With Antony signed what’s our front 3?

Mine certainly was. The effect that Ole had by sending out Rashford while crocked are still being felt, I think.
 
I'd also put Martial as the starting CF. I don't know if people expect us to put Harry Kane up there. Having to pick from the options at the club and there isn't exactly a deep pool there.
 
Rashford will start....With Casemiro seemingly displacing Mctominay, Rashford will be the only academy player left in the starting 11, the club will not drop the 85 year record of starting an academy player in every game.

Think that record is about having academy player in first 11 OR on the bench. Record about not having an academy player in first 11 was dropped like 12-13-14 years ago under Fergie.

I forgot about the academy influence on line ups but seeing replies it’s about bench as well…


I think Sancho, Martial, Anthony would be the preferred line up but Ten Hag will keep competition high between all four including Rashford anyway….

The premier league has never been this demanding as it is now..

Because he's the only decent CF when fit/mentally up for it.

Rashford cannot play there and Ronaldo is lazy and past it.

Ideally we get a proper CF in, because the alternatives are meh.

That tradition is now gone I think, I think it’s including on the bench so Rashford can be on the bench to keep it going or other academy players we have…

ETH seems to give no feck about things like that. Literally just bought a player for all the positions we freshly invested in. A tinfoiler might even think he was targeting all the national homegrowns. It's now on merit, no one is getting picked by geography or tradition gimmick

Either way I'm really happy we have a decent midfield now and on paper that is a really good team. Bruno just needs to compose himself in advanced positions. Would be an infinitely better player if he just does the basics and stops treating the ball like a hot potatoe.
 
Sancho is a better player than Rashford and hence he has to play on the left with Martial as CF and Anthony on the right.
 
1. Antony - Goat - Sancho
2. Antony - Glass Knees - Sancho

rashford to backup any 4 of the above.

which is why I’ve always believe we are a striker short of proper service.

If we had a big CF to hold up the ball both Sancho and Antony could benefit. He is skillful and will send over great crosses but we need a proper CF to get on the end of these crosses. Haller scored from these crosses and also held up the ball for Antony to score goals.
 
First XI: Sancho - Ronaldo - Antony

Backup: Rashford - Martial - Elanga

I am still hopeful that we might replace Ronaldo this summer with someone who can both run and score (and who also actually wants to play for the club).
 
If he stays, I don't see Ronaldo remaining on the bench. Making it Sancho, Ronaldo and Antony.

To he honest though Sancho's spot should be under pressure.
 
I’d go sancho, martial (if fit) Antony…. If Martials not available then has to be ronaldo… we need someone upfront who can hold the ball up and bring others into play. Also Ronaldo gives us an option to cross into the box… Antony has a really good delivery so ronaldo will relish getting on the end of them.
 
Sancho isn't very impressive on the left. Needs to do a lot more from that position to get ahead of Rashford in my book. We need to play with a higher tempo and so Sancho for me fits in on the right or on the bench unless he takes his intensity up a level.
 
It's funny seeing Ronaldo in these lineups when he's clearly not Ten Hag's preferred choice

And when is that? Which is my point. We cannot, and should not, count on him. I'd love to, but he's had more lives than Tom.

We desperately need a number 9 replacement. Easier said than done of course.
 
I don’t think an extra striker/attacker will arrive and if I’m wrong then it means Garnacho can forget about a career here.
 
Anyone concerned that the front 3 combinations people are mentioning lacks a goal scorer. Especially if Ronaldo goes. Martial can’t be relied on in my opinion.
 
I find it interesting they are rumored to be chasing Dest now vs going after a striker. Must mean that the plan is keeping Ronaldo around. It would be nice to see him settle in with this manager and just do what he has to do in order to get playing time. Have to think he develops a nice feel with Antony rather quickly if things go that route.
 
Assuming Ronaldo leaves, i'd rather have Rashford at CF than Martial. Martial just doesnt have, and never will have, the passion and drive needed for this team.

Maybe not but I know he got more talent in his left foot than Rashford got in his whole body.

Itl end up Ronaldo through the middle if we don't sell him. He's still better than the other 2 options.

In games we play on the counter, Sancho Martial/Rashford Antony.

In games we expect to have most of the ball, I would put Ronaldo as our CF.

Agreed. If the rest of the team is starting to look like a functioning unit that can keep the ball and create chances then we've got to make use of someone who can reliably stick those chances away.

Pretty much. It seems we as a club really underrate this skill. It's vital you have players who are strong under pressure to compete at the top.

If all are fit, it is definitely going to be our SAM Machine - Sancho, Antony, Martial
Ronaldo can provide cover for Martial who tend to have injury issue
Rashford, Elanga and Garnacho will provide cover for both wings and they got to prove themselves that they deserved to be given the chance.
