Wimbledon 2013

From one of the most exciting men's draw in recent times, this has turned into one of the lamest in space of 3 days. Won't be surprised if both Murray and Novak too fall off now. Seems to be one of those years

Fair enough from your perspective, although I'm really liking seeing this. Adds some unpredictability and makes it much more exciting now.

Seems like it just makes it more straight forward for Murray and Novak (though Ferrer is still in there)... Unless the upsets keep happening... But I just don't see it.

What a fecking weird day and tournament so far  Firmly rooting for Murray now, not a fan of Djokovic winning another title here. Murray's path has been cleared and his draw is now probably even easier than Djokovic's, hope he does it.

It'd fun if those two and Del Potro get knocked out though, totally throws everything open, although that might increase the likelihood that a player like Ferrer might win, which would be just shit.

I don't think there'll be too more many upsets now either, but with the way it's been I wouldn't rule it out. Unlike other years with the big 4, there's only 2 of them now and all it takes is for one to fall and suddenly it's a whole different ball game. I'm fairly sure it'll be the first time in a decade or so where the final doesn't have either Nadal or Federer which will make it different and interesting.

Only problem with Del potro is that his name doesn't have that sound like you know nadal, federer, djokovic, tsonga. Even murray's name has more ring to it....I guess I am not used to hearing...del potro but I guess this sound will grow on me....slowly #TeamPotro.

As an aside, how fecking fit is Stakh's missus? Good lord!

How did he pull her?!

Yup....how luck changes. Few days ago...people were saying how the finalist from this draw would come out exhausted. Now I think Novak's draw is the tougher one.

Andy Murray's route towards a 2013 Wimbledon title is not going to take the expected route. At the start of the day we were expecting a Jo-Wilfried Tsonga quarter-final and Roger Federer semi-final.
Now, if the seeds work out, he will face Tommy Robredo, Mikhail Youzny, Juan Monaco, Nicolas Almagro and then Novak Djokovic in the final.

From the BBC. Didn't realise it was that easy. Robredo won't be a problem, Youzhny is a dangerous opponent on his day but can't see him getting more than a set, Monaco will be stroll, Almagro sucks on grass and probably won't get that far. Looks pretty easy.

Saying he hasn't eanred that much money is comparing his earnings to an average tennis player. He has won $2.5 million in tennis earnings, and that excludes sponsorships. Still much more than most of us will earn in our lifetime.

There's your best player ever, aims at his opponent when in trouble

Good riddance

Be GOAT Wimbledon if all 4 of the top 4 failed to make the final....

Robson to beat Serena too, why not?

Anyone with consistent success attracts odd bitterness over the smallest thing that can come across as a bad thing. Sports fans are touchy.

Roanic vs DelPo QF please. Only matchup I care about now.

He's a cnut of a loser. No class whatsoever in defeat.

He got this reputation of being a nice guy, but that was only when he was winning.

Del Potro's weakest surface is grass and given his injury record, it wouldn't surprise me to see him limp out like many others so far.

Would be great if he could put a run together and at least reach the semis of a Grand Slam for the first time since '09.

Right, who's your dark horse from the men's side of the draw? Besides Muray and Djokovic i mean.

I was watching a different match and having dinner so didn't know what was happening with Federer until the umpire on Court 3 told the spectators to concentrate on the game in front of them instead of the commotion from Centre Court.

In comparison to some sportsmen he's relatively humble but he's not without fault. He's never been a good loser to be honest; that's one thing about him. Admittedly you don't expect players to enjoy losing, but he's worse than most when it comes to losing.

Who actually cares if he isn't a good loser?

Ofcourse he's not flawless, but he's not the first sport person to be a bad loser. He generally comes across as decent in all of his interviews.

Tbf all of the top 4 in Men come across as very humble and decent in their interviews.

Sadly, Serena will dispatch Lisicki with ease, but then again, that's what she does to everyone.

It won't be with ease, Lisicki can match her power and serve and she is great on grass, a future Wimbledon champion for me. She also has a history of knocking out the defending French Open champion. It's the only match up that will be of interest in the women's draw as it's the only place Serena can fall. Sadly it's in the 4th Round if it happens.

He is a bad loser. I don't see why its hard to accept. I don't hate him for that. I personally am a pathetic loser as well and I play when there is nothing at stake. I don't understand why people become so touchy about these things. I just think he is a bad loser but thats hardly a crime.

Raonic from the top half, Janowicz from the bottom half.

Why do these tennis threads always get stupid? Maybe all 4 of them should just act like footballers and nfl stars and just be well, easily dislikable......or just act like the LAD that was Marat Safin, greatest ever.

I agree KM. Fergie's a terrible loser, still a great man.

It's not that, but saying he's a cnut or a bad sportsmen is completely ignorant and idiotic, when you compare him to the likes of Djokovic and Murray. Yes he doesn't like to lose, what sort of winner does?

You see it's a tad more than being a sore loser when you come to openly enjoy your rival's defeats. And also this isn't particularly about his post-defeat behaviour which we all know to be generally disgraceful (see US Open interview after Djokovic defeat in 2011) but his behaviour under unexpected pressure, as when he started aiming at his opponent at the start of the fourth set.

Don't let that stop you from labelling him the most gracious player ever though, as it simply looks like we don't have the same value systems.

A typical mature laughing emoticon from someone who can't be bothered to explain himself and thinks he wins the argument, typical.

 Think the smiley was good enough to see off your piss poor "argument" (though it was more of an opinion and as such, did not require any counter-argument) but you'll notice I also added a sentence underneath for good measure.

I'm not massive into Tennis but my mate has been going on for a while about Dimitrov. Reckons he's destined for the top.

I wasn't specifically aiming at you. But you did go over the top with this "most gracious sportsmen ever to live in the game" .

I don't think he was specifically laughing at Nadal but I can understand why that article can be seen as disrespectful tbf.
