We’ve a fair amount of choice. Some mightn’t be your cup of tea, but now you can just pick someone else, which wasn’t quite possible the last couple of seasons.

Who goes into your very best United xi from this squad?

That first team mentioned there would probably be mine too at the moment with the exception of keeper - I can’t stand Onana - I think he’s abysmal, I’d honestly pick Bayindir or Heaton before him but that’s just me!

Also interested in time when everyone is fit how much pressure Mazraoui can put on Dalot.

Rashford should be dropped but I just don’t think Amad is ready to be playing 30+ games this season. We need a LB because of Shaw’s unreliability but we’re desperate for goals that front 3 is years away from being a consistent source of goals. I think Garnacho and Hojlund have real potential but at this moment in time it’s not enough

Yeah I like the looks of mazraoui, realistically shaw is so unfit we will keep seeing both, but that said i do feel like dalot keeps improving. he's turning into a very good all round passer and more and more confident on the ball.

I think it's pretty 50/50 with Hojlund/Zirkzee and Rashford/Garna/Amad, while Mazraoui can rotate to get a very similar level in at full back. Importantly, Rashford suits Zirkzee better while Amad suits Hojlund better, while Garnacho is better on the right but also the most impactful one IMO. Obviously a lot of guys are way out of form or always injured. I'm sure Yoro will be rotating there pretty evenly, while Casemiro and Mount are weird ones right now as I can see them giving us better balance in the right system but depends on for who and under what system.

Don't think that team makes the top 5 in this league though. Squad is very lacking in attacking area.

Wouldn't have both Bruno and Rashford in one playing X1. It's tough enough to play with one luxury player. To play with both who find it beneath themselves for basic defensive duties won't make a team.
 
Ugarte-Casemiro at the base with Bruno as ACM would do for now, We can bring in Mason/Mainoo a bit later.

The midfield area is the problem area, and we probably need two next summer. I think Wharton, Ugarte, Mainoo could work, but the balance is totally off currently and options are limited.
 
Tried this and I still don’t like our squad. We've replaced loads of players and have still somehow ended up with a squad that doesn’t really work together. Midfielders who don’t complement each other, forwards who don’t score, a hodge podge of defenders, and a wank goalie.

Hopefully Ineos have a plan and this is the early stages of it and none of us can see the beautiful end product. I reckon we’re replacing half the current squad in a season or two, including half of the players we’ve brought in this summer.
 
Something to add under you best eleven, would be where you see that team finishing in the table.

Most of these line-ups look like a 4th at best kinda team.
 
What I want to see

Garnacho --- Zirkzee -- Amad

------Bruno ---------- Mainoo
---------------Ugarte--

I genuinely think that Bruno and Mainoo can work as CM controllers. And Zirkzee will be best forward. Defense is good, and midfield (imho) is pretty good also. But we may need to wait for a new manager that favor more game control.

The attack still look very weak, if we do want to start challenging for the League. Even with City's midfield, that attack would probably land them 3rd in the League.

Finally some sense. If we are to play the way ETH prefers, one of these two and preferably both cannot play.

Maguire vs Martinez is a close one, but based on what I've seen so far this season, I've gone with Maguire.
If Rashford returns to form (a big if) I would possibly play him ahead of Garnacho. Neither Rashford or Garnacho are effective on the RHS.
I would have Casemiro deputise for Mainoo to give him a rest from time to time.

3-4-3

Bruno and Rashford do not deserve to start. Simple as.

Amad Hojlund and Garnacho will carry the attacking load, assisted from time to time by Maz and Shaw.

Ugarte, Mainoo and the back 3 barely pass the halfway line and play close together.

Yoro over Martinez is a bold claim. We'd have to see Yoro play at least one game to have any idea if that claim holds up.

But the other bold claim is Bayandir over Onana. We've only see Bayandir once but he looked good enough to me to at least warrant ETH giving him some games. Onana has been given too long of a leash and at this point needs to be held accountable for his poor performances, especially with respect to shot stopping. And his distribution isn't anything special either.

Also weird how no one else wants to see Hojlund and Zirkzee play together in a 442/4411, the latter likes to drop deep and hpoefully give Hoj some service.

In terms of balance anyway. If this group is deployed properly with no suicidal tactics we should be a proper challenge for any team in the league. Enough defensive steel, technically capable players with workrate in addition to enough pace upfront. But we'll never see this team start a game. Bruno will always be in and I only left out Martinez because imo Yoro is much better equipped to defend the channels if we're going to play a fairly high line. When you look at it keenly we do have some quality in this team. It's up to the manager now.

Yoro I assume had a good season last year. We paid a lot for him and psg and real wanted him. Martinez was injured and when played quite dodgy (due to a lack of matches I hope and assume). Right now I would suggest he starts if fit based on recent form.

Agree with this. When you go through the players it isn't easy to see a coherent and balanced team. Big job to do
