Face it, tournaments like this are all about the goaltending. Therefore Canada wins with Brodeur.

Lookie there...USA in the semis, Russia and Sweden going home. Who'd a thunk it?

Tkachuck was great tonight and so was Modano, still the best skater around (and at age 34).

fecking shit team Sweden are. The team consists of top bottlers in Henry class

You guys have tons of talent, and yet little to show for it.

Christ, you have blown two tourneys in a row when you should have won both...

You could have some lean years in the future giving the age of your stars (same with the U.S. mind you).

Probably never will have a team as good again with the same amount of talent that this had. And we have no new and upcoming stars so we will have to wait here a while in Sweden until our hockey gets good again

Zetterberg is great, and hopefully you can get the Sedin twins to play to their potential. Still, that is nothing like Sundin, Naslund, Forsberg and Lidstrom. You are still blessed to have some excellent defensemen that aren't that old and have yet to reach their primes--namely Ohlund and Kim Johnnson.

From what I have read, you have a lot of good young players in the '85, '86, '87 Age brackets, but that is still a long way off :D

Either way, enjoy your time in the dumps ;). I just hope for your sake Finland doesn't do too well during that time.

Zetterberg and the Sedin twins are hitting 25 soon and aren't exactly superstars and we got some decent young defenders but there isn't alot more than that. The 85-87 age bracket aren't that great, hopefully the new generation born after 90 will come good :(

I guess you will be stuck supporting the Finn's in the Medal Rounds ;)

Finland to take on the yanks tonight..

Easy win me thinks, humiliation of yanks to be expected..

Yeah, the team that barely survived the onslaught from the great German ice machine. Where as the US defeated arguably the 2nd best nation in the tournament, Russia. Finland can win, but I ain't calling it that way.

USA 3, Finland 1 (can anyone stop the Modano-Tkachuck-Guerin line?)

This line is mediocre at best. Will not cause much problem...

Stick to football, you apparently don't know much about hockey.

Modano - arguably the best two way forward in hockey; the best skater
Tkachuk - great power forward; gritty; very physical
Gueirn - see Tkachuk

In 4 games, this line has combined for 7 goals, 9 assists, and a +15. Tkachuk put 4 goals past Russia. A line averaging 4 points per game collectively is great.

Finland needs the Koivu, Lehtinen, and Selanne line to come up big against the US (5 goals, 5 assists, +5 in 4 games). I like Lehtinen and Kapanen, Dallas Stars payers. The D must stop the MTG line, which is the main scoring line for the US.

Modano-Tkachuk-Guerin...Mediocre at best...yeah right.

Go USA!

I couldn't stand the general partying that would happen if Finland were to win the lot.

Well hell, if we can't win it, at least don't let the Canucks win it all.

Good luck Finland--and congrats. You lot are incredibly good.

now i'm a bit worry... perhaps no Martin Brodeur for Canada in goal.... oh please... don't let Jose go out there... pat, please not!!!

One game means that Modano-Tkachuk-Guerin is mediocre. I suppose that means Ruud is shit after a match where he doesn't score. I believe I pointed out that Finland must shut down that line and they did. Think the coaches might have stressed that? :smirk:

Anyways, congrats to Finland. Good luck against Canada, if Brodeur doesn't play or does play but shows signs of that injury, Finland might just pull it off.

God damn, stuck in this underdeveloped country where they do not watch hockey. fecking impossible to find a bar with it, atleast you were able to watch hockey in Mexico which is even more south. But feck, here not. ESPN2 is showing it, but can not find a bar with it.

So now I am probably going to miss the humiliation of these Canadian twats
