Loads of people, maybe not the phrase "world class" is thrown around that much, but us having a great squad and Ole under performing with them is THE stick people use to bash him with. If his signings have been "meh" or average than by extension the squad as a whole must be pretty average as well
For the sake of comparison, these numbers are from last season
| Maguire | Lindelof |
Blocks | 22 | 16 |
Interceptions | 72 | 26 |
Tackles | 37 | 29 |
Successful tackles | 23 | 15 |
Clearances | 157 | 122 |
Headed clearances | 94 | 58 |
Aerial battles won | 176 | 96 |
| AWB (35 apps) | Shaw (24 apps) |
Assists | 4 | 0 |
Blocks | 13 | 6 |
Interceptions | 66 | 24 |
Tackles | 129 | 34 |
Successful tackles | 80 | 18 |
Clearances | 58 | 51 |
Headed clearances | 26 | 30 |
I dont think i need to bring up Bruno's stats, they speak for themselves. Maguire is the best CB at the club, AWB is the best fullback and Bruno is no contest the best player. James is shit, but he was cheap.
So if the signings were "meh", then it means the quality of the other players are worse than "meh" and "meh" quality players dont win you anything
