The thread title and poll question is based on discussion in the Sadio Mane thread that has been split into this thread to avoid the other thread going off track.

For the full context behind the question, read below for the discussion brought up by "the unknown one."

It's not like that. I wouldn't mind it if he missed a few games and Liverpool dropped points. I just don't want him to get injured for months on end because he's an exciting player who would liven games up.

I don't watch Liverpool to be entertained by them playing good football.

I want them to lose every game and if their better players are injured the more chance they are going to lose.

Its that simple.

Who cares if Liverpool drop points due to injury/injuries. It's our job to finish first and as long as we do that I couldn't care less what happens behind us.

I loathe Liverpool as much as I love United mate.

Would give me more pleasure to see them relegated than us win the league to be honest.

Each to their own. My love for United is definitely bigger than any dislike I have for a rival team. Do you get the same amount of joy watching Liverpool lose as you do by watching us win?

That's bizarre to me. I want Liverpool to win more than I want anything relating to one of our rivals.

Are you sure you meant to post that because it seems like an odd thing to say?

To be fair, Liverpool getting relegated would be much, much bigger news in football than United winning the league... but that mentality is ridiculous. I didn't think United fans were like that to be honest, all my United supporting mates love the hate we get from other clubs and don't really give a shit back.

@the unknown one. above post - it was great but one of my best memories? Piss off. Stop being so bitter.

Yes when Gerrard slipped was one of my best memories watching football.
That's a bit sad mate. I found it hilarious, and it still makes me laugh now. But it's not up there with Moscow, or no. 20, or any of United's triumphs.

No need to get so angry mate.

it's an overused phrase on here, but that is incredibly small time of you

I am thinking perfectly rationally mate, no need to get so agitated.

I am not agitated mate - I expect you to cheer when Stevie slipped - but one of your greatest moments. Sorry doesn't make sense.

Anyway Sadio Mane....

Seems weird to want a rival club to be relegated. Football is nothing without rivalries, and if Liverpool got binned in to the Championship, following seasons until they were back would be a little unexciting.

It was funny when Leeds went down, but it stopped being funny pretty quickly, and at the time I remember a great deal of United fans wanting them back. That was a fiery fixture.

I didn't think disliking Liverpool would be so uncommon on a Manchester United forum.

You guys take everything very seriously indeed, particularly the resident scouse.

I dislike Liverpool with a passion but personally don’t consider sports serious enough to wish an injury to a football player, hoping someone to get hurt. Hating Liverpool more than loving United is a strange concept to me, as well. Shouldn’t waste your time on hatred, sounds like a miserable life.

I'd love it if they went down for a season, but if they were out of the Premier League for a long time it would be pretty shit.

No I did not the scenarios presented where not in line with my original statement.

I would prefer us 2nd and Liverpool last then us 1st and them second.

Is that so outlandish?
Honestly? Yes. There's nothing better than winning the league when your main rival ends up second.

Yes of course it is. Why do you even support United? You may aswell just watch Liverpool and support their opponent each game.

I did not wish injury on anyone that was another poster.

A dislike is not unusual of course and as a rival poster you need a thick skin to be on here.
But your suggestion came across as you would sacrifice United's success for Liverpool's failure - or prefer the latter which is just odd.

I have been lucky (or in many people's eyes on here - unlucky), to be a Liverpool season ticket holder for over 25 years, and seen thankfully some great times - I wouldn't swap one of them in exchange for ANY United failure.

I think it has also been made clear by a higher authority than me or you that wishing injuries on players isn't acceptable behaviour on here - rightly so.
