I'm not a huge fan of Woody and pin much of the failings of last seasons transfer business on him, however he hasn't really said we're going to sign more players has he? All he has said is we're in a strong financial position and CAN sign anybody we want.
Real benefited from the 'biggest club in the world, any player is honoured to play for Real Madrid' stuff because they backed it up with big signings. When you don't, it just sounds like stupid bluster.
If big players are to be signed it will have to happen very soon. Clubs won't sell those players unless they have time to replace them.
I'd fully expect 2-3 players in before the window closes. Think a centre mid a centre half and a right back.

It is one thing when we need more quality in the engine room, we need numbers at the back, because we are so short on defenders its a joke. We need 3 defenders really. If we have something up our sleeve then fair enough but we've let 3 go and don't look close to signing one at the moment. August is going to be absolutely crucial. If we don't get the right players in then we will struggle to make top 4, simple as that.

This guy is fairly useless at transfers. 3 weeks before the season starts we have 1 competent midfielder and a shocking defense. Good thing he fired Moyes otherwise we'd be set for a bottom 10 finish with our current squad. The LVG appointment will cover a lot of our shortcomings. A top 4 finish might just be out of reach this coming season.
I'm not a fan of Woodward but let's wait until the transfer window finish's. We will bring in more players, patience is needed. The clown has raised expectation, the MUTV interview was a mistake and badly timed imo. Hopefully LVG will put the pressure on him now. We have a fantastic manager now. It could be worse, Moyes could be here buying away and still playing rubbish football. I'm excited about this season, it shouldn't be all doom and gloom. We will be much better next year. Herrera looks quality and Mata may finally be used properly under LVG. Let's just wait and see. The caf is just frustrated about the Vidal deal. I'm as big a transfer muppet as you're likely to see but at least I have a bit of patience. It's barely over a week since Woodward did that interview, Van Gaal has his 3rd pre season game to get a look at his players and will be much closer to knowing what he needs.

I just don't have any faith in the owners... They consistently fail to deliver despite some of the idiotic defence of them.
£100mil+ on new transfers between now and September will certainly help...
I am not one to ever defend the Glazers but I believe that gills and especially SAF's reluctance to spend big especially in the latter years of their tenure is one of the primary factors that has led to the predicament we are in today.
