Winter Olympics 2010 Vancouver

Feck. The Norway game is at stupid o'clock tomorrow morning then? Ah, well. *sets alarm*

I'm going to Sälen (spelling?) in Sweden this weekend. Is the cross country relay this weekend?

Would be nice to see that in a pub or something with some Swedes!

Women's is on Thursday, Men's on Friday. The mass starts are on Saturday and Sunday.

My as always optimistic predictions for tonight:

10000 meters Speed Skating: Bronze.

Nordic Combined team comp: Silver, the Yanks will take it.

Men's Giant Slalom: Bronze.

Women's Biathlon relay: Spectacular failure.

10000 meters Speed Skating: Silver - Bøkko paired with De Jong, will be interesting. Kramer to win easily.

Nordic Combined team comp: Silver

Men's Giant Slalom: Gold and Bronze (that's right!)

Women's Biathlon relay: I agree with the failure.

FAO Noggies, have you noticed in the Alpine events that the commentators more often than not can't tell how fast the athlete is going and gets caught out by the intermediate times. Especially if somebody starts slow they will pick out a lot of negatives and then they get surprised if the next intermediate time shows that he actually went a lot faster than they thought.

Disappointing run by Jansrud.

Decent first run, looked a bit hopeless there for a minute but dude is on fire.

Why am I not creaming myself with joy over the possibility of medals? Why am I looking at a moose?

Poor moose!

Or is it poor mise in plural? Mouse - mice, Moose - mise. Makes sense.

Aksel might just well win this, he is so cool when it matters. Disappointing from Jansrud, but he has a habit of good second runs.

And I agree with the commenting Caveman, it is a bit strange. Probably because of different styles etc. Fex a rugged Bode Miller or Hermann Maier style approach might look slow but be very fast, just as a silky smooth run might look fast but be slow.

The Swedish Alpine commentators are like that too. Guess it's part of the job;)

The only time I can remember SEEING that it was a fast run was Mancuso's silver run in the women's Downhill. She was just that much more aggressive than the ones that came before her.

'kin Espen Rian. Trailing the Finns by 23 secs after one jump. This will not end well.

42 secs behind the Yanks and Finns after two jumps. Todd Lodwick's tan is deeper than ever.

Haha, did anyone watch that thingy on nrk1? He donated maple syrup to charity. I'm sure the poor kids down in Bangladesh appreciated that gesture :)

A Swedish celeb gave a starving homeless poor kid in Haiti a Boss perfume....

Well done, Moan. 44 seconds off the Yanks after 3 jumps. Unless Tande fecks up the medal should be secure.

A great song and delicious syrup. If that's not enough for the little ingrates they can feck right off.
