Tsonga becomes only the 3rd person ever to beat Fed after losing the 1st two sets.
Can anyone tell me what is with players waiting for the winner before moving back to the locker room? We've seen Del Potro and now Federer do it.
Common courtesy. It was required for a long time but seems to have fallen out of fashion.
amol, I must say my view has changed on what we discussed. He does seem to lack a bit of fight and bottle. Too Berbatov-ish
Just one more round.Wouldn't mind seeing another Tsonga run to a Grand Slam final, he's a extremely entertaining player to watch on his day.
I don't think he did in his prime. I think it's a recent thing personally. And it's happening frequently.
Murrays chances increase
If he takes Nadal out, I honestly think it's his tournament to lose.
Well done Tsonga, go on and win it.
As for Federer, as much as it hurts for me to say this, I think another grandslam might be beyond him. He was in brilliant form this tournament yet these losses in form in tough games are happening very frequently now and that's where he has gotten a lot worse.
With the exception of maybe his first year of dominance and few finals vs Roddick...he's never shown any emotion or "fight" before finishing the game. Maybe because he expects to win or maybe because it works for him that way(can't really argue with his form, even now for a near 30 year old). He's come back in 5-setters looking all laid back and not caring(Nadal final 07, Tipsaravic, Haas etc) and he's lost looking the same(Nadal final 08, today, Safin etc)
If he takes Nadal out, I honestly think it's his tournament to lose. If Murray fecks it up from that position, he's got no excuses.
Totally. I believe he's better on this surface than Djokovic or Tsonga.
Also, does anyone think age has anything to do with it? He seemed to have little in the tank for the 5th.
Djokovic won't drop more than a set to Murray imo. Murray's run to the semis against a bunch of nobodies is exciting people but Nadal and then Djoko will be far harder than anyone he's played till now.
I'm not talking about showing emotion or fight.
His laid back exterior hasn't changed however while earlier on the big points he'd find the aces and winners, now he seems to struggle with getting his first serves in and hits the ball too short.

I think he was so sure he'd won the match after the second set tiebreak that he couldn't adjust to what was happening. He was so immense against Novak in the French that I can't believe age had anything to do with it.
I think people are being a little too excitable in predicting the end of Federer just yet. Just a few months ago, he beat the man who had gone on a 43 match winning streak, including smashing Nadal 4 times this year.
It will be hard with the men's game as it is now but its certainly not all over.
Then look at the French Open. Was competitive in the first three sets but the deciding set 6-1.
I feel sorry for Tsonga, he had no chance the way Federer is playing today, it's majestic.
Oooooooooppppsssss!!!!
