Wimbledon 2016

Federer is amazing. Nearly 35 and still routinely competing to win slams.
Will count for nothing eventually :( His incredible level at his age really should have gotten him one extra. GS.

As long as Djoker doesn't win more GS than him, 17 is fine

Watching the Murray semi right now and I wonder why it's half empty?

People probably went out to eat, stretch their legs, go to the toilet - whatever. You can't go in while the match is being played. Only when the players are sitting down, every 3 games or so.

Cheers. I usually watch the final and that's obviously full but with Murray in the semi I thought smth had happened.
Just wakumed and it's fuller now.

Fed's probably a couple of slams short of where he should be despite his amazing record. That ridiculous forehand return by Djokovic match point down still pains to this day.

Murray looking quite comfortable now.

Match over here. Straight forward 3 setter before Sunday.

Happy Federer was knocked out too.

Good day at Wimbeldon.

Glad Murray looks to be going through.

Berdych only ever looked serious in 2010. Don't think I'd have even felt happy for him if he won Wimbledon this year unlike players such as Tsonga and Raonic.

What da hel happened to Berdych? Good to see Roanic finally made a final, tough one for Rog, but he is pushing 35, so can't be throwing up double faults willy nilly.

Roger sounds absolutely broken. Haven't seen him that gutted in years.
He probably realises this was likely his last shot at winning Wimbledon again, as Djokovic is already out. I do wish he could have won it, but for him to even get to a semi-final and take it to 5 sets at his age is amazing.

I just don't understand Berdych. against better players he should be able to play at least like Querrey did against Djokovic yet he almost never does that. he has size and strength yet they are rarely useful weapons in these encounters and it's actually incredible how often his loses his serve. he can't win long rallies because he just can't defend well given his size yet he avoids serve and volley most of the time. it's like he's messed up as a player, almost like he got his basics wrong. and with yesterday's loss, he set a world record with 115 losses against top 10 players. just weird.

Kerber with some nice shots but she just cant get a break point.

Edit: She finally gets one

I hope Kerber takes this set. Deserves a third set.

Serena just takes it when it matters. 2 points away from history

Greatest
Of
All
Time

What a Champion so happy for her, she deserves it

22 GS though. Kerber was fantastic and just couldnt get near Serenas serves. Serena adapted and learnt well from her last final.

Serena is clearly one of if not the greatest sportswoman of all time, I just wish I hadn't read that story about her getting beaten handily by a low-ranked guy, as I think it would seem a more impressive feat. Since then I've had almost no interest in female tennis, does that make me sexist? I honestly don't know nowadays.

Lots of people claiming now that she's the greatest. I would have expected that after surpassing Graffe rather than matching her.

Didn't that happen when she was just 16 years old?

I'm not a big fan of comparing players in different eras in any sport but; Serena is undoubtedly better.
Graf herself even admitted she thinks Serena will pass even Court's record of 24 Grand Slams.

The arbitrary number of Grand Slams doesn't make you a better player than the next, because the context has to be taken into consideration. People say Serena dominates women's tennis but Steffi stayed number 1 for over 370 weeks & the players she was playing against aren't near the level of female players Serena is currently up against. That's the definition of domination.

Most people who don't rate Serena usually do so because they may not like her as a person for whatever reason, but very few have any real reason to argue that she's not the greatest. Other than amount of Grand Slam wins, and i'm confident she'll beat that too.

The main attribute in which Graf > Serena is probably agility or amount of court she covers. But in almost every other attribute, serve, backhand, forehand, power etc. Serena beats her.

She's the greatest.

Really? Women's tennis in Graf's time was even worse than the current levels of shitness?
