Who's higher up in the rankings out of the two?
Roddick (6)Who's higher up in the rankings out of the two?
Brilliant match from two former World Nr. 1's and Grand Slam winners. Highlights the strength in depth of the men's game.
Hewitt and Roddick were the two biggest casualties of the Federer era. They both collected their Majors in the era between Sampras and Federer but once Federer rose to dominance they both struggled to come to terms with meeting him, and consistently losing, in the semi-finals or finals of major competitions. In fact, has either of them won a slam since Federer won his first?
Anyway, it's absolutely great to see them back - they both seem to have resolved to get the best out of their last couple of years on tour, rather than wallow in self pity.
The men's game, already in great shape with a phenomenal top 4 - and a great rivalry between Fed and Nadal - just got even better. The rest of the season should be great...
