the people in here want him out.
Really? What's todays excuse? If we can't beat the bottom of the league team then surely questions must be asked, no?

If Ole wasn't a legend, he wouldn't get so much credit in the bank. Nothing suggests Ole has helped us. If you look at our form at the end of last season and this...nothing has changed. Sad but it's the truth.

The same fools that say sack him all the time, tell everyone how we will get battered anytime we play a top team.

The problems are so deep rooted basically this once great club are a total mess from top to bottom. AC Milan are the same in Italy.

If Pep or Klopp were given this group of players and had to work under a clueless owners and Woodward for the next 5 months united would still struggle to finish 4th. I'm really fearing the hectic schedule in January and I'll be shocked after it if United aren't out of the league cup, FA Cup and chances of top 4 gone. Sorry for been so negative but it's the reality of the situation we are about to face.

It’s a good job he manages to jam the odd win against the top sides otherwise we would be in the relegation zone

We get points in those matches because we are now a small time side who play on the counter against those teams

He’s not incompetent. There is a progress. It just takes time.

Progress with what exactly?

Do we have a better squad this season? No

Do we have more points than last season? No

Do we play better football than last season? No

Has the 3 signings that Ole made improved us? Questionable.

No other club the size of Manchester United would accept being 8th in the league when spending £150m in the transfer window yet again. We consistently spend more than every other club in the league except City yet we are no where near the top 4 let alone the title.

If I saw progress I would allow him more time but when we can only beat teams on the counter that simply isn’t good enough.

If Pep or Klopp were given this group of players and had to work under a clueless owners and Woodward for the next 5 months united would still struggle to finish 4th.

This is true, but then come the summer there would be a long line of players looking to join a Klopp or a Pep-led project, Champions League or not.

There are no good footballers out there looking at Ole's United and thinking "sign me up for this!".

I doubt anyone expects any manager to come in and make us challengers overnight.

I expect a semblance of a plan from a new manager. An actual style of football. An idea of how to break teams down. A defensive shape that allows us to actually defendand a manager that doesn’t completely and utterly ignore the very obvious holes in our squad.
The things you mention are all a bit vague and quite useless unless we’re winning games. Anyone who comes in has to win games consistently over a long period that’s the bottom line. I don’t think changing manager will achieve that any quicker than sticking with Ole.

Odd win? he's unbeaten again the top 6 this season.
When you play teams that just sit back against you, you need a creative player (Pogba). We have not had that for 90% of the season. But it doesn't suprise me people skip over this fact, they generally have fixed mindsets when analysing anything. Hence the get battered by any top team comments

Just read a stat that since Ole’s permanent contract he has only won 7% of games where we haven’t been awarded a penalty! Wow!
Was an interesting post match press conference where the journalists went really hard on him!

Yeah, it’s all just bad luck that he has one of our worst ever points totals after 18 matches. Absolutely delusional.

Yeah I think I'm done with the idea of us progressing under Old. I love him as much as the next guy, and I admire what he's trying to do, but he's not got a clue of how to break deep sitting teams down.

If Poch wants the job, then go get him, as he's proven he can build a coherant team, and develop young players.

it would be a start to have somekind of plan when it comes to attacking. We have no plan. Nothing. I don’t know how you can say that’s vague and useless unless we’re winning. We aren’t going to win without a plan for attacking teams.

If you think one creative player will solve anything you’re deluded! The attitude, desire and overall quality was well below standard today

Yet you only have to look at our club, a year ago, to see how results can improve instantly under a new manager. New manager bounce exists.

Why didn’t he buy one in the summer?
